Day 1 - Leh
On arrival at Leh airport, we’ll meet you and transfer you to your hotel. We leave time for you to rest and acclimatise to the high altitude.In the afternoon, you can explore Leh town at your own pace – wander the lanes lined with traditional Ladakhi buildings and browse shops for colourful textiles, handcrafted souvenirs and spices. If you wish, walk up to Shanti Stupa – a symbol of peace set on a hill – for panoramic views over Leh, especially at sunset. Return to the hotel for the night – overnight in Leh.
Day 2 - Leh
This morning we delve into Ladakh’s Buddhist heritage, beginning at Thiksey Monastery – a hilltop complex often likened to Lhasa’s Potala Palace – where we take in broad views of the Indus Valley and explore its temples, murals and scriptures. We continue to Shey Palace and Monastery, once a royal seat, to see the detailed frescoes and the striking 12 metre statue of the Buddha. We then visit Sankar Monastery for a quieter glimpse of monastic life before returning to Leh to tour the nine storey Leh Palace, former home of the royal family, with far‑reaching views over the town and surrounding mountains. We finish at the Hall of Fame – a museum honouring the Indian armed forces – to gain insight into the region’s military history. Return to the hotel in the evening to unwind. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 - Leh
After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, we transfer you to Leh airport for your onward journey, concluding your time in Ladakh.
