
Croatia & Slovenia Land & Sea Exploration
Combine two capital cities and a Croatian island cruise on this 11-day tour from Zagreb to Dubrovnik. Zagreb's Upper Town and Ljubljana's Three Bridges come first. Next are Bled, with its emerald glacial lake and castle, and the 16 lakes and 92 waterfalls of Plitvice. From Omis, the cruise sails the Dalmatian coast to Split, Brac, Hvar, Vis and Korcula, stopping for swims in secluded bays along the way. Next comes Mljet, home to a national park with two salt lakes, and a Captain's Dinner on board. The trip ends in Dubrovnik.

Day 1 - Zagreb
Upon arrival at Zagreb Airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist with your transfer to the hotel. After checking in, you have the remainder of the day at your leisure to relax and explore the city at your own pace. Overnight accommodation is in Zagreb.
Day 2 - Zagreb - Ljubljana
After breakfast, we set off on a morning sightseeing tour of Zagreb, the Croatian capital. We explore the fortified Upper Town and the city's historical centre, where St Mark's Church catches the eye with its multi-coloured roof. We also see the Cathedral, the Croatian National Theatre and the University.
From here, we drive around 150 km (roughly 2 hours) to Ljubljana for an afternoon guided tour of the Slovenian capital. The old centre's most significant sights include the picturesque Central open-air market, the Three Bridges, the Baroque Town Hall and Robba's Fountain. Tonight is spent in the Ljubljana area.
Day 3 - Bled - Plitvice Lakes
This morning, after breakfast, we head for Bled, a small town in the Julian Alps that ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts. Mountains and forests surround an emerald glacial lake, giving it the look of a classic fairy tale. Here we visit Bled Castle, the oldest in Slovenia.
Leaving Bled, we continue to the Plitvice Lakes area, a day of around 360 km (roughly 4 hours) on the road. We have dinner and spend the night here.
Day 4 - Omis
The day starts with a morning walk around Plitvice Lakes, a well-known UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, 16 crystal-blue lakes cascade into 92 spectacular waterfalls.
Next, we drive around 240 km (roughly 2.5 hours) to Omis, where we board our cruise. The crew and Cruise Director welcome us with drinks and snacks and take us through the safety procedures.
You then have free time in Omis, perhaps for a wander through the town. This evening, we have dinner on board and spend the night moored in Omis.
Day 5 - Split - Milna
In the morning, we sail towards Split, the heart of Dalmatia. On arrival, you have the option of joining a walking tour through the historic centre, including the remarkable Diocletian's Palace. There is also free time to explore the city before the cruise continues.
Later, we sail on towards Milna on the Island of Brac, known for its peaceful harbour and traditional charm, and enjoy lunch on board. We spend the night in Milna.
Day 6 - Hvar
Today, we sail for Hvar Island, pausing in a secluded bay for a refreshing swim. When we reach the charming town of Hvar, you can join an optional sightseeing tour that takes in St Stephen's Square, the Cathedral, the Arsenal and the Spanish Fortress.
Hvar Island is known as one of the sunniest places in Europe, and its town is one of the oldest in Croatia. Its long history, fine architecture, cobbled streets and lively atmosphere win over every visitor. We spend the night in Hvar.
Day 7 - Vis
We begin by sailing to Vis, with a swim stop on the way and lunch on board. Once a secluded military enclave, Vis has only opened to the public in the past 35 years. It is now known for its spectacular scenery, renowned wines and exquisite Dalmatian cuisine.
You are free to explore the island's history and natural beauty independently. You can also join an optional excursion to Bisevo Island and the Blue Cave, or an optional military tour of Vis. We spend a tranquil night in Vis.
Day 8 - Korcula
Leaving Vis, we head for the Island of Korcula, pausing for a picturesque swim and lunch on board. The town is known for its history and culture, including the captivating Moreska sword dance. Legend has it that Korcula is also the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo.
On arrival, you can join an optional walking tour of Korcula Town. It starts at the historic Land Gate and winds through narrow alleyways lined with Renaissance buildings and artisan shops. You then take in the majestic Cathedral of St Mark before a stroll along the waterfront promenade, with panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea. We spend the night in Korcula.
Day 9 - Mljet
This morning, we set off for Mljet Island. On arrival, you have free time to explore Mljet National Park, one of Croatia's national treasures, known for its lush greenery and pristine natural beauty. The park is home to two salt lakes, where you can take a refreshing swim or a leisurely stroll along the shore. There are also opportunities for walking and biking around the lakeshore. An optional excursion is also available at an additional cost, which covers the park entrance fee.
In the evening, we come together for a Captain's Dinner, a special culinary experience that highlights local flavours and specialities.
Day 10 - Dubrovnik
We set sail for Dubrovnik, stopping for a revitalising swim in crystal-clear waters followed by lunch on board. We are due to arrive in Dubrovnik in the early afternoon.
Once there, you can join an optional tour through the Old Town to learn about the city's history and cultural heritage. It takes in iconic sights such as the city walls, Stradun, the Rector's Palace and the city gates. The impressive Lovrijenac Fortress is also well worth a visit for its sweeping views over the Adriatic Sea. We spend our final night on board.
Day 11 - Dubrovnik
You can start the day with a farewell breakfast, enjoying the last moments of your cruise. You then transfer to Dubrovnik Airport to continue with your travel arrangements.
Please note: If you are staying on in Dubrovnik, a transfer to another accommodation can also be arranged.
