Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Guilin
Upon arrival in Guilin, we are met by our local guide and driver before transferring to the hotel - a journey of approximately 50 minutes. After check-in, the remainder of the day is at leisure, allowing you to rest after your journey or begin exploring the city at your own pace.
Day 2 - Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces Experience
After breakfast at the hotel, we travel to the spectacular Longji Rice Terraces, also known as the Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces. The name reflects the landscape - the layered fields resemble a dragon’s scales, while the surrounding mountains form its backbone. Renowned as one of the most beautiful rice terrace systems in the world, the area offers striking views and insight into traditional farming practices that have shaped the region for centuries.
Lunch is served at a local restaurant before we return to Guilin later the same day. Dinner is at your leisure this evening.
Day 3 - Li River Cruise and Yangshuo Highlights
Guilin - Yangshuo - Guilin. Following breakfast, we board a cruise for a scenic journey along the Li River, one of China’s most celebrated natural landscapes and famously depicted on the 20 RMB note. The river has been recognised by National Geographic as one of the world’s top watery wonders and named by CNN as one of the world’s best rivers for travellers.
The cruise travels from Zhujiang Wharf to Yangshuo and takes approximately four hours. Along the way, we enjoy ever-changing views of limestone hills, bamboo groves, clear waters, traditional fishing boats with cormorants, and quiet riverside villages.
Lunch is served on board. On arrival in Yangshuo, we take time to explore the local market, offering a glimpse into regional produce and food culture. We also stroll along West Street, Yangshuo’s oldest street, now a lively shopping area and an excellent place to browse for souvenirs.
Later, we transfer back to Guilin.
Day 4 - Farewell Guilin
After breakfast at the hotel, you have free time at leisure until the scheduled transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
