Itinerary
Day 1 - Vienna
Welcome to your tour. We arrange your transfer to the hotel, then you have free time. You will receive information in the afternoon – either personally or via the notice board at hotel reception.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Vienna
We set out on a panoramic tour with a local guide, taking in grand avenues, elegant palaces, expansive parks and the lively city centre. In the afternoon you have free time to explore. In the evening we include a transfer to Grinzing – once a wine growing village and now a charming district known for its traditional taverns – where you can choose a place for dinner.
Day 3 - Vienna - Budapest
After around three hours we arrive in Budapest, Hungary. We begin on lively Váci utca, where you have free time for lunch. We then set off on an included boat trip on the Danube – historic Buda on one bank and cosmopolitan Pest on the other – followed by a panoramic tour of the Queen of the Danube. You then have some free time. In the evening you can opt to join a Magyar show with dinner.
Day 4 - Budapest - Bratislava - Prague
We depart Budapest early for Bratislava, Slovakia – a delightful Danube city with an attractive historic centre – where you have time to explore and enjoy lunch. We continue to the Czech Republic, reaching Prague in the evening. We provide a transfer to Old Town Square, a superb first taste of the city’s atmosphere and sights, with plenty of options for dinner, from Czech to Chinese, Indian or Italian. We then return to the hotel.
Day 5 - Prague
Today we explore Prague, the Baroque jewel of Europe. A local guide leads a panoramic tour of the city’s key landmarks, including a visit to Prague Castle – admission included. Afterwards we enjoy an included boat ride on the Vltava. In the afternoon you have free time to continue discovering the city.
Day 6 - Prague - Pilsen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
We leave Prague early and call at Pilsen in western Bohemia, famed for its beer. You have time to wander the historic centre – Old Town Square, the cathedral, the Plague Column and the Renaissance town hall. We then cross into Germany and follow part of the Romantic Road to Rothenburg, a storybook town often named among the country’s most beautiful. Afterwards we continue to Frankfurt, Germany’s financial capital. On arrival in the evening you have free time in the historic centre, with many restaurants to choose from, including Indian, Asian, Italian and international options.
Day 7 - Frankfurt
After breakfast our journey comes to an end – taking with it wonderful memories.
