Day 1 - Paris
Upon your arrival in Paris, we will organise a transfer to your hotel, providing you with some time to unwind and explore at leisure. In the afternoon, we'll ensure you receive all the necessary details about the commencement of your tour. This information will either be given in person or can be found via the information signs at the hotel reception, allowing you to plan and prepare for the exciting days ahead. Enjoy your initial evening in the captivating city of Paris as you settle in. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
Our second day invites us to delve into the rich tapestry of French history at the splendid Palace of Versailles, famous for its opulent gardens. Entry is not included, so you'll have the opportunity to explore at your leisure. Upon our return to Paris, we will meander through Montmartre, a charming bohemian quarter celebrated for its artists, painters, and lively cabarets. Continuing our adventure, we will experience a panoramic city tour guided by a local expert, offering a captivating glimpse of Paris’s grand boulevards and renowned landmarks. The day concludes as we return to the hotel, refreshed and ready for an optional variety show in the evening if it piques your interest.
Day 3 - Paris - Rouen
Our day begins in the heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, where tickets to the second floor are included, allowing us to admire panoramic views of the city. Following this, we’ll unwind with a tranquil cruise along the Seine River. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at leisure, with countless cultural experiences, shopping opportunities, and culinary delights waiting to be discovered.In the late afternoon, around 4:00 p.m., we will leave Paris for Normandy, heading to the historic city of Rouen. Here, you'll have time to wander through the city's ancient streets, rich with history dating back to Roman times. Rouen's medieval architecture and its remarkable Gothic cathedral provide a captivating backdrop for your explorations, promising a taste of French history and culture. Please note, if wait times at the Eiffel Tower are unexpectedly long, we may reschedule this visit for your convenience.
Day 4 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
Today, we'll begin with a leisurely walk through the heart of Rouen, a city steeped in history and renowned for its striking medieval architecture and Gothic cathedral. Following our exploration, we'll set off towards northern France. We will board a ferry to cross the English Channel, reaching Canterbury, celebrated as the religious capital of England and known for its enchanting historic centre. Our journey continues to London, where you'll have some free time in the vicinity of Tower Bridge, a symbol of the city. Once you've had time to soak in the vibrant atmosphere, we will make our way to the hotel for the evening.
Day 5 - London
Today, we'll embark on a captivating panoramic tour of London with a local guide, exploring the city's rich cultural and historical tapestry. You will see iconic landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, the expansive River Thames, and the splendid Buckingham Palace. If timing allows, you might even witness the traditional Changing of the Guard. In the evening, we'll gather at a designated meeting point in Piccadilly to enjoy a leisurely stroll through the vibrant areas of Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho. These areas are well known for their theatres, bustling atmosphere, and diverse entertainment options. You'll have the opportunity to choose from a variety of restaurants for dinner before we return to the hotel.
Day 6 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
We begin our day in London with a visit to the esteemed British Museum, one of the oldest museums in the world. Here, we’ll explore its vast collection that chronicles cultures from across the globe. Following a leisurely lunch break, during which you'll have time to discover some of London's culinary offerings, we head to Camden. This district is famous for its lively and eclectic street market, offering a diverse range of unique items. It's also a fantastic spot to grab a bite at one of the various eateries or food stalls.In the afternoon, around 4:00 p.m., we depart for Colchester, acknowledged as the oldest recorded town in England. You'll enjoy a relaxing walk through Colchester’s historic streets before our journey takes us to Harwich. Here, we embark on an overnight ferry to the Netherlands, where we’ll stay in comfortable en suite cabins. Please note that due to ferry cabin availability, we may adjust our itinerary, possibly opting for a daytime ferry to Amsterdam with an overnight stay in Antwerp, or travelling by train or flight.
Day 7 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
At approximately 8:00 a.m., we will disembark at Hoek van Holland and make our way to Volendam, a charming fishing village known for its traditional architecture and vibrant harbour. Following this visit, we will proceed to Amsterdam, where a panoramic tour will introduce us to the city's most famous sights and its renowned diamond-cutting craft. In the evening, we will provide a transfer to Rembrandtplein, a lively square dotted with restaurants offering a wide range of international cuisines. Located nearby is the famous Red Light District, offering a diverse nightlife scene for you to explore at your own pace.
Day 8 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
After leaving Amsterdam, we head towards Germany, with our first stop in the enchanting town of Hamelin. Famous for its connection to the Brothers Grimm's tale of the Pied Piper, Hamelin's charming streets and shops evoke the magic of this enduring story. From Hamelin, we continue our journey, making our way towards Berlin. On our route, we pass through Marienborn, a significant historical site that once marked the division between East and West Germany until the country’s reunification in 1990. We arrive in Berlin by evening, ready to explore the vibrant capital, rich in history and culture.
Day 9 - Berlin
Delve into the vibrant culture of Berlin, Germany's dynamic capital, on a guided tour. From the comfort of our coach, you will glimpse iconic sights such as Museum Island, the gleaming Television Tower, bustling city centre shopping streets, and the historic, war-damaged cathedral. We'll also see renowned landmarks including the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag, nestled amidst the city's expansive green spaces. Today, we will set off on a scenic drive through lush forests en route to Dresden, a city celebrated for its extraordinary architectural and artistic heritage. Dresden is truly one of Germany's must-see destinations. You'll have ample time to marvel at some of its stunning palaces and enjoy a leisurely lunch in one of the city's numerous restaurants or cafés. Later, we'll continue our journey towards the Czech Republic, arriving in the enchanting city of Prague. Upon arrival, we'll visit the lively Old Town Square, a hub of energy and activity that's perfect for an introduction to this beautiful city. Here, you can dine at a variety of restaurants offering cuisine ranging from traditional Czech to international favourites like Chinese, Indian, and Italian. After this delightful experience, we'll return to the hotel to conclude our day.
Day 11 - Prague
Today, we delve into the captivating beauty of Prague, hailed as the Baroque jewel of Europe. Accompanied by our knowledgeable local guide, we'll embark on a panoramic tour that unveils the city's most remarkable monuments. A highlight of our exploration includes a visit to the majestic Prague Castle, with admission included. Following our castle visit, we'll enjoy a tranquil boat cruise along the Vltava River, an ideal way to take in the city's picturesque views. In the afternoon, feel free to meander through Prague at your leisure, discovering its unique charms and hidden treasures at your own pace.
Day 12 - Prague
