Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Copenhagen

Once you have arrived in Copenhagen, a private transfer takes you directly to your accommodation. The rest of the day is yours to spend as you like - take a walk along the streets of this royal capital, and explore Stroget, the main street, lined with shops, bars and cafes, before returning to your accommodation for the night.
Days 2-3 - Christmas in Copenhagen

Over the next two days, you will enjoy breakfast at your accommodation, with two days to experience the Christmas atmosphere in the Danish capital.
You'll cruise around Copenhagen's harbour and idyllic canals, departing from Nyhavn or Gammel Strand, as a guide points out the city's beautiful churches, castles, historic houses, new buildings and other sights of interest, passing some of Copenhagen's best sights and attractions in their Christmas glory.
You'll also take part in one of Denmark's most loved festive traditions - enjoying glogg and aebleskiver in the elegant winter setting of Hotel D'Angleterre. It's a chance to combine classic Danish festive food with hygge, the Scandinavian feeling of warmth, comfort and togetherness. Every year from mid-November to the end of December, the historic hotel transforms into a festive landmark in central Copenhagen, its facade overlooking Kongens Nytorv illuminated with elaborate Christmas decorations that turn the square into a magical winter scene, drawing locals and visitors alike to one of the city's largest Christmas markets.
You'll round off your time in Copenhagen with a visit to Tivoli Gardens, where thousands of twinkling lights, decorated Christmas trees and sparkling ornaments fill the gardens. Pathways are lit with garlands and lanterns, the lake reflects the colourful lights of the rides and surrounding buildings, and large Christmas trees decorated in red, gold and silver stand throughout the grounds - with artificial snow, festive stalls and decorations completing the feel of a traditional Nordic Christmas village. You'll spend both nights at your accommodation in Copenhagen.
Please note: The canal cruise, festive hotel experience and Tivoli Gardens visit can each take place on either day of your stay in Copenhagen, depending on availability.
Day 4 - Copenhagen to Stockholm

Copenhagen (Denmark) - Stockholm (Sweden). After breakfast, walk to the railway station for your train to Stockholm, the Swedish capital - a scenic journey of around six and a half hours in second class.
On arrival, you'll make your own way to your accommodation. The rest of the day is yours to spend as you like - take a walk along the streets and explore the city of the royal family, including the main Drottninggatan, or Queen Street, with its many shops, bars and cafes, before an overnight stay at your accommodation.
Days 5-6 - Christmas in Stockholm

You will enjoy the festivities of Stockholm over the next two days.
You'll cruise from Stromkajen in the centre of the city, leaving the inner city behind as you pass beautiful, well-known buildings and enter the peaceful Djurgarden canal. Along the way you'll take in historical buildings, museums and beautiful natural areas in their winter splendour, before a fabulous view of Stockholm's holiday skyline opens up on the way home - a sight only visible from the water.
You'll also visit Skansen Open-Air Museum. Established in 1891 as the world's first open-air museum, Skansen becomes a magical winter destination at Christmas, blending Swedish tradition with festive atmosphere and history. Over 150 historic buildings fill the museum, many decorated for the season, creating an immersive journey back to how Swedes celebrated Christmas centuries ago, with each area showcasing the festive traditions of a different Swedish region.
You'll round off your time in Stockholm with a two-hour Christmas Walking Tour, led by a local guide, in a small group of up to ten people. On the tour, you'll learn about the history of the Old Town's Christmas Market and other markets around Stockholm, the story of how Christmas is celebrated in Sweden - its food, traditions, celebrations and winter activities - and the origins of the Dalarna toy horse, Jultomten (the Swedish Santa gnome) and the St Lucia ceremony, rounded off with Swedish pastry tasting and mulled wine. You'll spend both nights at your accommodation in Stockholm.
Please note: The canal cruise, Skansen visit and Christmas Walking Tour can each take place on either day of your stay in Stockholm, depending on availability.
Day 7 - Stockholm to Copenhagen
Stockholm (Sweden) - Copenhagen (Denmark). After breakfast, make your own way to the railway station for your train back to Copenhagen.
On arrival, you'll again make your own way to your accommodation, with the rest of the day free to spend as you like, before an overnight stay at your accommodation.
Day 8 - Departure from Copenhagen
You can start the day with breakfast, then take one last stroll around the city - a good chance to pick up some Viking souvenirs before you go.
A private transfer then takes you to Copenhagen Airport for your onward journey.
