Day 1 - Marrakech
Upon arriving in Marrakech, you'll be warmly welcomed to Morocco. We will handle your hotel transfer, ensuring a seamless start to your adventure. In the afternoon, you'll experience the vibrant culture of the city with a traditional horse-drawn carriage ride, making your way to the renowned Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, a lively hub of activity. Dinner will be included, allowing you to relish your first taste of Moroccan cuisine. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Marrakech
Today, we will delve into the vibrant city of Marrakech, a place deeply intertwined with Morocco's identity. Our exploration begins with a guided tour that unveils the city's historical and cultural treasures. You will walk through its ancient fortified walls and the lively atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. We will also venture into the Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the past and present blend seamlessly amid its bustling streets.Our journey continues to the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, a masterpiece of Almohad architecture, followed by the breathtaking Bahia Palace, showcasing exquisite Moroccan craftsmanship – both entry tickets are included. Afterwards, you're free to enjoy an included lunch at your leisure. This is an ideal time to unwind, whether by lounging by the pool or taking a tranquil stroll through the hotel gardens. Alternatively, you may wish to wander through the lively souks, brimming with traditional crafts and vibrant goods.In the evening, you have the option to partake in an exciting Fantasy Party, an experience promising to be memorable.
Day 3 - Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dades
On the third day of our journey, we embark on a scenic adventure across the magnificent Atlas Mountains. These towering peaks, often dusted with snow, provide a stunning backdrop as we depart from the palm-filled landscapes of Marrakech. Along our route, you'll observe charming Berber villages that appear to cling precariously to the steep sides of the gorges.Our first stop will be Ait Benhaddou, a fortified village famous for its roles in many films. Here, you'll have the opportunity to admire its distinctive earthen architecture. As we make our way through striking landscapes reminiscent of ancient biblical times, we'll continue to Ouarzazate. Known for its impressive Kasbah and as a hub for the film industry, this town offers a glimpse into the cultural richness of southern Morocco.We proceed through the picturesque Valley of Roses, which will eventually lead us to Boumalne Dades, where we will end the day with an included dinner. Please note that during winter months, the roads may be affected by snowdrifts, which could result in itinerary changes. Access to the Sahara Desert is also subject to current road conditions.
Day 4 - Boumalne Dades - Todgha - Erfoud
We begin our exciting journey through the Sahara Desert from Boumalne Dades, navigating the enchanting Valley of the Kasbahs. As we proceed, you'll witness river valleys adorned with endless palm trees, rocky expanses that give way to verdant oases, and traditional adobe villages. These remarkable surroundings are complemented by imposing fortresses that have stood guard over ancient routes for centuries.Our adventure includes visiting the spectacular Todgha Gorge, where the canyon's towering walls stretch over 100 metres high. Along the way, we'll stop at a quaint adobe village near Khorbat. Here, you have the opportunity to learn about the desert community, although access can be affected by conditions such as river flooding.As the day continues, we'll journey towards Erfoud. For those with a sense of adventure, there’s an option to take an exhilarating off-road excursion to the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. This experience offers a magical sunset view that you won't want to miss. Lunch will be provided during our travels.
Day 5 - Erfoud - Fes
We’ll set off early from Erfoud, making our way through the majestic Atlas Mountains with their dramatic gorges and stunning landscapes. Our path takes us across a high plateau, where nomadic shepherds tend to their flocks. We’ll pause briefly in Midelt, a town renowned for its role in the region’s agricultural trade. Our journey continues with a lunch stop (included) in the Middle Atlas, by a serene lake amidst beautiful natural surroundings.As we advance, the scenery transforms notably, with forests where snow often blankets the ground in winter. Near Azrou, we’ll visit the "House of Cedars," a national park museum offering insights into the area’s heritage. You may also encounter the playful monkey colonies that inhabit this forested region. Our journey proceeds to the tranquil town of Bhalil, famous for its enchanting old town filled with colourful streets and unique cave houses now integrated into the modern dwellings.We will then head to Fez, pausing to admire a panoramic view of this historic city from the Marinid Tombs before arriving at our hotel. Dinner will be included.
Day 6 - Fes - Tangier
In Fez, we'll embark on a comprehensive tour, entering through the regal Bronze Gates of the Royal Palace to explore the vibrant Jewish quarter, bustling souks, and the distinctive Tanners' Quarter. Known as Morocco's cultural heart, Fez is celebrated for its well-preserved Medina, which offers a quintessential glimpse into traditional Arab life. Our morning of exploration concludes with a delightful lunch at a historic palace nestled within the Medina. In the afternoon, we continue our adventure by journeying north along a modern motorway, reaching the port city of Tangier by evening. Dinner is included, offering a taste of local cuisine to end the day on a high note.
Day 7 - Tangier - Asilah - Rabat
In the morning, you'll have some free time to explore Tangier at your leisure. Later, we will journey south to the enchanting coastal town of Asilah. This small, walled city along the Atlantic was once a bustling port and infamous pirate hideout, and today it is alive with vibrant energy. We'll enjoy a leisurely walk through its charming streets, soaking in the colourful atmosphere. By evening, we will arrive in the nation's capital, Rabat, where dinner will be included.
Day 8 - Rabat - Casablanca - Marrakech
Today, we will explore the historic city of Rabat, starting with a visit to the sprawling Royal Palace, the resting place of King Mohammed V at his grand mausoleum, and the impressive Kasbah of the Udayas, which stands proudly above the river. At midday, our journey continues to Casablanca, where a knowledgeable local guide will lead us on a brief city tour, including views of the stunning exterior of the Hassan II Mosque, one of the most significant mosques in the Arab world. Later, we will return to Marrakech, arriving in the evening where dinner awaits.
Day 9 - Marrakech
Following breakfast, our journey concludes today, leaving you with cherished memories of your experiences in Morocco. We hope you depart with new stories to tell and a deeper connection to this remarkable part of the world.
