Day 1 - Welcome
Welcome to Tromsø, the Arctic Capital!
Tromsø offers a unique mix of Arctic culture, stunning landscapes, and vibrant urban life. Known as the "Gateway to the Arctic," it's famed for the Northern Lights in winter and the Midnight Sun in summer.
Upon arrival, make your own way to your hotel for check in. The rest of the day will be at leisure. If you would like to pre-book an arrival transfer, please contact us.
Day 2 - Malangen and Northern Lights
After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a scenic journey to Malangen Resort. Nestled in a remote location with stunning views of the sea and fjords, your accommodation for the next two days is a charming fisherman's cabin with sea vistas. Upon arrival, settle in and take your pick from a range of optional activities for the afternoon.
In the evening, prepare for an enchanting Northern Lights Watch, a four-hour excursion led by a knowledgeable local guide. Situated in one of Tromsø's most sought-after Northern Lights viewing spots, Malangen Resort enhances your chances of witnessing the auroras. You'll be whisked away to Camp Nikka, located just a short walk from the resort and strategically positioned to offer clearer skies for optimal viewing. At the basecamp, unwind around a crackling fire in a snug lavvu, enjoying light refreshments and hot drinks as you await the Northern Lights overhead.
Day 3 - Husky Safari
After breakfast, prepare for an unforgettable experience: a guided husky safari through the Arctic landscape. Near Camp Nikka, you'll meet a devoted team of huskies eager to lead you on this thrilling adventure. Begin with a lesson on handling your own husky team, then set off with your partner, driving in pairs and swapping places for an immersive experience.
As you journey through the picturesque wilderness, take in the breathtaking scenery while guiding your husky team. Afterward, unwind with a light snack by an open fire. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure, with optional activities available. In the evening, enjoy dinner at Malangen Resort.
Day 4 - Back to Tromsø
After breakfast, you will make the journey back to Tromsø. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Explore the city or opt to join the thrilling "snowmobile evening" activity for an unforgettable adventure under the Arctic sky. Zoom through snow-covered landscapes and marvel at the beauty of the surrounding wilderness as you chase the Northern Lights.
Day 5 - Goodbye

Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, you dress in warm winter gear and begin the adventure with thorough safety instructions and a practical demonstration. It is then time to follow the snowmobile ice fishing track that leads you between the snow-covered mountains up to a frozen lake. Lake Finn marks the halfway point of the snowmobiling adventure and is a good place to take photos, play in the snow and in good weather conditions, witness the Northern Lights. You will drive in pairs with one driver and one passenger per snowmobile and plenty of opportunities to switch places during the snowmobiling adventure. To drive the snowmobile, you need to have a valid driving license. Included: hot meal and drinks, transfers from and back to the city, thermal clothes, helmet and boots, English-speaking guide.

The best way to enhance your chances of experiencing the Northern Lights is to be outside in the evening. This exciting and informative activity gets you out and about in the white winter landscape above the resort. You walk up to the white winter wilderness above the resort with headtorches showing the way. Away from artificial light sources, you find open areas that are ideal for observing and photographing the Northern Lights. The guide will provide a detailed explanation about the Northern Lights help any guests who require assistance with camera settings. You will have the opportunity to photograph the Northern Lights from various scenic vantage points. You will stop along the way and make a bonfire, which you can sit around to warm up and relax. Hot drinks and biscuits will be served before beginning the walk back down to the resort. Included: light snack, snowshoes, thermal clothes and boots, English-speaking guide.

Learn how to experience the wilderness like the famous Norwegian explorers. This exciting and informative tour combines the joys of snowshoeing through the beautiful silence of the snowy forest with practical and fascinating information from our knowledgeable wilderness guide. Learn how to make a fire with a magnesium stone instead of matches and a variety of other skills needed in the wilderness. You will learn about local flora and fauna, how to avoid any natural obstacles covered by the snow and which animals made the footprints we discover. If you are lucky, you may even see a willow grouse or an Arctic hare going about their daily routines. When you return from the adventure, you will have a much wider perspective of the local nature. The Sami are the indigenous people living in Europe’s northern extremes. Enter a lavvu (Sami herdsmen’s tent) with a Sami specialist and hear fascinating stories about the way of life of the indigenous Sami people, their history, and beliefs in the glow of the open fire. You will see traditional Sami artifacts and taste authentic Sami food cooked on the fire. You will then have a chance to visit and feed the reindeer that graze near the lavvu and learn about the traditions of reindeer herding and the art of lasso throwing. As a souvenir of this memorable experience, the guide will assist you to make your very own handicraft from reindeer antler. Included: authentic Sami food cooked on the fire, thermal clothes and boots, English-speaking guide.
