Itinerary
Day 1 - Nairobi to Amboseli
Your day begins with pick-up from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or the airport at 7 am, for the drive to Amboseli National Park via the Nairobi-Mombasa road. The morning takes you through typical African savanna country, dotted with local homesteads, with colourful Masai herdsmen grazing their cattle along the way. You arrive at Amboseli National Park in time for lunch, followed by a midday rest.
In the afternoon, you head out into the park for a scheduled game viewing drive, keeping an eye out for elephant, giraffe, zebra, lion, cheetah, warthog, ostrich and many others. Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the skyline and surrounding countryside throughout, the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Its snow-capped peak forms a striking backdrop as you take in the wildlife and scenery, before you settle in at your accommodation for the night.
Day 2 - Amboseli to Nairobi
This morning, you wake for an early game drive, one of the best times of day to see Mount Kilimanjaro. The early light turns the mountain a dark shade of purple and its snow into a soft, ethereal pink, with herds of elephant crossing the Amboseli plains beneath it creating a timeless image of Africa.
You then head back to your accommodation for breakfast, before packing your bags and setting off on the return drive to Nairobi.
