Day 1 - Arrival in Rome!
Day 1 - Arrival in Rome!
Upon arrival in Rome, make your way to the accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, you may have some time to grab a bite to eat, explore, or relax. In the afternoon, at 5 PM, meet your tour leader and fellow travellers at the reception for a welcome briefing with a welcome drink. After, you will also have the chance to book any optional activities with your tour leader
Next, we'll embark on an evening walking tour through the Eternal City, passing by the Roman Forum, the Vittoriano Monument, and finally, the Colosseum, where you can admire one of Italy’s most iconic landmarks during the golden hour. We will then make our way to a restaurant where we will enjoy an included dinner.
Please note: This tour is designed for younger travellers looking for a backpacker-style experience and to meet like-minded people. The average age on this tour is around 21 - 35, and we are unfortunately unable to take any travellers over the age of 39. Day 2 - Exploring Rome & the Vatican City

Rome - Vatican City - Rome. Today, we will meet with our tour leader for a walking tour through Rome, where we will admire the Piazza Navona, a lively square with Baroque architecture, the Spanish Steps, a grand staircase leading to the Trinità dei Monti church, and the iconic Trevi Fountain, where you can toss a coin to ensure your return to Rome.
Finally, we will arrive at Vatican City, where you’ll have access to the Vatican Museum with your included tickets. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit St. Peter’s Basilica, the Pope's residence, or, alternatively, you can opt for a guided tour of the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel.
Day 3 - Rome at Leisure

You’ll have an entire day to explore Rome at your own pace. Whether you choose to shop for souvenirs, visit iconic Roman landmarks, or simply unwind, the choice is yours. If you're interested, you can also book optional activities like a 2-hour walking tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum or take part in a cooking class to master traditional Italian recipes. Alternatively, take in the Italian capital from the hop-on, hop-off city sightseeing bus - how you spend today is up to you!
Day 4 - Pompeii & Sorrento Exploration
Day 4 - Pompeii & Sorrento Exploration
Rome - Pompeii - Sorrento. This morning, we will meet our tour leader for the journey to southern Italy, with our first stop being Pompeii. Here, you will have free time to explore the ruins and admire the ancient Roman settlements. Alternatively, you can choose to join a guided tour of Pompeii led by a licensed guide, who will provide in-depth insights into the historical site.
Next, we will make our way from Pompeii to Sorrento. As we drive along the coast, you'll enjoy stunning views of Mount Vesuvius, the famous active volcano known for its eruption in 79 AD that buried Pompeii. We will then arrive at our accommodation in Sorrento, located on top of a hill, in a camping village that offers stunning views of Sorrento and the coastline (we are staying in 3-person bungalows, not camping)!
After checking in, we will explore the city centre before visiting a limoncello shop, where you can sample this iconic Southern Italian liqueur and learn about its traditional production process. In the evening, you’ll have the option to enjoy a four-course dinner at a local restaurant in Sorrento, featuring pasta, gnocchi, and other regional specialties. Afterward, we will head to the old marina, where you can relax with a drink while admiring the stunning views of the Gulf of Naples.
Day 5 - Capri Day Trip

Sorrento - Capri - Sorrento. This morning at 8:30, we will embark on a boat trip departing from our accommodation to the island of Capri. On arrival, you have the day to explore at your leisure. You can discover the island at your own pace, unwind on the beach, ride the chairlift to the summit of Mt. Solaro for a stunning 360-degree panoramic view, or explore the famous Blue Grotto. Alternatively, you can follow your tour leader around, who will be able to give you more insight into the island.
After returning to Sorrento, we will visit a natural pool near the ancient ruins at sunset, where you will have a chance to swim. The rest of the evening will be yours to enjoy at leisure.
Please note: Bring your towel if you are looking to swim while in Capri and at the natural pool in Sorrento.
Day 6 - Highlights of the Amalfi Coast

Sorrento - Amalfi - Positano - Sorrento. Today, we journey by private bus from Sorrento along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, following the famous winding road that weaves along the cliffs, offering stunning panoramic views often featured in films. On our way to Amalfi, we’ll catch glimpses of the “Galli” Islands and pass through the charming fishing villages of Praiano, Furore, and Positano.
We will stop in Amalfi for two hours, allowing you to discover the best viewpoints and indulge in freshly made sfogliatella, a delicious pastry with layers of flaky dough and a sweet ricotta filling. You can also visit the impressive cathedral, relax on the beach, and enjoy a tasty arancini, a savory rice ball stuffed with fillings like cheese or meat.
Next, we will make our way from Amalfi to Positano, often considered the crown jewel of the Amalfi Coast. Once we arrive in Positano, you'll have three hours to wander through the town, discovering its vibrant streets and iconic cascade of colourful houses at your leisure. You can also take a swim and enjoy a bite at one of the local shops serving fresh, authentic food. Later, we will make our way back to Sorrento, where you will have the evening at leisure. You may choose to join your fellow travellers for a drink, dancing or karaoke at one of the local bars.
Day 7 - Exploring Naples & Transfer to Rome
Day 7 - Exploring Naples & Transfer to Rome
Sorrento - Naples - Rome. Today, we depart from Sorrento by private bus, traveling to Naples, the birthplace of pizza and a city steeped in Italian tradition. Our first stop will be in one of Naples' most renowned areas for shopping and monuments.
Our tour leader will then take us on a walking tour, highlighting key sights such as the San Carlo Theatre, Italy’s oldest opera house, Plebiscito Square, known for its grand architecture, Umberto I Gallery, a stunning shopping gallery, and the historic city centre. We’ll also visit the lively Spanish Quarter, famous for its narrow streets and as the home of football legend Maradona.
To wrap up our day, we’ll enjoy a traditional Neapolitan pizza with buffalo mozzarella before returning to Rome by train at approximately 5:00 pm. Our tour comes to an end on arrival back in Rome, and you are free to head to the airport or continue to your next destination. Safe travels!
