Day 1 - Berlin - Wolfsburg - Celle - Hannover
Welcome to your tour. Today, we embark on a journey to Lower Saxony, beginning with a visit to Wolfsburg, a city established in 1938 as a planned community to support the Volkswagen factory. This city is deeply intertwined with the legacy of the German automotive industry. We’ll explore Autostadt, an intriguing complex dedicated to automobiles, featuring lush gardens and fascinating exhibitions. You will have time to take a leisurely walk and enjoy lunch amidst these surroundings.Our travels continue to Celle, where you can wander through the charming old town, renowned for its well-preserved half-timbered houses dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Discover the impressive Renaissance castle that graces the town. In the mid-afternoon, we make our way to Hannover, the vibrant capital of Lower Saxony. Here you can explore a city that seamlessly blends historic and contemporary architecture, enhanced by expansive parks. Please remember that travellers may join or leave the tour at different points, but rest assured, the group will always remain within its maximum size. Our accommodation for the night will be in Hannover. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Hannover - Goslar - Berlin
Following breakfast, we embark on our journey to Goslar, renowned as one of Germany’s most picturesque villages with its charming wooden architecture, age-old walls, and inviting squares. You'll have time to wander through the village and soak up its historic charm at your own pace. Our next destination is Quedlinburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its remarkably preserved historic centre, featuring over 2,100 half-timbered houses. As you explore, make sure to visit the town hall and the Collegiate Castle, which are of particular interest. Enjoy some free time to take in the surroundings and have lunch. We then proceed to Berlin, where we will arrive in the evening, bringing our journey to a close. You'll be left with wonderful memories of your travels. Please remember to check the timing of your flight in case you require an additional night's stay.
