This eight day safari starts in Arusha and ends at Kilimanjaro International Airport – a classic northern Tanzania circuit with big game and epic scenery. You’ll explore Tarangire’s baobab valleys and vast elephant herds, visit bird rich Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley escarpment, then spend two days roaming the Serengeti on morning and afternoon game drives – expect chances to spot the Big Five and, in season, the Great Migration. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a picnic amid astonishing wildlife density. Pace is comfortable – plenty of game viewing with stylish lodges and views over coffee country and Maasai steppe.

Day 1 - Kilimanjaro - Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our representative meets you and we transfer you to Arusha Serena Hotel – set amid coffee plantations on the shores of Lake Duluti. The afternoon is at leisure – you can start exploring Arusha at your own pace or relax and make the most of the hotel’s facilities. Designed to echo the traditional style of the colonial coffee farm that once stood here, the property offers cottage style rooms within extensive landscaped grounds. Overnight in Arusha.
Day 2 - Arusha - Dar es Salaam
You have a leisurely morning in Arusha – we’ll hold a safari briefing followed by lunch.In the afternoon we depart Arusha by safari vehicle, travelling across the Maasai Steppe past picturesque villages and maize, coffee and banana plantations. At Makuyuni we continue to the Tarangire National Park gate to complete entry formalities. We then enter the park and begin game viewing en route to the lodge, arriving for dinner.Tarangire Sopa Lodge is surrounded by ancient baobab trees. The park is home to one of the greatest concentrations of elephants in Africa, along with other game including the elusive leopard, and more than 400 bird species. The Tarangire River flows year‑round, sustaining lush greenery that contrasts with the drier plains. The lodge features 75 spacious rooms with sliding glass doors opening onto a balcony with far‑reaching views. Overnight in Tarangire.
Day 3 - Endabash
This morning we board our safari vehicle for game viewing in Tarangire, seeking out its large lion prides and impressive elephant herds. We drive through landscapes lined with ancient baobab trees and explore Silale Swamp, then return to the lodge for lunch.In the afternoon we travel north through the park to Makuyuni, continuing along a scenic escarpment to Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge – perched on the edge of the Rift Valley with wide views across Lake Manyara. The lodge’s design nods to the area’s rich birdlife and to traditional Maasai bomas, with vibrant frescoes inspired by migration patterns. Overnight in Lake Manyara.
Day 4 - Serengeti
After breakfast, we head out on a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, then return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon we travel northwest through the highland countryside – a landscape of wheat and coffee plantations – and enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Beyond lie the open plains of the Serengeti, where we start spotting wildlife as we approach the park entrance. We continue into the park with game viewing en route to our lodge.We arrive at Serengeti Serena Lodge to check in and enjoy dinner. Set on a tree–clad ridge with panoramic views across the Serengeti – close to the Western Corridor and the Grumeti River – the lodge blends into the landscape and features traditional design, including Makonde carvings in the rooms and the domed dining room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight in Serengeti.
Day 5 - Serengeti
We begin with breakfast at the lodge before heading out on morning and afternoon game drives across Serengeti National Park – renowned for its vast wildlife and the annual Great Migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle. Between drives we return to the lodge for lunch.The landscapes range from riverine forests and woodlands to volcanic grasslands and rocky outcrops known as kopjes – varied habitats that attract predators and plains game alike. With luck we may spot members of the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhinoceros – along with plentiful bird and reptile life. We return to the lodge for dinner. Overnight in Serengeti.
Day 6 - Oldupai Ranger Post
After breakfast, we depart the Serengeti for Ngorongoro with a picnic lunch. We game view across the plains, stopping en route to enjoy lunch, then continue to Ngorongoro Serena Lodge – set high on the crater rim – arriving in time for dinner. Built from local river stone and cloaked in indigenous vines, the lodge is designed to blend into the landscape and is not visible from the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera – shelters around 25,000 large mammals across its grasslands, lakes and forests, including elephants, rhinos and lions. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight in Ngorongoro.
Day 7 - Oldupai Ranger Post
After breakfast, we set out early to explore Ngorongoro Crater – often called the world’s largest natural wildlife arena. We descend through the morning mist about 2,000 feet to the crater floor with a picnic lunch to enjoy during our game viewing. The crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, with varied habitats – forest, swamps, lakes and springs, open grassland and pockets of sandy dunes – that support exceptional wildlife. We return to the lodge in the late afternoon. You have the remainder of the day at leisure before dinner. Overnight in Ngorongoro.
Day 8 - Arusha
After breakfast, we depart and travel southeast past Lake Manyara and Mto wa Mbu Village. The route climbs through the highlands and the Karatu district, where you can see wheat plains and coffee plantations, before descending the escarpment and turning south onto the main road to Arusha. We continue across the Maasai Steppe – dotted with picturesque villages and maize, coffee and banana plantations – arriving in Arusha for lunch. Afterwards, we transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
