Itinerary
Day 1 - Bangkok
On arrival at Bangkok International Airport, our representative will meet and greet you, then we arrange an unescorted transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to settle in and start exploring at your own pace – you could opt for a traditional Thai massage, sample local flavours, and perhaps round off the evening with sunset views from one of the city’s rooftop bars, all at your own expense. Overnight in Bangkok.
Day 2 - Bangkok
We set out to explore three of Bangkok’s most important Buddhist temples. First is Wat Traimit – the Temple of the Golden Buddha – which houses a statue of solid gold standing about 3 metres tall and weighing 5.5 tonnes. We then pass through Chinatown en route to Wat Pho, home to the Reclining Buddha and the Chedis of the Kings. At 46 metres long and 15 metres high, the reclining statue is the largest in Bangkok and depicts the Buddha’s passing into nirvana. Next, we continue to the Grand Palace – a leading example of an ancient Siamese royal court and the former residence of the kings of Bangkok. Here we see ceremonial buildings used for different occasions, including the Funeral Palace, Reception Palace, Throne Hall, Coronation Hall and Royal Guesthouse, as well as Wat Phra Kaew, the temple of the Emerald Buddha. To round off the outing, we visit a local lapidary factory and showroom where you can browse jewellery, handicrafts and silk at competitive prices. The Grand Palace may close to the public during special royal ceremonies and official government visits.Overnight in Bangkok.
Day 3 - Bangkok - Samut Songkhram - Ratchaburi
After breakfast, we leave Bangkok by road for Maeklong Railway Market in Samut Songkhram – also known as Talad Rom Hoop. On arrival, our guide shares the area’s history before we watch the market’s rapid transformation as a train passes through – a quick, memorable moment. We then continue to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in Ratchaburi to see vendors paddling along the canals with boats laden with fresh fruit and vegetables – a lively way to observe daily life and try a bit of bargaining. We transfer back to Bangkok. Overnight in Bangkok.
Day 4 - Bangkok - Chiang Mai
After breakfast, we transfer you to Bangkok Airport for your included flight to Chiang Mai. On arrival, an unescorted transfer takes you to your hotel. We collect you at 1.30 pm in central Chiang Mai for a guided tour of the old city and its main temples. We begin at Wat Suan Dok to see its Sri Lankan–style chedi rising 48 metres and overlooking the Royal Cemetery, then continue to Wat Phra Sing to explore a large complex of more than 60 buildings. We visit 14th–century Wat Chedi Luang in the heart of the old city, with its more rustic appearance and restoration after decades of decay, and we also take in nearby Wat Chet Yot, which shows its age, and Wat Chiang Man, noted for its many elephant sculptures. Overnight in Chiang Mai.
Day 5 - Chiang Mai
After breakfast, we make our way up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep for sweeping views across Chiang Mai. We take the included cable car to the hilltop — or you can choose to climb the 309–step naga staircase — then explore the temple complex. We continue to Wararot Market, a historic landmark known for the variety and quality of its products, before visiting the nearby flower market. In the evening, we gather for an included khan toke dinner — a traditional northern Thai feast paired with cultural performances inspired by the Lanna kingdom, which dominated northern Thailand for almost five centuries. Overnight in Chiang Mai.
Day 6 - Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai
After breakfast, we depart Chiang Mai for the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary (Grand Canyon). Following a safety and orientation briefing, we take part in an ethical experience focused on elephant care, conservation and observation. Learn about the sanctuary’s mission while watching the elephants in a natural environment where their welfare and freedom of movement are prioritised, with time to capture meaningful photos. After lunch, we travel by road via Doi Saket and stop at Wat Rong Khun – the dazzling ‘White Temple’ created in the 1990s – whose intricate all white exterior is inlaid with mirrored glass, making it one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand. We then continue to Chiang Rai, arriving in the afternoon and transferring to your accommodation. Overnight in Chiang Rai.
Day 7 - Chiang Rai - Phuket - Bangkok
After breakfast we check out and drive to Chiang Saen for a panoramic view of the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet at the Mekong River. We then board a boat for a cruise around the Golden Triangle lasting around 30 minutes, followed by lunch at a local restaurant – included. In the afternoon we transfer to Chiang Rai Airport for our flight to Bangkok, then connect with our onward flight to Phuket – both domestic flights are included. On arrival in Phuket, we transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Phuket.
Day 8 - Phuket
We start the day with breakfast, then you have a full free day in Phuket. You can relax by the pool or on the beach, or opt for activities that suit your interests – island hopping to Phi Phi or James Bond Island is within easy reach – and you can also explore local temples and historic colonial mansions at your own pace. Your local representative can advise on options and organise any arrangements. Overnight in Phuket.
Day 9 - Phuket
After breakfast at the hotel, you have the day at leisure to rest and recharge at your own pace – take it easy and enjoy as you wish. Overnight in Phuket.
Day 10 - Phuket
We begin with breakfast, then you have a full day at leisure to explore Phuket at your own pace – relax, sightsee or simply take it easy as you wish. Overnight in Phuket.
Day 11 - Phuket
Begin your final day with breakfast at the hotel – we then provide an unescorted transfer to Phuket Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
