Day 1 - Mindelo
Welcome to Cape Verde. Upon arrival at São Vicente International Airport, our English-speaking representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to your hotel in Mindelo. If you prefer to rest after your flight, you can relax at the hotel and enjoy its facilities. Alternatively, if you?re eager to begin exploring, you can venture out independently to discover local attractions, restaurants and shops. Mindelo is known for morna ? a soulful, rhythmic music style that emerged in the 18th century. Its most famous ambassador, Ces?ria ?vora, the ?Barefoot Diva,? was born here, and her legacy continues to resonate throughout the city. Morna has been recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage. Overnight in Mindelo.
Day 2 - Mindelo
After breakfast at the hotel, we begin your introduction to São Vicente's rich cultural scene with a three-hour guided walking tour of Mindelo's historic city centre, set on one of the world's most beautiful bays. You will visit key landmarks including Torre de Belém, the Municipal Market, the Ces?ria ?vora exhibition, and the Cultural Centre. Following the tour, you are free to explore the town at your leisure?perhaps sampling local dishes at a nearby restaurant or soaking up the vibrant atmosphere and the distinctive rhythms of morna music. Overnight in Mindelo.
Day 3 - Mindelo - Caibros de Ribeira de Jorge
After breakfast, we will collect you from your hotel at 8:00 am and transfer you to São Vicente Harbour to board the ferry to Santo Ant?o. Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and begin exploring this remarkable island. The day starts with a short trek near the Cova volcano crater, offering stunning views over the island's lush valleys, including Passagem. We then travel through Pico da Cruz, where the scent of pine forests and panoramic vistas over the Valley de Paul provide a refreshing pause. Next, we visit Ribeira Grande before continuing to Ponta do Sol for a lunch break (lunch included; drinks at your own expense). After lunch, we explore Fontainhas and conclude the day with a visit to Paul Valley. You will then be driven back to the harbour to catch the ferry returning to São Vicente, followed by a transfer to your hotel in Mindelo for overnight.
Day 4 - Mindelo
After breakfast, we collect you from your hotel at 9:00 am for a scenic drive around São Vicente Island. The journey begins with a panoramic route to Calhau, followed by a stop at Ba?a das Gatas, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim. On the way back, we pass through the fishing village of Salamansa, offering insight into local life. This four-hour excursion provides a well-rounded view of the island's natural beauty and community. In the afternoon, you are free to explore Mindelo at your leisure and soak up the creative atmosphere on your final evening here. Overnight in Mindelo.
Day 5 - Mindelo
After breakfast, bid farewell to São Vicente. If time allows, take a final stroll through the streets of Mindelo before checking out of your hotel. At the arranged time, we will collect you from the hotel and transfer you to São Vicente Airport for your return flight home.
