Itinerary
Day 1 - Denpasar - Lovina - Kecamatan Buleleng
We will collect you at 8:30 am from the airport or your hotel in South Bali and begin our journey inland to Taman Ayun Temple, also known as the Royal Mengwi Temple. This temple is renowned for its elegant merus – traditional Balinese pagodas – and its surrounding moat. Designed to symbolise Mount Meru, the mythological home of the gods, it offers a fascinating glimpse into Balinese spiritual architecture. Next, we visit Alas Kedaton, the ‘Holy Forest’, where hundreds of monkeys roam freely within a temple complex nestled in the jungle. From there, we continue to Tanah Lot Temple, a sacred site perched on a lava rock. Depending on the tide, the temple is either surrounded by the sea or accessible via a causeway. We then head inland to Pacung, set among striking rice terraces, before stopping at Candi Kuning to explore the vibrant fruit market. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we travel to the mountain resort of Bedugul on the southern shore of Lake Bratan, home to the tranquil Ulun Danu Temple, dedicated to the Goddess of the Waters. The serene setting offers a peaceful atmosphere steeped in spirituality. Our journey continues through a coffee plantation before reaching Lovina beach on the north coast, where we check in to our hotel at around 5:30 pm. Due to the early start, we recommend arriving in Bali at least one day prior to this tour. You will spend the night in Lovina.
Day 2 - Lovina - Kintamani - Candidasa - Kecamatan Manggis
We start early at 6:00 am with a traditional fishing boat trip into the Bali Sea to watch dolphins in their natural habitat. After returning to the hotel for breakfast around 7:00 am, we check out and depart at 9:00 am, heading inland to Kintamani. Here, we take in stunning views of Mount Batur and its crater lake, a striking landscape with an alpine feel. Lunch is served at a local restaurant before we continue towards the slopes of Mount Agung to visit Besakih Temple, Bali’s largest and holiest Hindu temple complex. Known as the Mother Temple, this 800-year-old site comprises 22 temples arranged on terraced ridges, each offering impressive views over the valley below. We then travel to Candidasa, arriving around 5:00 pm to check in to your hotel for the night.
Day 3 - Candidasa - Ubud
After breakfast, check out of your hotel by 9 am and travel along the south-eastern coast to Kusamba to visit Goa Lawah Temple, known as the ‘Bat Cave’. The cave’s walls are home to thousands of free-tailed bats, linked to the mythological serpent Basuki said to dwell within. From here, enjoy views over the Badung Strait and, weather permitting, the island of Nusa Penida. Next, continue to Semarapura to explore the ruins of Klungkung Palace, where the Kerta Gosa pavilion stands out with its ceiling paintings depicting scenes of heaven and hell. Afterwards, visit Goa Gajah, the ‘Elephant Cave’ temple dating back to the 11th century, set amidst well-maintained gardens. Pause for lunch at a local restaurant before driving through sculpted rice terraces towards Ubud, Bali’s cultural and artistic heart. Arrive at your hotel around 5 pm, with the remainder of the day free to relax or explore at your leisure. Overnight in Ubud.
Day 4 - Ubud - Mas - Celuk
After breakfast, check out by midday and travel a short distance south to the village of Mas, renowned for its exquisite woodcarvings. The ‘Mas style’ is celebrated for blending humanistic and naturalistic elements in its craftsmanship. Next, continue to nearby Celuk, famous for its fine gold and silver jewellery. The town’s prosperity is evident in its well-kept homes and impressive showrooms. The tour concludes around 4 pm with a drop-off at your hotel in South Bali if you plan to extend your stay, or at Denpasar Airport for your onward journey. We recommend booking flights no earlier than 7 pm or considering an additional night in South Bali.
