Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Xiamen

On arrival in Xiamen, we are met by our local guide and driver and transferred to the hotel, a journey of around 30 minutes. The remainder of the day is at leisure, giving you time to rest after your journey or begin exploring the city independently.
Day 2 - Gulangyu Island

After breakfast at the hotel, we drive to the pier and take the ferry to Gulangyu Island, a car-free island known for its colonial-era architecture and relaxed atmosphere.
We visit Shuzhuang Garden, located at the southern tip of the island. The garden was created in 1913 by Lim Nee Kar, who designed it as a reminder of his family home in Taiwan. It was donated to the Chinese government in 1955 and later opened to the public.
We then continue to Sunlight Rock and the Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall. Sunlight Rock, also known as Huang Rock, sits atop Longtou Mountain and, at 92.7 metres above sea level, is the highest point on Gulangyu Island. From here, we enjoy views across the island and the surrounding sea.
Lunch is served at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we explore the Historic International Settlement and stroll along Longtou Road. Gulangyu is a clear example of cultural exchange, with buildings reflecting a mix of traditional Southern Fujian, Western Classical Revival and colonial veranda styles.
We also visit Hi Heaven to watch a traditional Southern Fujian dialect puppet show, offering an insight into local performing arts.
After returning to Xiamen by ferry, we drive back to the city centre and stroll through the traditional Fish Market and along Zhongshan Road, a lively pedestrian street lined with shops and historic buildings. We then transfer back to the hotel. Dinner is at your own arrangement.
Day 3 - Yongding Tulou

Xiamen - Yongding. Following breakfast, we drive to Yongding, a journey of approximately three hours through the countryside of Fujian Province.
Lunch is enjoyed at a local restaurant before we visit the Yongding Tulou Cluster, specifically the Chuxi Tulou Group in Xiayang Township. This area is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is renowned for its large earthen communal buildings.
The oldest and largest round tulou in this cluster dates back to 1419, during the reign of the Yongle Emperor of the Ming Dynasty. The structure features two concentric rings, with the outer ring rising four storeys high and containing 53 rooms on each level, illustrating the communal lifestyle of the Hakka people.
In the late afternoon, we drive back to Xiamen and transfer to the hotel. Dinner is at leisure.
Day 4 - Departure from Xiamen
After breakfast at the hotel, the morning is at leisure until we transfer to the airport or railway station for departure.
