Welcome to Denmark, the oldest kingdom in Europe. Upon arrival in Copenhagen, you'll be transferred to your hotel in the city centre. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, exploring the charming streets and discovering the city's hidden treasures.
Copenhagen (Denmark) - Oslo (Norway). You will have the morning at leisure to further explore Copenhagen, look for Viking souvenirs, or relax at the hotel or at a restaurant. Alternatively, enjoy a canal tour through Copenhagen, where you'll pass iconic landmarks like Nyhavn, Amalienborg Palace, the Little Mermaid, and the Black Diamond, while learning about the city's history and architecture.
In the afternoon, make your way to the DFD Cruise Terminal for your overnight cruise to Oslo. As you sail along the scenic waters, enjoy stunning views of Norway’s rugged coastline, charming seaside villages, and dramatic fjords. Keep an eye out for picturesque islands, lush greenery, and native wildlife. Spend the night onboard.
Upon disembarkment in Oslo, Norway, you will have the next two days at your leisure to explore Oslo at your own pace. Upon disembarkment in Oslo, make your way to the hotel in the city centre for check-in.
You can explore the Royal Palace, Akershus Fortress, and take a stroll through Frogner Park. Visit the lively Karl Johan’s Street, lined with shops, bars, and cafés.
We recommend the 24-hour Oslo Pass, which grants free travel on public transport and access to most of the city’s museums, including Oslo City Hall, the Fram Museum, the Kon-Tiki Museum, and the Nobel Peace Center. Additionally, you can visit the iconic Vigeland Sculpture Park, enjoy stunning views from the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, or explore the Munch Museum to see works by Edvard Munch, including "The Scream."
Oslo - Myrdal - Naeroyfjord - Flam - Gudvangen - Flam. This morning, make your way to the Oslo train station, where you will board a train to uncover the beauty of the fjords of Norway.
You will journey across the high plateau of Hardangervidda before arriving in Myrdal, where you'll board the Flåmsbana, one of the world's steepest railway lines. This scenic ride takes you through stunning landscapes, past the historic Rallar Road, towering mountains, cascading waterfalls, and through 20 tunnels, offering breathtaking viewpoints along the way to Flam.
Once in Flam, check into your hotel before cruising through the UNESCO-listed Naeroyfjord. Surrounded by towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and charming villages like Undredal, this serene journey offers breathtaking views of Norway’s most dramatic fjord landscape making our way to Gudvangen. Once you have arrived in Gudvangen, you will return to Flam by bus. The rest of the day will be at your leisure.
Flam - Bergen. After breakfast, you can spend your morning exploring the scenic walking and hiking trails around the picturesque village of Flam. Nestled between towering mountains and deep fjords, Flam offers stunning routes through lush valleys, past cascading waterfalls, and along the shores of the Aurlandsfjord. Take in the breathtaking views, visit the charming Flam Church, or simply soak in the tranquility of this beautiful natural setting.
Later, board the Flamsbana for a breathtaking ride through steep mountains, deep valleys, and cascading waterfalls to Bergen. Once you have arrived in Bergen in the evening, make your way to the hotel, where you will have the rest of the day at leisure.
Today, you have a day at leisure to explore Bergen, the gateway to the Fjords of Norway. You can enjoy the charm of Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stroll through the fish market, or wander through the narrow alleys lined with colorful wooden houses. You can also visit the Bergenhus Fortress, explore the vibrant neighborhoods, or relax in the beautiful parks. For panoramic views, walk up to Mount Fløien. You can also explore the local museums, such as the Hanseatic Museum and the Bergen Art Museum.
Bergen (Norway) - Hirsthals (Denmark). After breakfast, you can enjoy some free time to explore Bergen at your leisure. You can visit the historic Bryggen Wharf, or the famous Fish Market, before embarking on an overnight cruise along the Norwegian coast to Denmark.
In the afternoon, make your way to the harbour, where you will embark on your overnight cruise heading south towards the Danish Peninsula, Jutland. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the rugged Norwegian coastline, charming coastal villages, and the tranquil waters of the North Sea. The cruise offers a relaxing journey, with opportunities to witness stunning sunsets and vast open landscapes as you sail southward.
Hirsthals - Aalborg - Aarhus. Arriving in Hirtshals, located on Denmark’s west coast, you will disembark at the port terminal and board a bus for a 1.5 hour journey to Aalborg, a charming provincial city in Jutland. Here, you will have some free time to explore and enjoy lunch before your train journey to Aarhus, which takes approximately one and a half hours.
Arriving in the second largest city in the country, Aarhus, make your way to the hotel. Aarhus is known for being a vibrant, youthful city with 40,000 students and a hub of art and culture.
After breakfast, you will have the day at leisure to explore. You can explore the ARoS Art Museum, renowned for its striking architecture and impressive collection of modern art. Stroll through the vibrant city centre, where you'll discover an eclectic mix of hip boutiques, cozy cafés, antique stores, and art galleries.
Don't miss the stunning Aarhus Cathedral, the longest and tallest of its kind in Denmark. For a glimpse into Denmark’s past, visit Den Gamle By, an open-air museum that re-creates historic Danish life.
You can also relax at the scenic Botanic Garden, explore the Moesgaard Museum, or visit the lively harbour area for dining and shopping options.
Aarhus - Copenhagen. This morning, you will have some free time to further explore Aarhus, find some souvenirs, and relax at a cafe or restaurant; the choice is yours.
In the afternoon, you will depart by bus, which will take you to the ferry terminal, where the bus will be loaded onto the ferry. You will sail from Aarhus back to Sjælland Island for just over an hour. Upon arrival in Odden, you will disembark and board a bus for the journey back to Copenhagen. (The full journey, including the boat ride is approximately 3.5 hours)
Once you have arrived in Copenhagen, you will have the rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast, you’ll have the chance to discover Copenhagen’s unique blend of history and modern charm, if you didn't have enough time earlier in the tour. Visit the famous Little Mermaid, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s tale, and admire the grand Amalienborg Palace, the royal family’s residence. Take a leisurely stroll through Nyhavn, once a bustling trade port, now a vibrant waterfront lined with colourful townhouses, cosy cafés, and lively restaurants. Keep an eye out for house no. 20, the former home of H.C. Andersen. In the summer months, Nyhavn’s lively atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring.
If time allows, you’ll have the chance to experience Copenhagen like a true local. The city is renowned for its deep-rooted cycling culture, dating back to the 1880s. As you explore, you’ll see men and women commuting by bike, while children ride in cargo bicycles alongside their parents on the way to school—a way of life that perfectly embodies Copenhagen’s love for two wheels.
After breakfast, depending on your departure flight time, you may have some time to do your final souvenir shopping, explore, or relax in Copenhagen before your departure transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
