Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome. Upon your arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel. Later, our guide will meet you to provide essential information about your stay. Additional details can also be found on the information board at the hotel reception. In the evening, we’ll introduce you to Rome with a visit to Via Cavour, a lively street offering a variety of dining options, including Italian, Indian, Chinese, and international cuisine. This is a great opportunity to settle in and enjoy your first evening in the city.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Rome
In the morning, we’ll take a three-hour guided tour of Rome, beginning with a walking exploration of Imperial Rome. This will include iconic sights such as the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant’Angelo. Following this, we’ll enjoy a panoramic bus ride through the city, taking in one of the oldest and most influential capitals of Western civilisation. The tour concludes at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m., where you can join an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, we’ll include a transfer to the vibrant Trastevere neighbourhood, known for its cosy restaurants and lively atmosphere. You’ll have time to dine here before returning to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today we leave Rome and travel north towards Florence, enjoying the scenic landscapes en route. Upon arrival, we’ll head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo to take in sweeping views over the city. From there, we will walk into the historic centre, where after some time for lunch, we’ll embark on a guided tour with a local expert. Highlights include the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria—Florence’s streets are like walking through an open-air museum. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. In the evening, the area offers a wide selection of restaurants serving international cuisine for dinner.
Day 4 - Florence - Venice
Today, we’ll travel across the Apennine Mountains, taking in spectacular mountain scenery en route to Venice. Upon arrival, we’ll cross the Giudecca Canal by boat to reach the island itself. With a local guide, we’ll explore the splendid St. Mark’s Square, a central landmark of Venice. Afterwards, we’ll visit a Murano glass factory to observe traditional glassmaking techniques that have been practiced here for centuries. You’ll then have some free time to explore Venice at your own pace. Accommodation is in the Mestre district for easier access to transport connections.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We leave Venice and travel into Austria, arriving in Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. You’ll have time to wander around the historic city centre and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Afterwards, we continue along scenic mountain roads to Kitzbühel, a charming village known for its ski resorts and alpine atmosphere. You’ll have some time to explore here before we make our way to Salzburg, where we arrive in the evening. Depending on group size, travel from Venice to Innsbruck may be by train.
Day 6 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
This morning, we’ll explore Salzburg, the city of Mozart, where the Renaissance and Baroque architecture is set beneath the imposing fortress. Afterwards, we’ll travel through scenic lakes and mountains to St Wolfgang, a well-known Austrian pilgrimage site. Next, we continue to Traunkirchen on the shores of Lake Traunsee, where we’ll take a cruise to see four of the lake’s castles before disembarking in Gmunden. From there, we’ll journey onward to Vienna, arriving in the evening.
Day 7 - Vienna
Today, we’ll take a panoramic tour of Vienna with a local guide, exploring its grand avenues, magnificent palaces, expansive parks, and bustling city centre. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to discover the city at your own pace. Later, we’ll transfer you to the charming district of Grinzing, a former wine-growing village now part of Vienna, known for its traditional taverns. You’ll have the evening to enjoy dinner there independently.
Day 8 - Vienna - Budapest
After a journey of around three hours, we’ll arrive in Budapest, Hungary’s vibrant capital. Our first stop is the bustling Váci utca, where you’ll have some free time for lunch amid its lively shops and cafés. Later, we’ll begin our exploration of Budapest with an included boat cruise along the Danube River, offering striking views of historic Buda on one bank and cosmopolitan Pest on the other. Following the cruise, we’ll take a panoramic tour of the city, often called the "Queen of the Danube," highlighting its key landmarks and rich heritage. In the afternoon, you’ll have some free time to discover more at your own pace. As evening falls, there’s an optional outing to enjoy a traditional Magyar show, complete with dinner.
Day 9 - Budapest - Bratislava - Prague
We leave Budapest early and travel to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Set along the Danube, this charming city boasts an attractive historic centre where you’ll have time to explore and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Afterwards, we continue to the Czech Republic, arriving in Prague by evening. Upon arrival, we’ll transfer you to Old Town Square, the heart of the city, providing a perfect introduction to Prague’s vibrant atmosphere and numerous attractions. You can dine at one of the many local restaurants offering a range of cuisines, including Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian, before returning to the hotel.
Day 10 - Prague
Today we explore Prague, often called the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our local guide will lead a panoramic tour of the city’s most remarkable landmarks, including a visit to Prague Castle with admission included. Following this, we take an included boat ride along the Vltava River, offering a fresh perspective of the city’s elegant architecture and historic bridges. In the afternoon, you will have free time to discover Prague at your own pace.
Day 11 - Prague - Pilsen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
We depart early from Prague and travel to Pilsen, located in western Bohemia and famed for its brewing heritage. Here, we’ll have time to walk through the historic centre, including the Old Town Square, the cathedral, the Plague Column, and the Renaissance-era town hall. Continuing into Germany, we follow a portion of the Romantic Road to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a picturesque town often regarded as one of the most beautiful in the country. In the evening, we reach Frankfurt, Germany’s financial hub, where you’ll have free time to enjoy dinner in the historic city centre, which offers a wide variety of international cuisines.
Day 12 - Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Amsterdam
Today, we embark on a scenic cruise along the most picturesque stretch of the Rhine River, travelling between the charming villages of Rüdesheim and St. Goar. This section of the river is renowned for its stunning landscapes and historic castles. After the cruise, we continue to Cologne, a vibrant city famous for its impressive Gothic cathedral. Following our visit here, we travel onward to Amsterdam, arriving in the evening.
Day 13 - Amsterdam
Today we explore quintessential Dutch scenery, beginning with a visit to Zaanse Schans. This open-air museum village features traditional houses, winding canals, and iconic windmills, offering a glimpse into Holland’s rural heritage. Next, we travel to Volendam, a picturesque fishing village celebrated for its colourful harbour and maritime character. From Volendam, we take a short boat ride to Marken, formerly an island now linked to the mainland by a dike. Here, houses traditionally built on stilts reflect the community’s adaptation to its watery surroundings. In the afternoon, we return to Amsterdam for a guided tour combining a variety of highlights: the traditional windmill and Rembrandt statue, the modern architecture of the South District, and Museum Square, known for its diamond-cutting heritage. The tour concludes in Amsterdam’s city centre, where you’ll have free time to discover the canals, markets and cafés at your own pace.
Day 14 - Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris
After breakfast, we travel to Belgium, arriving in Brussels—home to major European institutions and a city that blends historic charm with a multicultural atmosphere. We will admire the stunning Grand Place, a masterpiece of Flemish Baroque architecture, and take a stroll past the famous Manneken Pis statue, a symbol of the city’s character. Brussels offers a unique mix of history, artistry, and renowned chocolate. In the afternoon, we continue into France, reaching Paris by the end of the day.
Day 15 - Paris
Today, we’ll explore the rich history of France with a visit to the magnificent Palace of Versailles (admission not included), famed for its expansive and beautifully maintained gardens. Returning to Paris, we’ll head to Montmartre – a delightful bohemian district known for its artistic heritage and lively cabaret scene. To complete the day, we’ll enjoy a panoramic city tour with a local guide, taking in Paris’s grand avenues and iconic landmarks. We’ll then return to the hotel. In the evening, you may choose to attend an optional variety show for a taste of Parisian entertainment.
Day 16 - Paris - Rouen
We begin the day in central Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, where we include tickets to ascend to the second floor of this famous iron landmark. Following this, we embark on a relaxing boat cruise along the Seine, offering a unique perspective of the city’s key sights. The afternoon is free for you to explore Paris at your own pace. Around 4:00 p.m., we depart for Normandy and arrive in Rouen, where you’ll have free time to discover the historic centre. Rouen dates back to Roman times and features charming medieval streets alongside an impressive Gothic cathedral, providing a rich blend of history and culture. Please note, if wait times at the Eiffel Tower are lengthy, we may adjust the visit schedule for your convenience.
Day 17 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
This morning, we’ll enjoy a leisurely walk around the historic centre of Rouen, taking in its medieval architecture and lively streets. Afterwards, we’ll travel north and cross the English Channel by ferry, arriving in Canterbury – England’s renowned religious capital with a charming historic centre. We’ll then continue on to London, where you’ll have some free time near Tower Bridge, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, before we transfer to the hotel for the night.
Day 18 - London
Today in London, we’ll enjoy a panoramic tour led by a local guide, highlighting the city’s rich culture and history. We’ll see iconic landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, and Buckingham Palace, where there’s a chance to witness the famous Changing of the Guard, depending on the schedule. In the evening, we’ll meet in Piccadilly for a leisurely walk through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho—areas known for their vibrant nightlife, theatres, and dining options. You will have plenty of choices for dinner before we return to the hotel.
Day 19 - London
After breakfast, we visit the British Museum, one of the world’s oldest and most celebrated museums, home to an extensive collection of global artefacts. At lunchtime, we provide a transfer to Camden, known for its lively and diverse market, where you can browse an array of unique goods. The afternoon is free for you to explore independently and reflect on your journey. Please check your flight time carefully, as you may need to arrange an additional night’s accommodation.
