Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris! Upon your arrival, we will arrange a transfer to your hotel, providing you with some free time to unwind and explore the surroundings at your leisure. In the afternoon, detailed information about the commencement of your tour will be shared with you—either through an in-person briefing or via information signs situated at the hotel reception. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
On the second day, we begin our exploration of the iconic Palace of Versailles, a symbol of French grandeur famed for its exquisite gardens and opulent architecture – though please note, admission is not included. After immersing ourselves in the regal history of Versailles, we return to Paris to explore Montmartre, a district steeped in bohemian charm, well-known for its vibrant community of artists, painters, and historic cabarets. Our day continues with a panoramic tour of the city, led by a knowledgeable local guide, allowing us to admire Paris’s sweeping avenues and magnificent landmarks. As the day draws to a close, we return to our hotel. For those interested, there is the option to attend a lively variety show in the evening, offering an entertaining insight into Parisian nightlife.
Day 3 - Paris
We begin our day in the heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower – you’ll have the chance to journey up to its second level, admiring the spectacular views from this world-renowned iron structure (tickets included). Following this, we’ll enjoy a delightful cruise along the Seine, which lasts approximately an hour and fifteen minutes, offering a unique perspective of the city’s landmarks. In the afternoon, you’ll have the freedom to explore Paris at your own pace – please note that transfer back to the hotel is not included. In case the wait times at the Eiffel Tower are particularly long, we may reschedule this visit for a more convenient time or on Sunday.
Day 4 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
Today, we venture into the picturesque heart of France, travelling through the renowned Bourgogne region, famed for its beautiful vineyards and exceptional wines. Our first destination is the charming town of Beaune, set in the centre of Burgundy. Here, you'll find yourself amidst flower-adorned streets, and you can explore landmarks such as the historic hospices and the wine museum. After some free time to enjoy lunch and wander around, we continue our journey to Lyon, once the capital of Roman Gaul, nestled on the banks of the Rhône River. Lyon's historic centre is celebrated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. We'll take a cable car to the top of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, offering a stunning panoramic view of the city. You will have some leisure time to explore Lyon at your own pace. Please note, occasionally part of the group might stay in Chambéry, a nearby city to Lyon. In such cases, we'll travel to Chambéry in the evening for an overnight stay, and in the morning, you'll have an opportunity to visit this medieval-style city known for its captivating historic centre and grand castle.
Day 5 - Lyon - Geneva - Milan
As we embark on an exciting day, our journey takes us into Switzerland, where we'll see the impressive landscape of Geneva. Our coach will showcase significant landmarks such as the Palace of Nations—home to the European headquarters of the United Nations—and the picturesque English Garden, famed for its iconic flower clock and Europe's tallest fountain, the Jet d'Eau. After some leisure time to explore this charming Swiss city beside its serene lake, we'll continue our adventure towards the majestic Alps, boasting Europe's highest peaks. Our route includes a long tunnel through Mont Blanc, which leads us straight into Italy. We expect to reach Milan by the afternoon, where our guide will reveal the splendour of Piazza del Duomo. Here, you'll have the chance to roam its historic heart before concluding the day's explorations.
Day 6 - Milan - Venice
Leaving Milan, we journey through the verdant plains surrounding the Po River, heading towards Venice. We aim to arrive by early afternoon, around 1:00 p.m., where we will take a scenic boat trip to the iconic St. Mark's area. Once there, immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of Venice as we embark on a panoramic tour. Enhance your experience by opting for a gondola ride if you wish. We will be staying just outside the city in the Mestre area, offering a convenient base for our time in Venice.
Day 7 - Venice - Florence
Today, we will journey through the scenic Apennine Mountains, ultimately arriving in the heart of Florence. Our first stop is the iconic Piazzale Michelangelo, where you can take in remarkable panoramic views of the city. You'll have some free time for lunch before we continue to the city centre. In the afternoon, we'll enjoy a guided walking tour, allowing us to explore Florence's most celebrated landmarks, including the historic Ponte Vecchio, the majestic Duomo, and the vibrant Piazza della Signoria. Florence, known as an open-air museum, is rich in history and art, offering an abundance of cultural experiences. Afterward, you'll have additional free time to discover the city at your own pace, soaking in its unique atmosphere.
Day 8 - Florence - Siena - Assisi - Rome
On the eighth day of our tour, we'll venture to the lovely city of Siena, renowned for its stunning Piazza del Campo and splendid cathedral. Following our exploration of these architectural marvels, we'll continue to the town of Assisi. Here, you'll be treated to an enlightening tour of the Basilica led by either a local guide or a Franciscan monk. You'll have some free time to enjoy lunch before we set off for Rome, where we will arrive in the evening.
Day 9 - Rome
In the morning, we'll delve into the wonders of the Eternal City with a three-hour guided tour, offering both a walking exploration of Imperial Rome and a panoramic bus journey. As we traverse this ancient metropolis, you'll gain insights into one of the most pivotal cities in Western civilisation. Our tour will cover notable landmarks, including the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the iconic Colosseum and the Imperial Forums, the expansive Circus Maximus, the impressive Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant’Angelo. We'll conclude our guided adventure in Vatican City at around 11:30 a.m. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure, allowing you to further explore or perhaps seek out some hidden gems at your own pace.
Day 10 - Rome
Today is yours to explore the vibrant city of Rome at your own pace. Whether you're keen to delve into its rich history or savour its delectable cuisine, the choice is yours. Perhaps you'll choose to wander the ancient streets, uncovering hidden gems and marvellous architecture along the way, or opt to relax in one of its charming cafes with a view of everyday Roman life unfolding around you. This day allows you the freedom to create your own Roman adventure, making use of your time as you see fit, to immerse yourself fully in the heart of Italy's bustling capital.
Day 11 - Rome - San giovanni in venere abbey - Termoli - Bari
Today, we'll head towards the Adriatic Sea, journeying through the stunning landscapes of the Apennine Mountains. Our first stop is the San Giovanni in Venere Abbey, a striking 11th-century structure built on the foundations of an ancient Roman temple—admission is included. Following this, we'll visit Termoli, a charming coastal town where the beach is beautifully bordered by the old town's walls. You'll find its 13th-century castle and Romanesque cathedral particularly captivating. Enjoy some free time here to have lunch and take a leisurely stroll. We'll then continue to Bari, a city with a rich history dating back to pre-Roman times. Here, you'll have the opportunity to wander through the old town with its narrow streets and charming atmosphere, showcasing its vibrant southern Italian character.
Day 12 - Bari - Brindisi - Lecce - Gallipoli - Brindisi
Continuing our journey along the coast, we arrive at Brindisi, a historical port city encircled by ancient walls. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll by the sea, admire the iconic Roman column, and explore the charming old quarter. Next, we travel to Lecce, often hailed as the "Florence of the South" due to its extravagant baroque architecture. You’ll have some time to wander through the historic centre, marvelling at the city’s ornate buildings and churches, and perhaps enjoying a local lunch.In the afternoon, we proceed to Gallipoli, a captivating coastal city nestled along the Ionian Sea. Established by the Greeks, Gallipoli, meaning "beautiful town," is steeped in history. Its old town, a fascinating maze of narrow streets and storied buildings, is linked to the mainland by a 17th-century bridge. This area reflects diverse cultural influences, including those from Arab, Norman, and Aragonese traditions. Highlights of our visit will include the cathedral, castle, and ancient city walls. We return to Brindisi for our evening accommodation, rounding off a day filled with historical and architectural wonder.
Day 13 - Brindisi - Alberobello - Matera - Naples
Today, we explore two remarkable towns showcasing unique Italian architecture and history. Our journey begins in Alberobello, renowned for its distinctive trulli houses. These conical-roofed marvels, crafted from stacked stone, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a testament to Italy's rural architectural ingenuity. We then proceed to Matera in the Basilicata region, famous for its ancient centre and the Sassi di Matera. Here, we delve into a landscape filled with ancient dwellings and constructions hewn into the rock itself, a living example of historical human habitation that has persisted for thousands of years and is also recognised as a World Heritage Site.After a delightful lunch in Matera, included as part of our itinerary, we continue our journey through the breathtaking mountain scenery of Basilicata and Campania. By evening, we will arrive in Naples, where you'll have the opportunity to explore at your leisure, soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of this storied city.
Day 14 - Naples - Capri - Pompeii - Rome
Our day begins with a scenic ferry journey to the enchanting island of Capri, celebrated for its striking natural beauty and opulent lifestyle. Upon arrival, you may choose to take a captivating boat trip to the Grotta Bianca or ride the cable car up to Capri town. Here, the Gardens of Augustus offer breathtaking panoramic views, perfect for a leisurely stroll. We'll then return to Naples, where you'll have free time to explore the city and enjoy lunch at your own pace. In the afternoon, our adventure continues with a visit to the ancient city of Pompeii, where we'll enjoy a guided tour of the site. Once a bustling city, Pompeii was buried under volcanic ash during the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. You'll have the chance to explore the remarkably preserved ruins and gain insight into life in this historical city. As evening falls, we'll make our way back to Rome, where our journey concludes for the day.

Following breakfast, our journey concludes, leaving you with cherished memories to reflect upon your time with us.
