Day 1 - London
Welcome to your tour. Upon arrival in London, we’ll transfer you to your hotel where you’ll have some free time to settle in and explore at your leisure. In the afternoon, you can find detailed information about the start of your journey on the notice boards at the hotel reception.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - London
We begin the day with a panoramic tour of London led by a local guide, offering insight into the city’s rich culture and history. You will see iconic landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, and Buckingham Palace, where there may be the chance to witness the Changing of the Guard, depending on the schedule. In the evening, we will meet in Piccadilly for a leisurely walk through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho—areas known for their vibrant atmosphere, theatres, and entertainment options. You will have ample choice of restaurants for dinner before we return to the hotel.
Day 3 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
On the morning of day three, we visit the British Museum, one of the world’s oldest museums, where we explore artefacts spanning cultures across the globe. After some free time for lunch, we head to Camden, a vibrant district famous for its eclectic street market. Here you can browse a wide range of unique items and enjoy lunch at one of the many food stalls or small restaurants. Around 4:00 p.m., we travel to Colchester, England’s oldest recorded town, taking a leisurely walk through its historic streets. We then continue on to Harwich to board the ferry for an overnight crossing to the Netherlands, staying in en suite cabins. Please note, due to limited cabin availability, the itinerary may be adjusted—alternatives include travelling from London to Amsterdam via a daytime ferry with an overnight stay in Antwerp, or by train or flight to Amsterdam.
Day 4 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
We arrive in the Netherlands at Hoek van Holland around 8:00 am and visit Volendam, a quaint fishing village known for its traditional atmosphere and scenic harbour. Afterwards, we continue to Amsterdam for a guided city tour that highlights key landmarks: the iconic windmill and Rembrandt statue, the modern elegance of the South District, and the historic diamond-cutting district at Museum Square. We then disembark in the city centre, concluding the tour there, leaving you free to explore Amsterdam at your leisure.
Day 5 - Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris
After breakfast, we travel to Belgium, arriving in Brussels – the capital and seat of major European institutions. We explore the elegant Grand Place, a fine example of Flemish Baroque architecture, and see the famous Manneken Pis statue. Brussels combines a rich history with a vibrant, multicultural atmosphere and is also famed for its chocolate. In the afternoon, we continue into France, reaching Paris by the evening.
Day 6 - Paris
We begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Palace of Versailles, famed for its opulent architecture and extensive gardens (admission not included). After returning to Paris, we explore Montmartre, a distinctive bohemian quarter known for its artistic heritage and vibrant cabarets. To round off, we take a panoramic city tour with a local guide, highlighting Paris’s grand avenues and iconic monuments. We then return to the hotel, with an optional variety show available in the evening for those who wish to attend.
Day 7 - Paris
We begin the day in central Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. You will have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor of this famous landmark—tickets are included. Following this, we take a leisurely boat cruise along the Seine, lasting around one hour and fifteen minutes, offering a unique perspective of the city’s notable sights. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your own pace; please note that transfers back to the hotel after free time are not included. If wait times at the Eiffel Tower are long, we may adjust the visit to a different time or to the following day for your convenience.
Day 8 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
Today we travel through the Burgundy region, famed for its rolling vineyards and distinguished wines. Our first stop is Beaune, a charming town known for its colourful flower-lined streets, historic hospice, and wine museum. You’ll have free time here to enjoy lunch and take a stroll. We then continue to Lyon, the former capital of Roman Gaul situated on the banks of the Rhône. Lyon’s historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and we’ll take a cable car up to Notre-Dame de Fourvière for impressive views of the city. You’ll have some free time to explore at your own pace. Please note that in some cases, part of the group will stay overnight in Chambéry, a nearby city with a medieval character and notable castle, where you will have the opportunity for a morning visit before continuing.
Day 9 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today we travel into Switzerland, beginning with a visit to Geneva. We'll pass by the Palace of Nations, home to the European headquarters of the United Nations, and explore the English Garden, noted for its floral clock, before admiring the Jet d?Eau, Europe's tallest fountain. After lunch, we continue through the scenic Three Lakes region, following routes alongside Lake Geneva and Lake Neuch?tel. We'll stop in Neuch?tel, where you can take a lakeside walk, explore the historic town centre, or visit the striking 10th-century castle. Our journey concludes in Zurich in the late afternoon. Please note, depending on group size, this leg may be completed by train, in which case there will be no stop in Neuch?tel.
Day 10 - Zurich
We begin the day with a guided tour of Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city and its financial and cultural hub. Known for its banking sector, Zurich has twice been named the world’s city with the highest quality of life. Following the city tour, we’ll embark on a scenic cruise of nearly two hours on Lake Zurich. Along the way, we’ll make brief stops to visit charming lakeside villages. We disembark in Rapperswil, a picturesque town famous for its medieval castle. From there, we return to Zurich by train, offering a chance to experience the punctuality and efficiency of the Swiss rail system. Depending on group size, transfers to and from the city centre may be by public transport.
Day 11 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today we travel through some of Switzerland’s most stunning landscapes, framed by towering mountains and crystal-clear lakes. Our first stop is Grindelwald in the Interlaken region, where we’ll pause for coffee before taking a cable car up the mountain. From there, we’ll follow a winding path to a suspended bridge that offers spectacular views of the surrounding glaciers — crossing it is a memorable experience for those feeling adventurous. Lunch on the mountain is included. Afterwards, we head to Lucerne, one of Switzerland’s most picturesque cities, where you’ll have free time to explore its charming streets and waterfront before we return to Zurich. There is also an optional full-day excursion available, starting in the morning, which includes a visit to Mount Titlis via rotating cable car. At over 3,000 metres, the summit provides breathtaking panoramic views of the glacier and Alpine peaks.
Day 12 - Zurich
After breakfast, your tour concludes in Zurich. You’ll have time to reflect on your journey and prepare for your onward arrangements, taking with you lasting memories of the diverse landscapes and cultures you’ve experienced.
