Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Lugo
Arrive in the historic city of Lugo and make your way to your accommodation. The rest of the day is yours to explore. Lugo boasts the best-preserved Roman walls in Europe—now a UNESCO World Heritage Site—as well as ancient thermal baths and a Roman bridge. The city’s festive atmosphere and diverse food scene invite us to enjoy Galician wines and sample tapas in its lively old town. Tonight, settle in and prepare for the journey ahead.
Day 2 - Camino Trail
We begin our walk along quiet local roads and paved country paths, taking in the fresh air and gentle Galician landscape. Though today’s distance is one of the longest, the route is mostly flat, allowing you to find a steady rhythm as you walk through peaceful farmland and small hamlets. You end the day in the rural village of A Ponte de Ferreira and enjoy a restful evening.
26.5 km / approx. 7 hrs
Please note: You must leave your luggage in the lobby at each hotel or hostel by 8 AM. It will be transferred to the next stop, so you won’t need to carry it during the trek.
Day 3 - Onward to Melide
Today’s stage leads us through rolling countryside and forested paths to Melide, the geographic heart of Galicia. This is where you join the French Way, the most famous Camino route. For those looking to shorten the walk slightly, the “Vía Romana” offers an alternative path. In Melide, you can celebrate your arrival with a taste of the town’s signature dish—pulpo a la gallega (Galician-style octopus).
20 km / approx. 5 hrs
Day 4 - To Arzua
As you continue westward, you pass through picturesque villages like Boente and Castaneda. The walk is short and relaxed, giving you time to enjoy the scenery and sample local treats along the way. Your journey takes you into the province of A Coruna and ends in Arzua, a town known for its artisanal cheese. It’s a peaceful place to rest before the final stretch of the Camino.
14,1 km / 3 hrs approx
Day 5 - A Quiet Reflection to O Pedrouzo
This tranquil stage invites quiet reflection as you walk tree-lined trails and take in the lush Galician countryside. With the end of your pilgrimage drawing near, today gives you the chance to connect with fellow walkers and absorb everything you’ve experienced so far. You arrive in the small town of O Pedrouzo for the night.
19.3 km / approx. 5 hrs
Day 6 - The Final Steps
Excitement builds as you set off on the final stretch of your journey. You pass through Lavacolla and ascend Monte do Gozo, where you catch your first glimpse of Santiago’s cathedral towers in the distance. As you walk into the city and reach Plaza del Obradoiro, you’re met with the powerful sense of achievement that comes with completing the Camino. You may choose to join the Pilgrim’s Mass at noon and spend the evening soaking in the spiritual energy of Santiago.

Day 7 - Santiago de Compostela
After breakfast, your journey together comes to an end.
