Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Madrid
Upon arrival in Madrid, you will be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure, giving you time to relax or begin exploring the city at your own pace.
Day 2 - Madrid City Tour
After breakfast, you set off on a panoramic tour of Madrid, starting in its oldest quarter. Here, you’ll see traces of the city’s medieval origins, including the former Arab fortress and the traditional lanes of the Barrio de la Morería.
Next, you explore the Habsburg district, home to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa. From there, you continue into Bourbon Madrid to view the Royal Palace, the Cibeles and Neptune fountains, and the grand Puerta de Alcalá.
Your tour then highlights the city’s nineteenth-century architecture, including Plaza de Oriente and the exterior of the Prado Museum. Finally, you discover modern Madrid as you travel along Gran Vía and Paseo de la Castellana, passing the Salamanca district, Parque del Oeste, the city’s commercial and financial area, and the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
The afternoon is free for you to enjoy the city at your own pace.
Day 3 - Salamanca & Onwards to Porto
Madrid – Salamanca (Spain) – Porto (Portugal). Today you depart Madrid and travel to Salamanca, a UNESCO World Heritage city celebrated for its historic university and distinctive sandstone architecture. Upon arrival, you’ll have free time to explore the old town at your own pace.
Later, you continue across the Portuguese border and make your way to Porto, where you check in for the night.
Day 4 - Porto City Tour
This morning, you join a panoramic tour of Porto, a UNESCO-listed city known for its historic centre and riverside charm. You will visit the Cathedral, the ornate Stock Exchange building and Santa Clara Church, each reflecting a different period of the city’s past.
Next, you gain a different perspective of Porto during a journey along the Douro River, followed by a visit to a traditional Port Wine Cellar where you enjoy a tasting of the region’s famous wine. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore independently.
Day 5 - Coimbra & Fátima
Porto - Coimbra - Fatima. You travel south to Coimbra, home to one of Europe’s oldest universities and a birthplace of traditional Fado music. On arrival, you have free time to explore the historic centre and its academic quarter at your own pace.
Afterwards, you continue to Fátima, one of the world’s most significant pilgrimage sites. Here, you visit the Basilica, the Cova da Iria—where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared—and the Chapel of the Apparitions, which houses the tombs of the three shepherd children.
In the evening, you may choose to attend the candlelight procession.
Day 6 - Batalha, Nazare, Alcobaca & Lisbon
Fátima – Batalha – Nazare – Alcobaca – Lisbon. Today, you begin with a visit to the Batalha Monastery, a UNESCO-listed masterpiece of Gothic and Manueline architecture.You then continue to the coastal town of Nazare, where you have free time to explore its traditional streets or enjoy the seaside views.
Later, you travel to Alcobaca to see its impressive Gothic church and twelfth-century Cistercian monastery, both central to the town’s heritage. Your day ends in Lisbon, where you settle into your hotel in the Portuguese capital.
Day 7 - Lisbon City Tour
After breakfast, you set out to discover Lisbon, a city once known as Olissipo. Your tour includes its main squares and grand avenues, as well as landmark sights such as the Belém Tower, the exterior of Jeronimos Monastery and the Monument to the discoveries.
The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace—perhaps wandering the historic Alfama district—or you may choose to join an optional excursion to Sintra and Cascais, both renowned World Heritage sites.
Day 8 - Merida’s Roman Legacy & Arrival in Córdoba
Lisbon (Portugal) – Merida (Spain) – Cordoba. This morning, you leave Lisbon and travel east towards the Spanish border, continuing to Mérida, the capital of Extremadura and a UNESCO World Heritage city. Here, you explore some of the best-preserved Roman remains on the Iberian Peninsula, including the theatre, amphitheatre and ancient bridge, with free time to look around independently.
Later, you continue to Córdoba, once the flourishing heart of the Caliphate, where you check in for the evening.
Day 9 - Córdoba to Seville
Córdoba – Seville. You start the day with a visit to Córdoba’s remarkable Mosque, before wandering through the narrow lanes of the Jewish Quarter, one of the city’s most atmospheric historic areas.
In the afternoon, you travel south to Seville, just a short drive away, where you settle in for the night.
Day 10 - Seville City Tour
Today, you enjoy a panoramic tour of Seville, beginning with its vast Cathedral, one of the largest in the Catholic world. From here, you continue into the charming Santa Cruz quarter, known for its winding lanes and historic courtyards.
Your tour then takes you through Maria Luisa Park and on to the impressive Plaza de España, one of the city’s most striking landmarks.
The afternoon is free for you to explore Seville’s vibrant streets and sample its local flavours. In the evening, you may choose to attend an optional Flamenco show.
Day 11 - Seville to Granada
Seville - Granada. Today, you travel east along the historic Caliphate Road, passing endless olive groves on your journey towards Granada, the final stronghold of the Moorish Kingdoms. On arrival, you visit the renowned Alhambra complex and the beautiful Generalife Gardens, celebrated for their tranquil courtyards and intricate design.
In the evening, you may choose to attend an optional Flamenco Zambra show.
Day 12 - Granada to Valencia
Granada – Valencia. Today, you leave Granada and travel east across Spain towards the Mediterranean coast. Your journey brings you to Valencia, one of the region’s most important coastal cities. On arrival, you see the striking City of Arts and Sciences complex, an architectural landmark made up of six modern structures including the Hemispheric, Umbracle, Science Museum, Oceanogràfic, Palau de les Arts and Ágora.
Day 13 - Valencia to Barcelona
Valencia – Barcelona. This morning, you take a panoramic tour of Valencia, passing through the historic city centre and viewing its most notable buildings. You then continue along the former riverbed of the Turia to admire the impressive exteriors of the City of Arts and Sciences.
In the early afternoon, you travel north along the Mediterranean coastline into Catalunya, journeying via Tarragona — once the Roman city of Tarraco — before arriving in Barcelona, the region’s dynamic capital and a showcase of Catalan modernism.
Day 14 - Barcelona City Tour
After breakfast, you begin a city tour of Barcelona, a city recognised worldwide for hosting the 1992 Olympic Games. As you travel along its main boulevards, you see some of Gaudí’s most celebrated works, including La Pedrera (Casa Milà) and Casa Batlló, both listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Your tour continues to Montjuïc Park, where you enjoy panoramic views over the city, the Olympic Ring and the monument to Columbus. The afternoon is yours to continue exploring Barcelona’s many attractions or to enjoy its renowned culinary scene at your own pace.
Day 15 - Departure from Barcelona
After your final breakfast, you will be transfer to Barcelona Airport for your onward flight. Safe travels!
