Day 2 - Snaefellsnes Peninsula
We travel the Snaefellsnes Peninsula - a showcase of dramatic coastline and volcanic landscapes. We begin at the Black Church of Buðakirkja before continuing to the fishing village of Arnarstapi for harbour views and walking along the impressive sea cliffs. We then take in the basalt pinnacles of Londrangar and the nearby Svöðufoss waterfall, where water tumbles from the mountains towards the ocean. We explore windswept Gufuskalar with its striking geological features and round off the day at Kirkjufell - one of Iceland's most photographed peaks.
We spend the night in Stykkisholmur at FH Stykkhisholmur or similar - a comfortable base for the evening after a full day on the peninsula.
Day 3 - Volcano Hike & Reykholt
We follow the scenic shores of Breiðafjörður Fjord, easing into the day with wide coastal views before stepping into the world of the early settlers at Erik the Red's Viking House. Here we explore stories of exploration and survival that shaped Iceland's beginnings.
We then hike up Grabrok Volcano for sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, before continuing to the neighbouring waterfalls of Barnarfoss and Hraunfossar - a striking pair known for their distinctive, multi‑tiered cascades.
In the afternoon we delve into Iceland's literary heritage at the Saga Museum of Snorri Sturlusson, learning about the poet and historian whose works underpin much of the country's medieval narrative. We end the day with an overnight stay at FH Reykholt.
Day 4 - The Hidden Fjords
We journey into the Hidden Fjords, following the scenic road along Hvalfjörður - a serene, dramatic inlet known for its calm waters. From here we set out on the hike to Glymur, one of Iceland's tallest waterfalls, with rewarding views across cliffs, valleys and the powerful cascade.
After the hike we slow the pace with a wine tasting and food pairing - sampling fine wines alongside fresh local dishes. We then unwind at Hvammsvik Hot Spring Resort, relaxing in the warm geothermal pools and soaking up the surrounding nature. We stay overnight at Hvammsvik Resort.
Day 5 - The Golden Circle
We explore the Golden Circle in depth today, beginning at Þingvellir National Park - a UNESCO World Heritage site where Iceland's first parliament met and the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates diverge. From here we continue to Friðheimar, a geothermal greenhouse, to learn about sustainable cultivation and enjoy fresh, locally grown tomatoes in a unique setting. We then take in the geothermal area at Geysir, watching Strokkur erupt, before moving on to the mighty Gullfoss Waterfall. Later we visit Bruarfoss, known for its striking blue waters, and finish at Hjalparfoss in the Þjorsardalur valley, framed by dramatic volcanic rock formations. Overnight at LandHotel.
Day 6 - Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon
We continue east to the Glacier Lagoon and nearby Diamond Beach - two sights set side by side, making it easy to experience both in one day. We begin with a photoshoot on Diamond Beach, where gleaming pieces of ice rest on the black sand for striking images. We then join a boat tour on the Glacier Lagoon to glide among drifting icebergs and appreciate the scale of this remarkable landscape. Later, we step into Iceland's early history with a visit to a Viking Village to explore its Norse heritage.
We finish the day with an overnight stay at Hotel Glacier Lagoon, perfectly placed for a restful evening after a full day of exploration.
Day 7 - South Coast to Reykjavik
Today we explore South Coast highlights before returning to Reykjavik. We visit Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach with striking basalt columns and powerful Atlantic waves, then continue to Dyrholaey to view its impressive rock arch and sweeping coastline. The headland is also a haven for seabirds, including puffins. In the evening we drive back to Reykjavik for an overnight at the Berjaya Hotel Marina, a relaxed end to a day of dramatic coastal scenery.
Day 8 - Reykjanes Peninsula & Blue Lagoon
We spend today exploring the Reykjanes Peninsula, beginning at Hvalsneskirkja - a serene stone church set against the coast. From here we continue to the Seltun geothermal area to see colourful hot springs, bubbling mud pots and steaming fumaroles. We then carry on to Kleifarvatn - a tranquil volcanic lake surrounded by dramatic terrain - for quiet views of this striking landscape.
In the afternoon we unwind at the Blue Lagoon, immersing ourselves in its warm, mineral rich waters. We end the day with an overnight stay at Berjaya Hotel Marina - a comfortable base to relax before departure.
