Northern Europe and Baltic Odyssey

In the morning we set off on a panoramic tour of Oslo with a local guide, passing the Royal Palace, pausing in Frogner Park to admire its remarkable sculptures, and viewing the exterior of the Town Hall, the old port and the striking Opera House. Afterwards you have free time – perhaps visit a museum or linger by the waterfront. After lunch we board a modern overnight ferry to Denmark and spend the afternoon and night on board, with cabin accommodation and breakfast included. Note: the ferry is scheduled to depart at 16:30 (boarding at 15:30) and arrive in Copenhagen at 10:00 – schedules are subject to change.

We arrive in Copenhagen in the morning and begin a panoramic tour with a local guide of the Danish capital, renowned for quality of life, sustainability and culture. Travelling by coach with a short walk, we see the Little Mermaid, colourful Nyhavn, the exterior of Amalienborg Palace, City Hall Square and the Tivoli area. The afternoon is free for you to explore.

After breakfast we travel to Gedser, at Scandinavia’s southernmost point. Around 11:00 we board a modern ferry to Germany for a two–hour Baltic crossing – you may wish to have lunch on board. We reach Rostock, where you have free time to explore this lively Baltic port and its atmospheric old town, including the Market Square, City Hall and St. Mary’s Church. We then continue through Pomerania into Poland, arriving in Szczecin in the evening, a historic university city on the Oder with a charming centre that includes the Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle and riverside terraces – you have time to stroll and soak up the atmosphere.

After breakfast we travel across the peaceful regions of western Poland, once part of Germany until the end of the Second World War. Our first stop is Bydgoszcz, where you have time to wander this historic city known for handsome architecture, green parks and canals linking the Vistula and Oder – an ideal moment for lunch. We continue to Torun, a walled Gothic city with a superb historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Copernicus – you have time to explore and, if you wish, visit his museum house. We then continue to Warsaw, arriving by day’s end.

We begin with a panoramic tour of Warsaw with a local guide. This dynamic capital blends striking modern architecture with painstakingly restored heritage. We stroll through the charming Old Town with the Royal Palace and cobbled streets – all rebuilt after wartime destruction and now recognised as a World Heritage Site. We visit the Palace of Culture, the skyscraper gifted by the Soviet Union, reflect on the history of what was once Europe’s largest Jewish ghetto, and wander through Lazienki Park, home to the Chopin Monument. The afternoon is free for you to visit museums such as the National Museum and the Warsaw Rising Museum, or to explore the lively city centre.

After breakfast our journey concludes, leaving you with wonderful lasting memories.
