Day 1 - Casablanca
Welcome to Morocco! Upon your arrival at the airport in Casablanca, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for some relaxation after your journey. Later in the day, our guide will be in touch to provide you with all the necessary information about your exciting adventure ahead. In the evening, enjoy a delightful dinner, included as part of your introduction to Morocco’s rich culinary culture. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Casablanca - El Jadida - Safi
On our second day, we'll immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Casablanca, Morocco's largest city and economic powerhouse. Our morning begins with an engaging guided tour, showcasing the city's dynamic blend of modernity and tradition. We will meander along its grand boulevards, stopping at the stunning Mohamed V Square, where a charming fountain, Moorish architectural wonders, and towering palm trees frame the vista. Our excursion continues through the serene Arab League Park and into the bustling little Medina. A highlight of our tour is the Hassan II Mosque, perched majestically by the sea. This architectural marvel, renowned for its towering 210-metre-high minaret whose laser beams point towards Mecca, is uniquely accessible to non-Muslims. After our exploration, enjoy some free time for lunch by the seaside at La Corniche, a popular spot known for its delightful maritime ambience.Post lunch, our journey takes us to El Jadida, home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mazagan citadel. As we stroll its picturesque streets, the traces of Portuguese influence, such as the Manueline-style Church of the Assumption, become vividly apparent. We'll also include a visit to the historical sixteenth-century cistern, a noteworthy site currently undergoing restoration with reopening anticipated during the season.Our day concludes as we continue to Safi, a city known for its artisanal ceramics, arriving by late afternoon. Dinner will be provided, allowing you to sample local cuisine and unwind after a day full of cultural discoveries.
Day 3 - Safi - Essaouira - Agadir
On the third day of our journey, we'll explore the vibrant city of Safi, famed for its exquisite ceramics. These pottery pieces, celebrated throughout Morocco for their exceptional quality and vivid hues, are a treat to witness. We’ll capture stunning views of the Castle of the Sea and its imposing fortress walls, wander the delightful streets of the Medina, and visit the bustling Hill of the Potters, showcasing numerous artisan shops.Our adventure continues as we head to Essaouira, where you'll discover its remarkable coastal Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This artist's haven boasts narrow laneways, whitewashed structures, and formidable walls buffeted by the Atlantic waves. You'll have free time to enjoy lunch and meander through this enchanting town at your leisure.Post-lunch, we’ll journey along the picturesque Atlantic coastline, providing ample opportunities to admire the splendid scenery. We'll make a brief stop in Taghazout, a quaint fishing town beloved by surfers, before proceeding to Agadir. We'll arrive in the evening, where we'll settle into our accommodation and enjoy an included dinner.
Day 4 - Agadir - Marrakech
You have the morning free to soak up Agadir, Morocco's most beloved beach destination. Whether relaxing on the endless sandy shores, taking a leisurely stroll along the seafront, or exploring the numerous retail areas for a spot of shopping, the choice is yours. After lunch, we will journey onwards, travelling along a scenic route through the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. Upon arrival at the hotel, you can enjoy a traditional Kalesa ride, offering a unique way to experience the vibrant energy of Jemaa el-Fnaa square, renowned for its bustling, round-the-clock activity. Dinner is included.
Day 5 - Marrakech
Today, we delve into the captivating city of Marrakech, a place that lent its name to the entire country. Our guided tour will lead us through the historic city walls to the vibrant Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, renowned for its energetic atmosphere. We'll continue to the Medina, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the splendid Bahia Palace, with admission included. Following our exploration, you will have free time to enjoy an included lunch. Afterward, relax by the pool or in the hotel garden, or perhaps venture into the bustling souks for some shopping. In the evening, you may choose to participate in the optional Fantasy Party excursion for an additional cultural experience.
Day 6 - Marrakech - Ouzoud Falls - Fes
Today, we embark on an exciting journey, setting off early for the Ouzoud Falls, the tallest waterfalls in Northern Africa, plunging 110 metres. Set in the heart of the Middle Atlas, these falls are surrounded by stunning gorges, providing a serene escape. We'll take a brief boat ride, allowing you to fully appreciate their majestic beauty, and enjoy lunch at a restaurant overlooking the cascades (both activities are included). You'll also have the opportunity to observe the local macaques, the playful Moroccan monkeys that inhabit this area. Following our time at the falls, we'll continue our adventure towards the Southern Atlas, heading to Fez. Upon reaching the city, we'll aim to visit the Marinid tombs to capture a panoramic view of Fez, but this may be rescheduled to the following day if sunlight is limited. Dinner is included upon arrival in Fez.
Day 7 - Fes - Tangier
Today, we'll delve into the rich history and vibrant culture of Fez, often hailed as Morocco's cultural heart. Commencing our tour at the impressive Bronze Gates of the Royal Palace, we'll wind our way through the city's Jewish quarter, soaking up the bustling atmosphere of its lively souks and the unique charm of the Tanners' Quarter. Fez is renowned for its stunning Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and one of the best-preserved examples of a medieval city in the Arab world, allowing you to experience a truly authentic Moroccan ambience. Our exploration will culminate with a delightful lunch at a historic palace nestled within the Medina, offering a taste of the region's culinary delights. In the afternoon, we'll head north, traversing Morocco via a modern highway, and arrive in Tangier by evening, where a welcoming dinner awaits.
Day 8 - Tangier - Seville
Spend your morning at leisure in Tangier – perfect for a spot of last-minute shopping or exploring. We'll then board a ferry back to Spain. Please note that the bus doesn’t travel with us on the ferry, so you'll need to carry your luggage on board. Once we land in Algeciras or Tarifa, we'll continue our journey to Seville, arriving by evening. Dinner is included as we settle in for the night.
Day 9 - Seville
In the morning, we will set out for a guided tour of Seville, a city brimming with charm and history. You will have the chance to admire the magnificent cathedral, home to the iconic Giralda tower, and explore the picturesque areas along the banks of the Guadalquivir River. We will wander through the vibrant neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana, each offering their own unique character and ambiance. Following the tour, enjoy a leisurely boat ride on the Guadalquivir River, where you'll be treated to stunning panoramic views of the city – this relaxing experience is included. In the evening, you might choose to immerse yourself in the passionate world of Spanish dance by attending a flamenco tablao, a quintessential part of Andalusian culture.
Day 10 - Seville - Cordoba - Consuegra - Madrid
Today, we depart from Seville and trace the path of the Guadalquivir Valley until we reach Córdoba. This city, once the capital of the Caliphate of Córdoba during Islamic rule, offers a remarkable blend of history and culture. With our expert local guide, we will visit the magnificent Mosque–Cathedral, a stunning architectural masterpiece where admission is included. Following this, we will wander through the enchanting Jewish Quarter, famous for its narrow streets and vibrant, flower-adorned patios – iconic features of the city.After enjoying lunch, we journey into the heart of Castile. Along the way, we pause at Consuegra, where 12 towering windmills stand beside the castle, surveying the vast plains of La Mancha. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the renowned Rucio Mill. As the day draws to a close, we continue to Madrid, wrapping up the day's explorations.
