Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris. Upon arrival, we’ll transfer you to your hotel where you’ll have some free time to settle in and relax. In the afternoon, you’ll find all the information about the start of your tour displayed on the notice boards at the hotel reception, helping you prepare for the days ahead.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Paris
We begin the day exploring the grandeur of the Palace of Versailles, famed for its magnificent gardens and significant role in French history (admission not included). Upon returning to Paris, we visit Montmartre, a quaint bohemian district known for its artistic heritage, lively cafés and historic cabarets. To capture the full scope of the city’s splendour, we then take a panoramic tour with a local guide, showcasing Paris’s broad avenues and iconic landmarks. Afterwards, we return to the hotel. In the evening, you may choose to enjoy an optional variety show.
Day 3 - Paris
We’ll begin the day in central Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. You’ll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor of this renowned iron landmark, with tickets included. Following this, we’ll take a relaxing boat cruise along the Seine, lasting approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, offering a fresh perspective of the city from the water. The afternoon is then yours to explore Paris at your leisure. Please note, transfers back to the hotel are not included this afternoon. If wait times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, we may adjust the visit to a different time or day for your convenience.
Day 4 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
Today, we travel to the heart of France, passing through the Burgundy region, celebrated for its scenic vineyards and exceptional wines. Our first stop is Beaune, a charming town in the centre of Burgundy, known for its flower-lined streets, historic hospice, and wine museum. You’ll have free time for lunch and to explore the town at your leisure. Afterwards, we continue to Lyon, the former capital of Roman Gaul, situated on the banks of the Rhône River. Lyon’s historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We’ll take a cable car to Notre-Dame de Fourvière, where we can admire stunning views over the city. You will then have some free time to explore Lyon independently. Please note, in some cases part of the group may stay overnight in Chambéry, a nearby city known for its medieval character and impressive castle, with a morning visit included before continuing.
Day 5 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today, we travel to Switzerland, arriving in Geneva where we will pass the Palace of Nations, the European headquarters of the United Nations. We will visit the English Garden to see the iconic flower clock and admire the Jet d?Eau, the tallest fountain in Europe. After lunch, our journey continues along the scenic shores of Lake Geneva and Lake Neuch?tel through the Three Lakes region, known for its vineyards set against stunning mountain backdrops. We will stop in Neuch?tel, where you can take a lakeside walk, explore the historic town centre, or visit its impressive 10th-century castle. Our day concludes in Zurich, arriving in the late afternoon. Please note, depending on the number of travellers, the Geneva to Zurich transfer may be by train, which would mean no stop in Neuch?tel.
Day 6 - Zurich
We’ll explore Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city and its financial and cultural centre, guided throughout the morning. Known for its banking industry, Zurich has twice been named the city with the best quality of life worldwide. Afterwards, we’ll take a scenic cruise on Lake Zurich lasting nearly two hours, making brief stops to visit charming lakeside villages along the way. We disembark in Rapperswil, a picturesque town famed for its medieval castle. From there, we’ll return to Zurich by train, providing a chance to experience the efficiency of the Swiss railway system. Depending on group size, transfers to and from the city centre may be by public transport.
Day 7 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today we travel through some of Switzerland’s most breathtaking scenery, with towering mountains and crystal-clear lakes. Our first stop is Grindelwald, where we’ll have time to enjoy a coffee before taking a cable car up the mountain. From there, we’ll follow a winding path to a suspended bridge that offers spectacular views of the surrounding glaciers—those feeling adventurous can cross it. Lunch is included on the mountain before we descend and continue to Lucerne. You’ll have some free time to explore this beautiful city, famous for its medieval architecture and lakeside setting. We’ll then return to Zurich. There is also an optional full-day excursion available, beginning in the morning, which includes additional free time in Lucerne followed by a rotating cable car ride to the summit of Mount Titlis. At over 3,000 metres, this alpine peak provides stunning views of glaciers and the Alps.
Day 8 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
We depart Zurich early, crossing the Alps to reach the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Our first stop is Bellinzona, famous for its trio of medieval castles, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These hilltop fortresses underscore the town’s historic role as a key alpine stronghold. You’ll have some free time to explore Bellinzona’s charming streets. Next, we enter Italy and stop in the lakeside town of Como for lunch. Known as the jewel of Lombardy, Como is celebrated for its beautiful gardens and striking cathedral. We then continue to Milan, where our guide will introduce us to the impressive Piazza del Duomo. You’ll have some time to explore the area before we transfer you to the hotel for the evening.
Day 9 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
Today we travel from Milan to Pisa, where we take a small tourist train to the Piazza dei Miracoli, known as the Square of Miracles. Here, you’ll have time to admire this remarkable complex, including the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Later, we continue our journey to Rome, arriving in the evening.
Day 10 - Rome
In the morning, we’ll set out on a three-hour guided tour of Rome, combining a walking exploration of Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride through the city. We’ll see key landmarks including the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant’Angelo. The tour concludes at Vatican City around 11 a.m., where you may choose to join an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, we’ll include a transfer to the lively Trastevere district, known for its cosy restaurants and vibrant atmosphere. We’ll return to the hotel by approximately 8.30 p.m.
Day 11 - Rome - Florence
We leave Rome this morning and travel north through scenic landscapes to Florence. Upon arrival, we head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo to take in sweeping views of the city. Afterwards, we walk down to the historic centre and enjoy some free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we take a guided walking tour with a local expert, visiting key sites including the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. Florence truly feels like an open-air museum. Later, you’ll have time to explore at your leisure and choose from the many restaurants in the area for dinner.
Day 12 - Florence - Venice
Today, we’ll cross the Apennine Mountains, enjoying stunning mountain scenery along the way. Upon arrival in Venice, we’ll take a boat across the Giudecca Canal to the historic island. With a local guide, we’ll explore the magnificent St. Mark’s Square before visiting the Murano Glass Factory, where you’ll witness the traditional methods of this ancient craft. You’ll then have some free time to explore Venice independently. Accommodation is in the Mestre district for the night.
Day 13 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We depart Venice and travel to Austria, arriving in Innsbruck. Here, you’ll have time to explore the historic city centre and enjoy lunch in the Tyrolean capital. Afterwards, we continue along scenic mountain roads to Kitzbühel, a renowned ski resort village where you can take a stroll and soak in the alpine atmosphere. We then journey on to Salzburg, arriving by the end of the day. Note: If the group is small, travel from Venice to Innsbruck may be by train.
Day 14 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
We begin the day exploring Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart, known for its well-preserved Renaissance and Baroque architecture centred around the impressive fortress. Afterwards, we travel through scenic lakes and mountain landscapes to reach St. Wolfgang, a historic pilgrimage destination. Continuing on to Traunkirchen by Lake Traunsee, we take a included boat cruise to view four castles along the lake before disembarking in Gmunden. From there, we journey onward to Vienna, arriving in the evening.
Day 15 - Vienna
Today we’ll take a panoramic tour of Vienna with a local guide, exploring its grand avenues, elegant palaces, expansive parks, and lively city centre. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to discover the city at your own pace. This evening, we’ll include a transfer to the Grinzing district – a historic former wine village now part of Vienna, famed for its traditional taverns. You’ll have the evening free to enjoy dinner in this charming area.
Day 16 - Vienna - Budapest
We’ll depart Vienna and travel for approximately three hours to Budapest, Hungary’s vibrant capital. On arrival, you’ll have free time for lunch in the lively Váci utca area, known for its shops and cafes. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a included boat trip on the Danube River, offering excellent views of historic Buda on one bank and the bustling Pest on the other. Following the cruise, we’ll begin a panoramic tour of Budapest, often called the “Queen of the Danube,” highlighting its key landmarks. You’ll have some free time in the afternoon to explore independently. In the evening, there is an optional dinner and traditional Magyar show.
Day 17 - Budapest - Bratislava - Prague
We leave Budapest early in the morning and travel to Bratislava, Slovakia’s capital, situated on the banks of the Danube. You’ll have time to explore the city’s attractive historic centre and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Continuing to the Czech Republic, we arrive in Prague in the evening. We’ll transfer you to Old Town Square, the vibrant heart of the city, perfect for an introduction to Prague’s lively atmosphere and many dining options. You can choose from a variety of international restaurants offering Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian cuisine before we return to the hotel.
Day 18 - Prague
Today, we explore Prague, often called the Baroque jewel of Europe. A local guide will take us on a panoramic tour, showcasing the city’s most remarkable landmarks. We’ll visit Prague Castle, with admission included, to discover its rich history and architectural splendour. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a relaxing boat ride along the Vltava River, providing a unique perspective of the city’s skyline. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore Prague at your own pace.
Day 19 - Prague - Pilsen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
We’ll depart early from Prague and head to Pilsen in western Bohemia, a city famed for its beer heritage. You’ll have time to explore the historic centre, including the Old Town Square, the cathedral, the Plague Column, and the Renaissance-style town hall. Continuing into Germany, we’ll travel along part of the Romantic Road to the enchanting town of Rothenburg, widely regarded as one of the country’s most beautiful villages. Afterwards, we’ll proceed to Frankfurt, the financial heart of Germany. Upon arrival in the evening, you’ll have free time to enjoy the historic city centre and choose from a wide range of restaurants serving Indian, Asian, Italian and other international cuisines.
Day 20 - Frankfurt
After breakfast, your tour concludes in Frankfurt. We’ll ensure your departure arrangements run smoothly, leaving you with lasting memories of your journey.
