Day 1 - London
Welcome to London, the start of your exciting journey! Upon arrival, we will manage your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some time to relax and settle in. Spend the afternoon as you wish – whether that involves unwinding or taking your first steps in exploring this iconic city. For your convenience, information regarding the commencement of the tour can be found on the notification boards situated in the hotel reception area. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - London
This morning, we embark on a city tour of London, exploring notable landmarks such as Westminster, the Houses of Parliament, and the City, whilst enjoying views along the River Thames. In the afternoon, you have personal leisure time with the option to join us for an excursion to the picturesque Thames Valley, where you can visit the historic town of Windsor, home to the impressive Windsor Castle. As evening falls, we'll convene at Piccadilly to stroll through the lively neighbourhoods of Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho, each renowned for their vibrant energy, theatres, and entertainment. Please note, this evening activity may be arranged for the previous day, depending on your arrival time in London. To conclude the day, we'll transfer back to the hotel by bus.
Day 3 - London
Relish a free day in London, granting you the perfect opportunity to delve into this city's distinctive charm at your own pace. There’s no shortage of memorable sites to discover and explore—from the historic grandeur of the Tower of London to the lively buzz of Covent Garden. Whether you choose to take in the world-class art collections at the Tate Modern, stroll through the tranquil expanse of Hyde Park, or indulge in a spot of shopping on Oxford Street, the day is yours to craft delightful experiences in one of the world's most captivating cities.
Day 4 - London - Calais - Amiens - Paris
Today, we embark on a journey from London, setting sail across the Channel to France via a ferry. Our first stop is Calais, where we pause briefly before continuing to the charming city of Amiens. Known for its awe-inspiring Gothic cathedral—one of the largest of its kind in France—Amiens offers a delightful mix of history and culture. You will have the opportunity to stroll through its bustling narrow streets, explore the picturesque floating gardens, and visit the former residence of the famous author Jules Verne. As our day unfolds, we press onward towards Paris, where our arrival is anticipated by the evening.
Day 5 - Paris
On day five, we delve into the opulent history of France with a visit to the illustrious Palace of Versailles, celebrated for its vast and beautifully manicured gardens (admission not included). Returning to Paris, we explore Montmartre, a bohemian quarter renowned for its artistic heritage, cabarets, and vibrant street life. Our day continues with a panoramic city tour led by a local guide, where we uncover the grandeur of Paris through its wide boulevards and iconic landmarks. Following the tour, we settle back at the hotel. For those interested, an optional evening variety show is available.
Day 6 - Paris
We begin our day in the heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. You'll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor of this famed iron marvel, offering splendid views of the cityscape. Following this, we'll embark on a relaxing cruise along the River Seine, lasting approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, providing a unique perspective of Paris's beautiful landmarks. The afternoon is yours to discover the city's many treasures at your leisure, with the option to explore further areas that capture your interest (please note that transfer back to the hotel is not included). Should wait times at the Eiffel Tower be excessive, we might adjust our schedule to ensure you have the most enjoyable experience possible.
Day 7 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
On our seventh day, we venture into the heart of France, crossing the enchanting Burgundy region, famed for its lush vineyards and exceptional wines. Our first stop is the delightful town of Beaune, celebrated for its charming floral streets, historical hospice and intriguing wine museum. You’ll have some leisure time for a leisurely lunch and a stroll through this picturesque locale. Continuing our journey, we arrive in Lyon, the former capital of Roman Gaul, beautifully nestled along the Rhône River. Lyon's historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site, awaits us. We’ll take a cable car to Notre-Dame de Fourvière, offering breathtaking views of the city. The afternoon is yours to further explore at your own pace. Please note that in certain instances, some travellers may stay in Chambéry, a historic city near Lyon. If this is the case, our journey will extend to Chambéry in the evening, allowing you to enjoy an overnight in this medieval-styled city known as the capital of Savoy, boasting a captivating historic centre and a magnificent castle.
Day 8 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today, we'll venture into Switzerland, starting with our arrival in Geneva. Here, we'll pass by the esteemed Palace of Nations, the European seat for the United Nations. Enjoy strolling through the charming English Garden, complete with its famous flower clock, and take in the impressive Jet d'Eau, Europe's tallest fountain. After a leisurely lunch, our journey continues along picturesque Swiss routes. We'll trace the scenic shores of Lake Geneva and Lake Neuch?tel, passing through the scenic Three Lakes region?a landscape dotted with majestic vineyards and a backdrop of mountains. We'll pause in Neuch?tel, where you can take a lakeside walk, wander the historic town centre, or discover the 10th-century castle. Our day concludes in Zurich, with our arrival in the late afternoon. Please note, if circumstances dictate, our travel from Geneva to Zurich may occur by train, removing the stop in Neuch?tel from our agenda.
Day 9 - Zurich
Today, we'll delve into Zurich, Switzerland's vibrant economic and cultural hub. Known for its distinguished banking sector, Zurich has twice been honoured as the city with the world's best quality of life. Accompanied by our guide, you'll get to explore the city's rich tapestry. Later, we will embark on a scenic cruise lasting nearly two hours on Lake Zurich – a delightful experience featuring brief stops at charming villages along the way. Our journey will lead us to Rapperswil, a picturesque town famed for its medieval castle. From here, we'll make our way back to Zurich by train, a fantastic chance to acquaint yourself with the Swiss railway system's seamless efficiency and punctuality. Depending on the size of our group, note that transfers to and from the city centre might be done using public transport.
Day 10 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today's adventures promise a feast for the senses as we traverse through an enchanting landscape of majestic mountains and unspoiled lakes in the Interlaken region. Our journey begins with a stop in Grindelwald, where you'll have a chance to enjoy a cup of coffee before we ascend the mountain via cable car. Once at the top, we'll meander along a scenic path that reaches a suspended bridge, offering intrepid travellers the chance to walk amidst breathtaking views of the nearby glaciers.A delightful lunch awaits us on the mountain, seamlessly blending fine dining with stunning vistas. Following our descent, we head to Lucerne, a city often cited as one of Switzerland's prettiest. Here, you'll have free time to soak up the city's charm, explore its picturesque streets, and perhaps visit the iconic Chapel Bridge and Water Tower.Back in Zurich later in the day, our memorable excursion concludes, though an optional full-day adventure remains available. Those opting in can look forward to a rotating cable car ride up to Mount Titlis. At over 3,000 metres, the summit presents breathtaking views of the glistening glacier and the majestic Alps—a spectacular finale to a day filled with natural wonders.
Day 11 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
Departing early from Zurich, we journey across the majestic Alps into Switzerland's Italian-speaking region. Our first destination is Bellinzona, renowned for its triad of medieval castles, which are designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These fortifications, nestled on the hills above the city, are testament to Bellinzona’s strategic importance as an alpine stronghold. Enjoy some time to stroll through the picturesque streets of the town centre.We then cross the border into Italy, where our next stop is the charming town of Como, nestled on the lake of the same name. Como is hailed as a gem of Lombardy, admired for its inviting lakeside gardens and majestic cathedral. You’ll have the chance to enjoy lunch here, savouring the beauty of the surroundings.Our travels continue to Milan, a city famed for its fashion and architectural grandeur. Upon arrival, our guide will accompany us to the impressive Piazza del Duomo, where you'll have the opportunity to admire the breathtaking cathedral and explore the lively square. Afterwards, we will transfer you to your hotel, where you can reflect on the day’s journey.
Day 12 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
Today, we continue our adventure, heading from Milan to Pisa. We will travel by a small tourist train to the Piazza dei Miracoli, where you'll have the chance to marvel at one of Italy's most stunning art complexes. This renowned square is home to the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa. After taking some time to admire the architectural beauty, we’ll journey on to the Eternal City, Rome, arriving later in the day. This leg of your tour promises a blend of historic intrigue and the captivating charms of Italy's famed landmarks.
Day 13 - Rome
This morning in Rome, we’ll embark on a three-hour guided excursion through the marvels of the Eternal City. Our exploration will blend a walking tour of Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus journey, unveiling the treasures of one of history's most pivotal cities. Expect to encounter architectural icons such as the Arch of Constantine and the exterior of the Colosseum, while also taking in the splendour of the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, and the Baths of Caracalla. We'll pass by the awe-inspiring Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the ancient Pyramid of Cestius, and the majestic Castel Sant’Angelo. Our tour will conclude around 11 a.m. at Vatican City. Here, you can choose to join an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel to continue your cultural immersion. As the evening unfolds, we’ll whisk you away to the vibrant Trastevere neighbourhood, where delightful dining options and a charming ambiance await. Our return to the hotel will be scheduled for approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 14 - Rome - Florence
Leaving the timeless beauty of Rome behind, we head north, embracing the scenic landscapes en route to Florence. Our first stop in this artistic heart of Italy is the Piazzale Michelangelo, offering a panoramic view that showcases Florence's stunning skyline. From this vantage point, you can take in the city's grandeur before we proceed to the historic centre.After enjoying some time for lunch, a local expert will guide us through Florence's rich history on a walking tour. As we wander through the cobbled streets, we will visit remarkable sites including the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria, each a testament to Florence's reputation as an open-air museum. Following the tour, you’ll have the freedom to explore the city’s treasures at your leisure.As evening falls, Florence's vibrant restaurant scene awaits, with numerous dining options featuring a variety of international cuisines. Whether you choose to indulge in local Italian flavours or something different, the city offers an array of choices to suit all palates. Day 15 - Florence - Venice
As we journey across the picturesque Apennine Mountains, the day unfolds with stunning landscapes that lead us to the enchanting city of Venice. Our adventure in this iconic destination begins with a boat ride across the tranquil waters of the Giudecca Canal to Venice Island. In the heart of the city, we explore the magnificent St. Mark’s Square with the expert guidance of a local. Following this, we delve into the world of Murano glass at a renowned factory, where you'll witness the intricate craftsmanship that brings this ancient art to life. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to wander and soak up the unique charm of Venice at your own pace. We conclude our day with accommodation in the Mestre district, providing a comfortable and convenient base for your Venetian explorations.
