Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Kuala Lumpur

Once you have arrived in Kuala Lumpur, a representative meets you in the Arrivals Hall and transfers you privately to your accommodation, a journey of around 25 minutes.
Sitting at the confluence of the Kelang and Gombak rivers, Kuala Lumpur is Malaysia's capital and its commercial and cultural heart - a multicultural city where colonial-era buildings, temples and mosques sit against a skyline of glass and steel.
Day 2 - Kuala Lumpur City Highlights

This morning, your private guide and driver take you to Batu Caves, a 100-year-old temple set within limestone caverns thought to be around 400 million years old and one of the most important Hindu religious sites in the country. From here, you head to the Petronas Twin Towers, riding up to the Skybridge around 170 metres above the city for sweeping views across Kuala Lumpur.
You continue into Chinatown to browse its food stalls and shopping alleys, before visiting Merdeka Square, a symbol of Malaysian independence flanked by colonial and modern architecture, home to one of the world's tallest flagpoles. Central Market follows, an indoor bazaar of local food and traditional Malaysian crafts.
The afternoon takes in the calm of the Lake Gardens, the National Mosque with its gardens and 1950s architecture, and the National Monument, a sculpture commemorating those who died in Malaysia's struggle for independence. You also pass the Royal King's Palace, admiring its golden domes and Islamic-style architecture from outside.
Your day ends at Thean Hou Temple, a six-tiered pagoda atop Robson Heights completed in 1987 and dedicated to the goddess Tian Hou, before returning to your accommodation.
Day 3 - Journey to Bukit Lawang

After breakfast, your driver collects you from your accommodation for the transfer to Kuala Lumpur International Airport, from where you fly to Kuala Namu. A representative meets you on arrival and drives you around three hours to Bukit Lawang, a small village on the Bahorok River known as the main gateway to Gunung Leuser National Park and home to the largest population of Sumatran orangutans in the wild.
Please note: A 20 kg checked baggage allowance has been added for your flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Namu.
Day 4 - Jungle Trek in Gunung Leuser National Park

Your guide and an assistant guide collect you from your accommodation around 9 am, and you walk down along the river before climbing through rubber plantations to the entrance of Gunung Leuser National Park. Once inside, you have the chance to spot semi-wild Sumatran orangutans in the trees, along with their young.
You continue trekking through the rainforest, stopping for a snack of tropical fruit, then climb for around an hour to viewpoints over the Bohorok River valley and the national park beyond. After a jungle lunch, the trek continues, with further opportunities to see Long Tail Macaques, Pig Tail Macaques, Thomas Leaf Monkeys and monitor lizards.
You reach your first campsite, set beside a waterfall or the riverside, around 4 pm, with time to relax with a hot drink and take a swim while your guides prepare dinner. The evening is spent chatting or playing cards around a bonfire before you sleep in a jungle tent.
Please note: Pack suitable trekking gear for the jungle trek, including comfortable walking shoes, long trousers, a raincoat, swimwear, a torch, insect repellent and a water bottle.
Day 5 - Trek Deeper into the Rainforest

After a homemade breakfast at the campsite, you trek for around three hours through the rainforest, keeping watch for further wildlife. Lunch is taken surrounded by jungle sounds, before another three-hour walk brings you to your second campsite, where you can relax and swim in the river or waterfall. A traditional dinner is enjoyed around the bonfire, with your guide sharing stories of the jungle.
Day 6 - Final Trek Day & Return to Bukit Lawang

On your last morning in the jungle, you can choose to relax at the campsite or continue trekking for three to five hours for the chance to spot more of the park's eight primate species, including White-handed Gibbons, Siamangs and Slow Loris, as well as the Great Argus or Hornbill birds.
After a final jungle lunch, the trek ends with a traditional tubing ride down the Bohorok River back to Bukit Lawang, where your guide returns you to your accommodation in the early afternoon.
Day 7 - Travel to Jakarta

Early this morning, a representative collects you from your accommodation for the drive back to Kuala Namu Airport, from where you fly to Jakarta. A representative meets you at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and transfers you privately to your accommodation in the city.
Please note: Jakarta traffic can be heavy, so transfer times to and from the airport should allow extra time.
Day 8 - Uncover Jakarta & Continue to Labuan Bajo
This morning, a private guide takes you on a tour of Jakarta's cultural and historical highlights, beginning at the National Monument in Merdeka Square, surrounded by the National Museum and Presidential Palace. You pause at the Istiqlal Mosque, the largest in Southeast Asia, and the nearby Jakarta Cathedral, known for its Gothic architecture.
The tour continues into Kota Tua, Jakarta's historic Dutch colonial quarter, where you wander cobblestone streets past well-preserved colonial buildings and visit the Makutharama Puppet Studio to see traditional Indonesian wayang kulit puppetry. You also see the Kota Intan Drawbridge, one of the last working remnants of the Dutch colonial era, before the tour ends at Sunda Kelapa Harbour to admire its traditional wooden schooners.
You are then transferred to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for your flight to Labuan Bajo, where a representative meets you and drives you to your accommodation.
Day 9 - Komodo National Park Speed Boat Adventure

Early this morning, you are collected from your accommodation and driven to the harbour to board a speed boat for Padar Island, where you have time to hike and take in the views. From here, you continue by boat to Long Beach for swimming and photography, before a rest and lunch stop on Komodo Island.
The afternoon takes you on to Taka Makasar for snorkelling and swimming at Pink Beach, then to Manta Point for the chance to observe manta rays, and finally Kanawa Island for a final swim and snorkel before returning to Labuan Bajo by speed boat in the late afternoon.
Please note: The boat schedule and route may be changed or cancelled without notice due to weather conditions such as heavy rain, high waves or wind.
Please note: The minimum age to participate in this activity is 2 years.
Day 10 - Free Day in Labuan Bajo

Today, you can uncover more of Labuan at leisure. Alternatively, you have the option of joining a half-day trip to Rangko Cave and Boleng Beach for snorkelling, departing your accommodation around 8 am.
Day 11 - Transfer to Ubud

This morning, your driver collects you from your accommodation for the transfer to Komodo Airport, from where you fly to Bali. A representative meets you at Ngurah Rai International Airport and transfers you privately to your accommodation in Ubud.
Day 12 - Discover Ubud Art, Culture & Rice Terraces

Today, a private vehicle takes you around Ubud's cultural highlights, beginning at the lively Ubud Art Market for handmade crafts. You continue to the Monkey Forest Sanctuary to see Bali's famous long-tailed macaques in their sacred forest setting, before finishing at the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, where you can learn about traditional Balinese farming methods and take in one of Bali's most photographed landscapes, including the option to try the terraces' well-known swing.
Day 13 - Sunrise Trek up Mount Batur

In the very early hours, you are collected from your accommodation and driven to the village of Kintamani, near the active volcano of Mount Batur. Your guides give a short introduction and safety briefing before leading you on a trek of around ninety minutes to the summit, the highest volcanic crater in Bali.
At the top, you watch the sky shift colour as the sun rises, before enjoying breakfast with views over the surrounding landscape. You have time to walk around the crater and cross a hill of lava and black sand, before trekking back down the mountain.
On the way back, you stop at the hidden Kanto Lampo Waterfall for a refreshing swim, before being dropped off at your accommodation.
Please note: Pack warm clothing, proper hiking shoes, a jacket, cash, a change of clothes, a swimsuit, slippers and a dry bag for this trek.
