Thailand & Singapore Highlights

Once you have arrived in Bangkok, you make your own way to your accommodation. The rest of the evening is yours, whether you head out to explore the surrounding streets, try some Thai food at a local spot, or simply settle in after the journey.

Please note: land only guests must confirm their international and domestic flight details with our sales and reservations team before tickets are issued, to ensure transfers, tours and activities on the scheduled arrival and departure days can go ahead. Internal flights must match ours exactly.

This morning, we set off to explore Bangkok's history through some of its most impressive temples. We begin at Wat Traimit, the Temple of the Golden Buddha, home to a solid gold statue weighing 5.5 tons and standing nearly 10 feet tall - a remarkable piece that lay hidden beneath layers of plaster until it was discovered in the 1950s.

From here, we continue to Wat Pho, one of Bangkok's oldest and most renowned temples, located near the Grand Palace complex. Known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, it houses a huge Buddha statue stretching 151 feet (46 metres) long, its feet beautifully decorated with symbolic mother-of-pearl inlays.

We then head to the Dusit district to visit Wat Benchamabophit, an ornate monastery built from Italian Carrara marble. Its striking red-and-gold tiered roof and the Sukhothai Buddha statue - commissioned in 1899 by King Chulalongkorn - make this a fitting final stop before we return to our accommodation.

Midnight Food Exploration by Tuk Tuk
Running daily from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm, on a minimum of two guests, this evening tour takes you beyond the usual tourist areas. Pick-up is not included; a local guide meets guests at Exit 2 of Samyan MRT station, in front of Chamchuri Square. Hop aboard a tuk-tuk to sample Northeastern Thai dishes, some of the city's best Pad Thai, and home-style Thai snacks, visiting old-town landmarks and temples that reveal a quieter side of Bangkok after dark. The evening wraps up around midnight. This tour is not recommended for vegetarians or vegans, given the limited meat-free options along the route.

Bangkok by Night
Available daily except Saturday and Sunday, on a minimum of two guests, this evening tour takes in Chinatown's lively one-kilometre strip of market stalls, street eateries, and gold shops, before continuing to Pakklong Talaad, Bangkok's largest flower market. From there, visit Wat Suthat and the Giant Swing, and stroll along Rachadamnoen Avenue, one of the city's historic roads. Dinner follows at a local restaurant, after which a tram ride around the Ratanakosin area takes in landmark views, including Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, the Golden Mount, Wat Ratchanaddaram, the Democracy Monument, the City Pillar Shrine, the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and the National Theatre. The evening concludes at Khao San Road, known for its lively nightlife and international backpacker crowd

Bangkok - Chang rai. This morning is free for you to enjoy. Afterwards, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Chiang Rai - standard check-out time is 11 am, with late check-out subject to availability.

On arrival at Chiang Rai Airport, we're met by a representative and transferred to our accommodation for check-in. After some time to settle in, we head out for a scenic boat ride along the Mae Kok River, taking in the impressive scenery and tranquil views as we cruise along the water.

We then arrive at Karen Ruammit Village, a traditional hill tribe settlement of bamboo houses built on stilts, with farm animals such as pigs, chickens, and buffalo often seen beneath the homes. Here, we meet the village women, traditionally dressed in sarongs, white blouses, and headscarves, and see their skills in sewing, weaving, and fabric dyeing firsthand, learning about the community's deep respect for ancestors and tribal elders that remains central to daily life.

Today is free for you to explore Chiang Rai in your own time - wander through the local markets, stop at a cafe, or seek out one of the city's quieter temples and cultural sites. An optional full-day tour is also available at an additional cost.

Mae Sai Border Town and Golden Triangle Tour with Lunch
Available on a minimum of two guests, this full-day tour travels to the market town of Mae Sai, the northernmost point of Thailand, where you can arrange to cross into Myanmar if you wish. From a hilltop lookout, take in sweeping views over the Golden Triangle, where the Mekong and Ruak Rivers meet at the borders of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos, before enjoying a locally prepared lunch in a nearby farming village. A short cruise along the Mekong River follows, to the small island of Don Sao in Laos, where you can browse the local markets before returning to Thailand. The day continues at the House of Opium Museum, tracing the history of opium back nearly 5,000 years.

Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai. This morning, we set off on a scenic drive to Chiang Mai. On the southern outskirts of Chiang Rai, we stop at Wat Rong Khun, better known as the White Temple. Built in the 1990s, this striking temple features an all-white exterior embedded with mirror pieces, creating a dazzling effect that makes it one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand.

We continue through mountains and tropical jungles on the way to Chiang Mai. On arrival, we check in to our accommodation. The rest of the day is yours to relax, explore the local area, or try some Thai cuisine

We begin the day with a visit to some of Chiang Mai's most impressive temples, starting with the 14th-century Wat Phra Sing, the Temple of the Lion Lord, which houses a sacred 1,500-year-old Buddha image and once served as the principal religious centre of the Lanna Kingdom. Its temple complex features several buildings showcasing a range of architectural styles.

From here, we continue to Wat Chedi Luang, a striking temple towering 196 feet (60 metres) high and historically significant as the former home of the Emerald Buddha.

Our final stop is Doi Suthep, on Doi Pui Mountain, where we ascend via a staircase lined with naga balustrades, or opt for a short ride on the funicular cable car. Dating back to the 16th century, the temple complex is topped with a gold-covered chedi, and offers far-reaching views over Chiang Mai and the surrounding mountains, weather permitting.

After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Phuket. On arrival at Phuket International Airport, we're met by a representative and transferred to our accommodation for check-in.

The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy - explore Phuket's beaches, relax by the shore, try some water sports, or join one of the optional tours on offer, at an additional cost.

Phuket Fantasea Show Including Dinner
Available daily from 6:30 pm to 11 pm, this dazzling theatrical show is inspired by Thai mythology, combining traditional dance, music, and striking visual effects.

Explore Hidden Phuket with Dinner
Available daily from 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm, led by a local guide, on a minimum of two guests, this private tour explores Phuket Old Town's Sino-Portuguese architecture on foot, taking in the colonial mansions built during the island's tin mining boom, along with street-side eateries and stalls, and a visit to an old Chinese temple. The tour concludes with dinner from a scenic viewpoint overlooking the island.

Today is yours to spend in Phuket however you like - explore the historical old town, take in a viewpoint or two, or visit one of the island's cultural attractions. You might also relax on the beach, try some water sports, or browse the local markets.

Khaosok Jungle Discovery (Hiking and Canoeing)
Available every Wednesday from 7 am to 7 pm, on a seat-in-coach basis with a local guide, minimum two guests, this full-day tour heads inland to Khao Sok National Park. The day begins with a hike through the park's lush jungle, spotting wild monkeys, langurs, and reptiles along the way to a refreshing stream, before a canoeing or bamboo rafting trip along the Sok River. From here, Khao Sok Viewpoint offers a bird's-eye view over the forest, and Panturat Temple is home to a troop of wild macaques, before a lunch stop at a local restaurant.

Coral Island by Speedboat with Lunch
Available daily from 8 am to 4 pm, on a seat-in-coach basis with a local guide (pick-up and drop-off from Maikhao, Naiyang, Naithon, and Ao Por can be arranged for a surcharge). Also known as Koh He, this car-free island is just 15 minutes from Phuket and known for its snorkelling and white beaches, with scuba diving, parasailing, and banana boat rides also available. Lunch is served at a local restaurant.

Phang Nga Bay by Speedboat Inclusive of Lunch
Available daily from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, on a seat-in-coach basis with a local guide, minimum two guests. Highlights include Koh Panak's mangrove caves and wildlife, Khao Tapu - known as James Bond Island from the film The Man with the Golden Gun - and the towering 164-foot Leaning Rock (Khao Ping Gun). A buffet lunch is served at Koh Panyee, a village built on stilts over the water, followed by a canoeing trip through a sea cave and the mangrove forest at Tham Lod, before free time to swim or relax on the beach at Naka Island

After breakfast, we transfer to Phuket Airport for our flight to Bangkok. On arrival, we're met and transferred to our accommodation for check-in.

Half Day Grand Palace Tour
Available on a minimum of two guests. The Grand Palace was once the seat of the Thai king and his court, and is home to the country's government administration within its crenulated walls. Its architecture blends distinctly Thai style with European influences, and the palace served as the official residence from the 18th to the mid-20th century. Within the grounds is Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand, construction of which began in 1785 when King Rama I moved the capital to Bangkok. Unlike typical Thai temples, it has no living quarters for monks, featuring only richly decorated holy buildings, statues, and pagodas - its central ubosot houses the revered Emerald Buddha, carved from jade and standing just 17 inches tall. The palace complex also includes the Funeral Palace and Coronation Hall, both admired from the outside for their impressive exteriors.

Bangkok - Singapore. This morning, we transfer to Bangkok Airport for our flight to Singapore. On arrival at Singapore International Airport, we're met and transferred to our accommodation for check-in. An optional evening tour is available at an additional cost.

Night Out in Chinatown and Bugis Village Including Dinner
Available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, on a seat-in-coach basis. Explore Chinatown's shops and eateries and browse the night market, testing your bargaining skills with street vendors, before dinner at a local Chinese restaurant. From here, travel to Bugis Village for a trishaw ride past its streets and those of nearby Little India, followed by a bumboat cruise from Clarke Quay along the Singapore River to see the city lit up at night, taking in the restored shophouses, modern skyscrapers, colonial buildings, and the iconic Merlion statue.

After breakfast, we take a city tour of Singapore, driving through its civic and colonial districts before stopping at the Merlion - the city's iconic lion-headed, fish-bodied statue - for photographs and views over Marina Bay.

From here, we visit Thian Hock Keng, the oldest Chinese temple in Singapore, before continuing to Little India, known for its colourful streets and the scent of joss sticks, jasmine, and spices. Our final stop is the National Orchid Garden, home to an impressive display of orchid varieties.

The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy - perhaps wander through one of Singapore's many parks, or relax back at your accommodation. An optional evening tour is available at an additional cost.

Night Out at Marina Bay with a Complimentary Drink at CeLaVi Kiosk
Available on a seat-in-coach basis. At Gardens by the Bay, choose between the Flower Dome, home to exotic plants from five continents across nine themed gardens and recognised in 2015 as the world's largest glass greenhouse (a Guinness World Record), or the Cloud Forest, with its 35-metre-tall indoor waterfall, mist-covered walkways, and rare plant displays. Take in mountain views and learn about the plants' fast-disappearing environments, then watch the SuperTree Grove's evening light and sound show. The tour concludes with a bird's-eye view over the city from Marina Bay Sands' Skypark, 200 metres up, and a drink at the CeLaVi Kiosk overlooking the skyline.

Today is free for you to spend as you wish. You might explore Sentosa Island, take a bumboat ride along the Singapore River, or shop along Orchard Road. Other options include the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the National Museum of Singapore, the Asian Civilisations Museum, or the Kampong Glam district. In the evening, Clarke Quay, Boat Quay, and Robertson Quay all offer plenty of dining options. An optional visit is also available at an additional cost.

River Wonders
Asia's first and only river-themed wildlife park, River Wonders is home to 200 land and aquatic species. Stroll past freshwater aquariums and walk-through exhibits, including the Giant Panda Forest and the Amazon Flooded Forest, the world's largest freshwater aquarium, with the visit including a 10 to 15 minute boat ride.

After breakfast, you make your own way to Singapore International Airport for your onward flight home.
