Itinerary
Day 1 - Explore Chambord, Amboise & Enjoy Wine Tasting

Paris - Chambord - Vouvray - Amboise - Clos Luce - Loire Valley. You begin at 07:30 with pick up from your hotel in Paris. You travel about 180 kilometres on the motorway – roughly 2.5 hours – in a comfortable, air conditioned Mercedes minivan while your guide introduces the Loire Valley’s châteaux.
From 10:00 to 12:00 you visit the Château de Chambord. Built between 1519 and 1547 for King Francis I, it is the largest château in the Loire, renowned for its French Renaissance architecture and its open double spiral staircase, which allows two people to ascend without meeting – Leonardo da Vinci may have influenced its design. From 12:00 to 13:00 you have time for lunch at Chambord before you continue to Vouvray – about 70 kilometres, around 1 hour 10 minutes.
From 14:15 to 15:30 you enjoy a guided tasting at Domaine Huet, learning about longstanding local winemaking practices and tasting Vouvray wines. At 15:40 you drive to Amboise – about 20 minutes, 19 kilometres.
From 16:00 to 17:20 you explore the Château d’Amboise with a Histopad, discovering this 15th century royal residence of King Charles VIII and its transition from Gothic to Renaissance styles. You can see the chapel where Leonardo da Vinci is buried.
You then stroll 400 metres to the nearby Clos Lucé for a 17:30 to 18:45 visit to the château and Parc Leonardo da Vinci, where Leonardo spent the last three years of his life. Around 19:00 you reach your hotel for the night.
Day 2 - Discover Chenonceau & Saumur Wine Region and Return to Paris

Loire Valley - Chenonceau - Saumur - Paris. You depart your hotel at 08:30 for the Château de Chenonceau – about a 30‑minute drive. From 09:00 to 11:00 you visit this renowned “Ladies’ Castle”, admired for its elegant arches spanning the River Cher. There is time to explore the rooms and to walk around the exterior for photos.
At 11:00 you continue towards Clos Rougeard – roughly 1 hour 20 minutes by road, about 115 km – and arrive in Saumur for lunch from 12:30 to 14:00. You choose where and what you would like to eat. At 14:00 you head to Clos Rougeard for a guided tasting from 14:15 to 15:30, then drive on to Domaine Guiberteau in Saint‑Just‑sur‑Dive for a second tasting from 15:45 to 17:00.
You set off for Paris at 17:00 – around 3 hours 30 minutes, approximately 330 km – arriving back in the city at about 20:30 for drop‑off at your hotel.
