Once you’ve arrived in Santiago, head to your hotel or hostel for check-in. After, you can spend your free time wandering the historic old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visiting the lively Praza do Obradoiro, exploring local markets, or relaxing in one of the city’s many traditional cafés.
Santiago de Compostela - Negreira. This morning, you will begin your journey after breakfast, leaving behind the Plaza del Obradoiro and the majestic Santiago Cathedral. The trail to Negreira offers a gentle, scenic walk through quiet countryside and rolling green hills. The only notable ascent is the climb to Mar de Ovellas, offering lovely views over the valley. Along the way, you will cross the Tambre River at the picturesque Ponte Maceira, a historic medieval bridge, before arriving in the tranquil town of Negreira.
Please note: You must leave your luggage in the lobby at each hotel or hostel by 8 AM. It will be transferred to your next stop, so you will not need to carry it during the trek.
Estimated trekking distance and time: Approx 20.6 km & 5 hrs
Negreira - Olveiroa. Today will be a demanding stage of your journey due to its length, but you will be rewarded with breathtaking landscapes. You leave behind all signs of urban life and make your way into peaceful oak and chestnut forests. One of the main challenges is your climb up Monte Aro, but at the top, you will be treated to sweeping views of the Fervenza reservoir, where the Xallas River flows into its still waters. After, you will continue to Olveiroa.
Estimated trekking distance and time: Approx 33.6 km & 8 hrs
Olveiroa - Cee. After breakfast, you will journey through the last stage of the inland part of your tour. The river Xallas continues to accompany us as you make your way to Hospital. Soon after, you will reach a fork offering a route to Muxía for those who wish to take the variant; however, you will follow the path towards Cee.
Along the way, you will pass the Cruceiro Marco de Couto, the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora das Neves, and the chapel of San Pedro Mártir, until you arrive at Cruceiro da Armada, where the sea comes into view for the first time. From here, you will have a steep descent which leads us to today’s destination, Cee.
Estimated trekking distance and time: Approx. 19.3 km & 4 hrs
Cee - Fisterra. This morning, you begin the day walking towards Corcubión, a charming fishing village recognised as a historical art site. Its quaint streets and coastal atmosphere offer a peaceful pause on your journey.
The Atlantic Ocean accompanies you on this tranquil walk to Cape Fisterra, the long-awaited final destination of the Camino. If time allows, you can take in one of the most stunning sunsets at what was once considered the “end of the world.”
Estimated trekking distance and time:Approx 12.9 km & 3 hrs
Fisterra - Lires. After breakfast, you leave Langosteira beach behind and set off on foot towards the quiet village of San Martiño de Duio. The path gently rises as you pass through the hamlet, leading us into a steady ascent surrounded by lush greenery and rural charm. This climb brings you to Buxán, a peaceful spot marking the midpoint of today’s stage. From there, you will continue by road, winding through a series of quaint villages, each with its own character, before arriving in the coastal village of Lires.
Estimated trekking distance and time: Approx 15.6 km & 4 hrs
Lires - Muxia. Today, with the vast Atlantic Ocean by your side, you begin a challenging final stretch with a 9-kilometre ascent to the summit of Facho de Lourido. The climb is demanding, but at the top, you’re rewarded with sweeping ocean views and dramatic coastal scenery.
From there, you descend through quiet paths to the village of Xurarantes before continuing on to Muxía. In this coastal town, a visit to the iconic sanctuary of Virxe da Barca, perched above the crashing waves, is unmissable.
Estimated trekking distance and time: Approx 14.3 km & 3 hrs
