Every Golden Triangle tour starts in Delhi, and most finish there too. Sightseeing takes in the Jama Masjid and a rickshaw ride through Old Delhi, then Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub Minar and a drive past India Gate. Two nights in the city tends to be the norm with arrival transfers being included on most departures.
Agra is the shortest stop on the Golden Triangle and the reason most people reserve. The Taj Mahal is scheduled for sunrise on most itineraries, with Agra Fort afterward. One night is standard with a few routes visiting twice, at sunset and again the following morning, which is the better option if the winter fog concerns you.
Jaipur is the only Rajasthani city on the Golden Triangle route. Amber Fort takes up a morning, reached by jeep and followed by the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and the Hawa Mahal. Two nights on most itineraries leaves an afternoon to explore the bazaars in addition to some routes adding the Chand Baori stepwell at Abhaneri nearby.

Ranthambore National Park is the closest of them, around three hours south of Jaipur, and ten days is roughly the minimum that makes a tiger safari worth building in. We had some great experience with the places we visited. Our tour guide was very informative, helpful and knowledgeable. We were extremely impressed with all the hotels we stayed in. The Taj Mahal was the highlight of the sights we visited. Transportation from various places and bus were great.

The Connaught Clubhouse in Delhi where we had lunch 2 days in a row has a fantastic menu. The Molecule in Agra was also a winner, fantastic atmosphere It was just the unbearable heat but that is not controllabble.

AllexandraThe Taj Mahal is indeed a must, but the night in the desert camp with the sunset in the desert and the dance and music show was unbelievable. During bus rides, the tour guide played music from his phone. Most of the songs were american songs, either from the 80's or from today. I understand he did that to please the young people on the trip. However, I find it would have made it a more authentic experience if he had played Indian music

A tipping fee was collected from us in advance but our north India tour guide asked us to top again this not acceptable Kerala tour guide told us a price for each guide so there was no double dipping. AlexI thought the tour even though was quite short, gave people like us who had never previously been to the India a window to its culture, history, insight to daily life expressed through the guides, nature and other facets that make up the rich tapestry of this colourful, bustling and diverse land Found the time between finishing the first stage and commencing the southern section proper is too drawn out. Suggest those joining the south India tour are flown out of Jaipur to Kochi thus avoiding going back to Delhi and saving a day.

The Golden Triangle is India's most popular tour route, linking three cities in the north, Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, that form a rough triangle on the map. It packs in the capital, the Taj Mahal and the palaces of Jaipur, which is why it is the classic first trip to India.
Five days is the minimum for the Golden Triangle, with one night in each of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. It works, but two of those days go to the road and the pace is quick.
