Day 1 - Frankfurt
Upon arrival in Frankfurt, we’ll transfer you to your hotel where you’ll have some free time to settle in. In the afternoon, information about the start of your tour will be available on the notice boards at the hotel reception to help you prepare for the days ahead.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Amsterdam
We begin the day with a scenic cruise along the most picturesque stretch of the Rhine, travelling between the charming villages of Rüdesheim and St. Goar. Afterwards, we continue to Cologne, renowned for its stunning Gothic cathedral that dominates the skyline. Later, we cross into the Netherlands, arriving in Amsterdam by evening.
Day 3 - Amsterdam
Today we’ll visit some of Holland’s most picturesque locations. Our first stop is Zaanse Schans, known for its charming houses, canals and traditional windmills. We’ll then travel to Volendam, a scenic fishing village famous for its maritime character. From Volendam, we take a short boat trip to Marken, a former island now connected to the mainland by a dike, where houses were originally built on stilts to protect against flooding. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of Amsterdam, which includes iconic sights such as a classic windmill and the Rembrandt statue, the elegant South District, and Museum Square, renowned for its diamond-cutting tradition. The tour concludes with a walk into the heart of the city, where you’ll have free time to explore Amsterdam’s canals, markets and cafés at your leisure.
Day 4 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
We leave Amsterdam and travel into Germany, stopping in Hamelin – a charming town famous for its connection to the Brothers Grimm’s Pied Piper legend, with quaint streets and shops to admire. Continuing our journey, we pass through Marienborn, once a border crossing between East and West Germany before reunification in 1990. We arrive in Berlin in the evening, ready to explore the vibrant capital.
Day 5 - Berlin
Today, we explore Berlin, Germany’s dynamic capital, with a local guide. From the coach, you’ll see key landmarks including Museum Island, the Television Tower, the city’s main shopping streets, the old cathedral damaged in World War II, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, and the expansive parks. We’ll make stops at the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum—two poignant sites reflecting the city’s complex 20th-century history. The afternoon is yours to discover Berlin at your own pace. Early evening, we provide a transfer to the vibrant Kantstrasse area, known for its lively atmosphere and diverse dining options.
Day 6 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
We travel through forested landscapes to Dresden, a city celebrated for its remarkable architecture and rich artistic heritage, making it one of Germany’s most popular destinations. You’ll have time to explore some of its grand palaces and enjoy lunch at one of the many local restaurants or cafés. Later, we continue into the Czech Republic, arriving in Prague. We’ll take you to the vibrant Old Town Square, an ideal place to get your first glimpse of the city’s bustling atmosphere and historic charm. You can choose to dine at one of the numerous nearby restaurants offering a variety of international cuisines before we return to the hotel for the night.
Day 7 - Prague
Today we explore Prague, renowned as one of Europe’s finest Baroque cities. Accompanied by a local guide, we’ll enjoy a panoramic tour that highlights the city’s most iconic landmarks. Included in the visit is Prague Castle, one of the largest castle complexes in the world, offering insight into centuries of history. Following the castle, we’ll take a relaxing boat ride on the Vltava River, providing a unique perspective of the city’s architecture. The afternoon is yours to discover Prague at your own pace—wander through its charming streets, visit museums, or simply enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
Day 8 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
We depart early for Bavaria, arriving in Munich around midday. You’ll have free time to explore the historic city centre and enjoy lunch independently. In the afternoon, we continue into Austria, reaching Innsbruck nestled in the heart of the Alps. You’ll have time to wander through the Old Town and the area around the Golden Roof, with an opportunity to dine here before the evening.
Day 9 - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We begin the day with a visit to the Swarovski Museum, where admission is included. Here, we explore the impressive gardens and discover the intricate process behind crafting these renowned crystal creations. Afterwards, you will have time to wander through the historic centre of Innsbruck at your leisure. Our journey continues along scenic mountain roads to Kitzbühel, a famous Tyrolean town known for its ski resort and the legendary Hahnenkamm Race, one of the most prestigious alpine skiing events. We will arrive in Salzburg by the end of the day.
Day 10 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
This morning, we’ll explore Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart. The city’s Renaissance and Baroque architecture surrounds the imposing fortress that overlooks the old town. Afterward, we’ll travel through scenic lakes and mountain landscapes to St. Wolfgang, a well-known Austrian pilgrimage site. From there, we continue to Traunkirchen on the shores of Lake Traunsee, where we’ll enjoy a cruise included in the itinerary. During the cruise, you’ll see four castles along the lake before we disembark in Gmunden. Our journey then takes us onwards to Vienna, where we’ll arrive in the evening.
Day 11 - Vienna
We’ll begin the day with a panoramic tour of Vienna led by a local guide. Expect to see the grand boulevards, stunning palaces, expansive parks and the bustling city centre, gaining a good sense of the city’s impressive architecture and atmosphere. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. Later, we’ll provide a transfer to the Grinzing district – once a separate wine-growing village, now part of the city and famous for its traditional wine taverns. You’ll have free time to enjoy dinner here in a lively, authentic setting.
Day 12 - Vienna - Budapest
We’ll travel for around three hours to reach Budapest, Hungary’s vibrant capital. Our first stop is Váci utca, a bustling pedestrian street where you’ll have free time for lunch. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy an included boat cruise on the Danube, offering excellent views of historic Buda and the lively Pest across the river. Following the cruise, we’ll take a panoramic tour of the city known as the “Queen of the Danube.” You’ll have some free time later to explore at your own pace. In the evening, there’s an optional outing to a traditional Magyar show, including dinner.
Day 13 - Budapest
After breakfast, your tour concludes, leaving you with fond memories of your journey.
