Day 1 - Beijing
Arriving in Beijing, you'll be warmly welcomed to China. We'll arrange your transfer to the hotel, ensuring a smooth start to your visit. In the early evening, we'll explore the bustling Wangfujing Street, a well-known pedestrian thoroughfare teeming with shops and diverse dining options. This lively street offers the perfect introduction to the city's vibrant atmosphere. Dinner is included, after which we'll head back to the hotel for a restful evening, ready for the adventures ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Beijing
Our day in Beijing promises a wealth of exploration as we dive into the heart of China's bustling capital. We embark on a full-day tour to uncover some of the city's iconic landmarks. Our first stop is the majestic Forbidden City, or the Great Chinese Imperial Palace, a stunning architectural marvel that served as the home of 24 emperors over nearly five centuries. Next, we head to Jingshan Park, an imperial garden offering one of the finest vantage points in Beijing – on a clear day, you can savour the panoramic vistas of the Forbidden City from Coal Hill. Continuing our journey, we will stroll through Tiananmen Square, one of the globe's most expansive public spaces, from which you can admire the impressive Great National Theatre also known as the Beijing Opera House. An included lunch provides a break during our explorations. Our day unfolds further with a visit to the enchanting Summer Palace, celebrated for its beautiful gardens and tranquil lakes, once a retreat for the Qing Dynasty emperors. In the afternoon, experience traditional Beijing life as we take a tricycle ride through the historic Hutong neighbourhoods, known for their unique cultural heritage. During our exploration, we'll wander through quaint shops and enjoy a peek into a Siheyuan, a classic courtyard home displaying traditional architecture. Our day concludes with a return to the hotel for an overnight stay. Please be advised, heritage protection rules mean the Forbidden City has a restricted number of visitors each day. If we cannot gain entry, we will explore the Confucius and Lama Temples instead, both equally remarkable for their historical significance and cultural richness in China.
Day 3 - Beijing
Today's adventure takes us to one of the world's most remarkable sites – the Great Wall of China, specifically the Mutianyu section. This extraordinary feat of engineering spans over two millennia of history, stretching across stunning mountainous landscapes. We will ascend and descend via cable car, providing us with breathtaking views of this iconic structure.On our return to Beijing, we'll explore the vibrant 798 Art District. Once a military factory, this area has been transformed into a lively hub of modern art, with numerous galleries, studios, and creative spaces.Our journey continues to the Temple of Heaven, one of China's largest and most significant sacred sites. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this architectural marvel was where emperors would pray for bountiful harvests.To relax after this active day, we'll indulge in a soothing foot massage followed by a Tai Chi class – a perfect way to experience the tranquillity and balance of traditional Chinese culture. We will conclude our day with a lacquered duck dinner, a local speciality that will provide a memorable finale to our time in Beijing.
Day 4 - Beijing - Seoul
Following breakfast, we'll arrange your transfer to the airport for your flight to Seoul. Welcome to Korea! Upon arrival, you will head to your hotel to meet our guide. This evening, we will begin our exploration of this captivating country. Together with our guide, you'll get accustomed to the modern and efficient subway system as we travel to City Hall, a remarkable building resembling a tsunami. Just across the way, you'll find Deoksugung Palace, beautifully illuminated at night, offering a glimpse of Korea's unique harmony between tradition and modernity. From here, we'll walk to the Myeongdong neighbourhood, renowned as the country’s most vibrant and expansive shopping district—its name translating to "bright tunnel." Dinner will be provided at a local restaurant.
Day 5 - Seoul
Today, we embark on a captivating five-hour tour of Seoul, beginning with a visit to Changdeokgung Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its majestic architecture and serene garden setting. Our exploration continues with a glimpse into traditional Korean life as we pass by Bukchon Hanok Village, a charming historic neighbourhood characterised by well-preserved hanok houses. Next, we delve into Korea's rich history at the War Memorial of Korea, an impressive museum offering profound insights into various conflicts, particularly the Korean War, which saw soldiers from numerous countries unite under the United Nations.After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, we'll head to the bustling Gangnam District, famous for its vibrant shopping centres and entertainment venues. Our day concludes with a visit to the Lotte World Tower, an architectural marvel that soars 550 metres into the sky. You'll have free time to ascend the tower (please note, the ticket is not included) for a panoramic view of the city or to explore the adjacent park and luxury shopping malls at your leisure. We will then return to the hotel, where you'll have free time to unwind.
Day 6 - Seoul - Suwon - Jeonju
We commence the day with a visit to the magnificent Gyeongbokgung Palace, which holds over six centuries of history. Here, you may have the chance to witness the traditional changing of the guard ceremony, depending on the timing. Departing from Seoul, we journey south to Suwon, the former capital renowned for its UNESCO-listed fortress walls. We will have the opportunity to admire these impressive fortifications and explore Hwaseong Haenggung, the summer palace. Lunch will be provided before we continue our travels to Jeonju. In Jeonju, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the captivating historic centre, known as Hanok Village, where traditional houses, charming shops, and art galleries await discovery.
Day 7 - Jeonju - Damyang - Haeinsa - Busan
We will set off for Sunchang Gochujang Village at the foot of Mount Amisan, where traditional hanok houses and courtyards brim with clay pots known as hang-a-ri. This village is famed for its master artisans who skilfully craft gochujang, the renowned Korean chilli paste, using age-old methods. You will have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on workshop, learning to make this famous sauce yourself. Our travels then take us to Damyang, where we'll wander through the Juknokwon Bamboo Forest. The paths here are among the country's most attractive, offering an ideal environment for meditation and enjoying the crisp breeze. You'll also encounter a variety of bamboo products, celebrated within the Bamboo Museum. Lunch is included, featuring a local speciality—rice cooked and presented within a bamboo stalk. Enveloped by breathtaking mountain vistas and forests, we'll arrive at Haeinsa Temple, one of Korea's most respected Buddhist sanctuaries and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Established in 802, it houses the Tripitaka Koreana, the most complete set of Buddhist scriptures in the world, inscribed on 80,000 wooden blocks. Our journey concludes for the day in Busan, Korea's second-largest city, known for its lively atmosphere, where you will be staying overnight.
Day 8 - Busan
As we start the day in Busan, we'll head to the coastal Haedong Yonggung Temple, a serene 14th-century Buddhist site offering stunning views of the sea. Following this spiritual retreat, we'll return to Busan to pay our respects at the UN Memorial Cemetery, a significant resting place for international service members. Our exploration continues at the bustling fish market near Nampo Port, where the sights and sounds promise an authentic experience. After enjoying an included lunch, we’ll make our way to Yongdusan Park, with its impressive 120-metre-high pagoda. Later, we’ll relax at Songdo Beach and enjoy a ride on Korea's first marine cable car (ticket included, weather permitting), providing sweeping views of the picturesque bay. Our day concludes with a visit to the Gamcheon Culture Village, renowned for its vibrant, multicoloured buildings, creative art spaces, and inviting cafés. We’ll then return to Busan for the night.
Day 9 - Busan - Seokguram - Bulguksa - Gyeongju - Daegu
Today, we embark from Busan for a visit to the Seokguram Grotto, an exquisite 8th-century Buddhist site perched on the slopes of Tohamsan Mountain. Our journey continues to Bulguksa Temple, celebrated as one of the most beautiful temples in Korea, showcasing traditional architecture and serene landscapes. Later, we'll arrive in Gyeongju, a city steeped in history as the Korean capital for nearly a millennium under 56 kings. Here, you'll have the opportunity to capture stunning photographs of the elegant wooden Woljeonggyo Bridge spanning the Namcheon River. Lunch is included.Afterwards, we'll explore Tumuli Park, home to the ancient burial mounds of the Silla Kingdom's kings, some over 1,500 years old. You'll have the chance to visit one of these historic tombs, followed by a walk to the Cheomsongdae Astronomical Observatory, the oldest in East Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our day concludes with our arrival in Daegu, Korea's fourth most populous city. Before retreating to the hotel, we'll visit Dongsan Cheongna Hill, a historic locale once inhabited by Christian missionaries, and Dongseong-ro, a bustling commercial street known for its trendy shops, cafes, and restaurants. We will stay overnight in Daegu.
Day 10 - Daegu - Andong - Hahoe - Seoul
Our exploration of Daegu begins with a visit to the Yangnyeongsi Museum of Oriental Medicine, well-known for its comprehensive display of medicinal herbs. We’ll wander through the nearby Herbal Medicine Market, famous for its extensive range of herbal products, particularly high-quality ginseng. Our journey continues north to the outskirts of Andong, where the traditional Hahoe Village awaits. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a glimpse into Korea’s past, seemingly preserved in time. You can stroll through the village before discovering the Hahoe Mask Museum, which exhibits masks from across the globe, illustrating their historical use in dance, medicine, religious rituals, and theatre. After lunch at a local restaurant, we'll visit the Byeongsan Seowon Confucian Academy, established in the 16th century. The academy rests in a serene landscape by the river, providing a tranquil setting. As evening falls, we make our way back to Seoul. Weather permitting, we'll pause at Banpo Bridge on the Han River, where the fountain delights with a vibrant display of water and light. We’ll conclude the day with an overnight stay in Seoul. Please note, the visit to Banpo Bridge is dependent on the weather.

As the day begins with breakfast, our journey reaches its conclusion, leaving you with cherished memories from this remarkable adventure.
