Upon arrival in San José, a local representative will welcome you and assist with your transfer from the airport to your hotel. After checking in, you will have time to relax and settle into your room. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city and its surroundings at your own pace. Overnight in San José.

We begin the day with an early check-out from the hotel. At approximately 6:00 am, a local representative will collect you from the hotel lobby for a shared transfer to Tortuguero National Park on the North Caribbean Coast. Around 8:30 am, we pause for breakfast in Guápiles before continuing to La Pavona dock. Here, you will board a shared boat to the lodge, where you can settle into a peaceful and tranquil setting. Check-in is around 1:00 pm, followed by a delicious included lunch. At 2:30 pm, meet your guide for an expedition through the Tortuguero Canals – a highlight of the region. As we navigate the lagoons and narrower canals, you’ll have the chance to observe local wildlife up close. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to relax at leisure. Overnight in Tortuguero.

After breakfast at the lodge, meet your guide at 9:00 am for a walk along the lodge’s private trails, offering a close encounter with the local flora and fauna. You will then have some free time in the morning to relax by the pool or unwind at the lodge. In the afternoon, around 2:30 pm, join your guide for a visit to the small, charming village of Tortuguero, where you can explore its unique Caribbean atmosphere. Afterwards, return to the lodge to relax. Lunch and dinner are included at the lodge.

After breakfast at the lodge, check out and prepare for departure. At around 9:30 am, we take a shared transfer combining boat and land travel from Tortuguero to a restaurant in Guápiles city, where lunch is included. Following lunch, at approximately 1:30 pm, a local car rental representative will meet you at the restaurant to hand over your rental vehicle and provide all necessary information. You then drive yourself to La Fortuna de San Carlos, the gateway to the impressive Arenal Volcano. Upon arrival, around 4:00 pm, check in at your hotel and enjoy some free time to relax and make use of the hotel facilities.

Breakfast is included at the hotel. You have the day at leisure to relax or explore the Arenal region independently, taking in the natural surroundings and local attractions at your own pace. Overnight in Arenal.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and set off at your convenience on a self-drive journey to the Monteverde Cloud Forest region. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy some free time to unwind and explore the natural surroundings at your own pace. Overnight in Monteverde.

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day at your leisure to explore Monteverde. You might visit the renowned biological reserves, take a thrilling zipline tour above the forest canopy, stroll along the suspension bridges for panoramic views, or immerse yourself in local culture with a coffee plantation tour or a Costa Rican cooking class. Overnight in Monteverde.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive back to San José at your own pace. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and meet the local car rental representative in the lobby to return your vehicle at the arranged time. You will then have free time to relax or explore the capital city independently. Overnight in San José.

Around 6:00 am, meet your local guide in the hotel lobby for a full-day excursion to Tortuga Island, situated off the Nicoya Peninsula in Puntarenas Province. Enjoy breakfast en route to Puntarenas city, where you will board a catamaran for a scenic cruise along the coast. Onboard, relax to music and savour tropical snacks as you take in the ocean views. Upon arrival at Tortuga Island, spend time on the beach swimming, sunbathing and unwinding in the clear turquoise waters. Lunch is served on the beach. At approximately 3:00 pm, begin the return journey to San Jose by catamaran, enjoying the sunset over the water before continuing by road. Overnight in San Jose.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel. At the arranged time, a local representative will collect you from the lobby and provide shared transfer to Juan Santamaría International Airport for your departure flight home.
