Kick off in Delhi and wrap up in Bhopal on a 10–day cultural and wildlife adventure. You’ll dive into Old and New Delhi’s icons Jama Masjid, Red Fort and Humayun’s Tomb, before Agra’s showstoppers, the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Expect to see Gwalior’s hilltop fort and the palaces of Orchha. In Khajuraho you’ll explore exquisitely carved temples and an atmospheric light and sound show. Itinerary
Day 1 - Delhi
On arrival in Delhi, we’ll meet you at the airport and arrange your transfer to the hotel. Standard hotel check in time is 2.00 pm – early check in is subject to availability on arrival. The rest of the day is at leisure: you can unwind after your journey, make use of the hotel’s facilities, or explore the nearby area at your own pace. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 - Delhi
After breakfast, we set out to explore Old and New Delhi on a comprehensive city tour. In Old Delhi, we visit Jama Masjid – one of India’s largest mosques – followed by the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We then pause at Raj Ghat to pay respects at Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial. Continuing into New Delhi, we stop at India Gate – the First World War memorial surrounded by broad lawns – before visiting Qutub Minar, the world’s tallest brick minaret, and Humayun’s Tomb, a UNESCO‑listed Mughal mausoleum set in formal gardens. We return to the hotel to unwind – overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 - Delhi
After breakfast, we drive from Delhi to Agra – about 210 km, roughly 4 hours. On arrival, check in at the hotel and freshen up before we head out to explore. We visit the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, admired for its exquisite marble craftsmanship. We then tour the Agra Fort, another UNESCO–listed complex showcasing grand Mughal architecture, before continuing to the Tomb of Itimad–ud–Daulah – the Baby Taj – renowned for its intricate marble inlay work and serene setting. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4 - Agra - Gwalior
Agra – Gwalior – Orchha (240 km – 5 hours approx). After breakfast, we set off for Orchha, pausing en route to explore Gwalior Fort – a commanding hilltop complex of palaces, temples and historic water tanks with sweeping views over the city. We then continue to Orchha and check in at the hotel. After time to unwind, we visit the Orchha Fort complex, a striking ensemble of palaces, temples and royal cenotaphs that reflects the town’s heritage, and the Chaturbhuj Temple, dedicated to Lord Rama, with the Betwa River flowing nearby. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5 - Orchha
After breakfast, we drive from Orchha to Khajuraho – about 190 kilometres and around four hours. On arrival, we check in at the hotel and you have time to relax. Later, we explore the eastern, western and southern groups of temples, admiring their architectural detail and the intricate sculptures and carvings that depict Hindu mythology, celestial beings and scenes of daily life. In the evening, we attend the light and sound show that brings Khajuraho’s history to life. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 - Khajuraho - Sanchi - Vidisha
Today we drive from Khajuraho to Bhopal – 375 km, around 8 hours – the capital of Madhya Pradesh, with cultural stops en route. At Sanchi Stupa – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – we explore the complex and its intricately carved gateways (toranas). We then continue to the Udayagiri Caves to view rock cut sculptures and inscriptions from the Gupta period. On arrival in Bhopal we check in and unwind after the journey. The evening is at leisure – you can sample local cuisine or stroll through the city’s markets. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7 - Bhopal
Bhopal We start early with a visit to Bhoj Wetland – a Ramsar site known for its rich birdlife and calm waters. Back in the city, we explore Bhopal’s key monuments – Jama Masjid, the elegant Moti Masjid and the vast Taj ul Masjid – to appreciate their distinctive architecture. We then round off at Bharat Bhawan, a renowned multi arts centre showcasing contemporary art, music, dance and theatre. Overnight in Bhopal.
Day 8 - Bhopal - Amchha Khurd
Bhopal to Satpura National Park (Madhai) – 170 km – around 3 hours by road. We leave Bhopal after breakfast and drive to Satpura, stopping first at Bhojeshwar Temple, a Shiva shrine noted for its serene setting and striking architecture. We then continue to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bhimbetka to explore its prehistoric rock shelters and Palaeolithic cave paintings depicting hunting, rituals and scenes of daily life. After the visit, we carry on to Madhai, the gateway to Satpura National Park, and check in at our accommodation. You can unwind and prepare for the wildlife adventures ahead. Overnight at hotel or resort.
Day 9 - Satpura National Park
Satpura National Park (Madhai) Wake early for a morning jeep safari in Satpura National Park. We explore forest tracks in search of tigers, leopards, sloth bears and Indian gaur, taking time to pause for sightings as they occur. Later, we take to the water on a boat safari along the Denwa River – a calm route that offers a fresh perspective on the park’s wildlife and birdlife as we pass forested banks and open stretches of water. The day focuses on the reserve’s varied habitats – woodland, grassland and riverine areas – and the rich biodiversity they support. Overnight at hotel / resort.
Day 10 - Satpura National Park - Bhopal
After breakfast, we depart Satpura National Park (Madhai) and drive back to Bhopal – around 170 km, taking approximately 3 hours. On arrival, we transfer you to the airport for your onward journey.
