Tanzania Travel Advice for Australian Travellers

Safety of our travellers is paramount and we keep informed of the latest travel advice on Tanzania. We recommend that you check the latest travel advice from Smart Traveller when planning your trip.

Flying to Tanzania from Australia:

Tanzania is roughly a 22-25 hour flight from Australia with the majority of airlines operating with two transit stops en route. There are a number of international transport hubs in Tanzania - Kilimanjaro international airport and the Julius Nyerere international airport at Dar es Salaam. There's also a domestic airport at Arusha. Which airport you need to fly in or out of will depend on your chosen tour. If flying from Sydney to Kilimanjaro one of the quickest options is with Emirates and Precision Air via Dubai and Nairobi. From Melbourne or Perth to Kilimanjaro Qatar Airways is the best option with just one stop in Doha en route. If flying to Dar es Salaam then Emirates via Dubai is a great option from most major cities in Australia. Check out Skyscanner for flight deals from Australia to Tanzania.
