Day 1 - Paris
Upon your arrival in Paris, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some leisure time to unwind or explore at your discretion. Later in the afternoon, you will receive essential information about the commencement of your tour. This may be communicated directly or via notifications at the hotel reception. Please be aware that the composition of the group may change during the tour as some travellers might join or leave at different stages. Rest assured, however, the group will consistently remain within the maximum size limit. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
On our second day in Paris, we will delve into the heart of French history at the illustrious Palace of Versailles. Although entry is not included, the breathtaking gardens alone are worth the visit. Returning to Paris, we will explore Montmartre, a quaint and bohemian area known for its artistic flair, where the spirit of painters and cabarets lingers in the air. To capture the essence of this magnificent city, we will then embark on a guided panoramic tour, showcasing Paris's grand avenues and iconic landmarks. We will wrap up the day back at the hotel, with an invitation for those interested to enjoy an optional variety show in the evening.
Day 3 - Paris - Tours
Our day begins amid the iconic sights of Paris, where we’ll ascend to the second level of the Eiffel Tower – admission is included, though do be prepared for possible waiting times. Following this, we’ll unwind on a leisurely hour-and-fifteen-minute cruise along the Seine, soaking up the city’s beautiful riverside landmarks from a unique perspective. You’ll then have the afternoon free to explore Paris at your own leisure, discovering hidden gems and renowned spots alike. By 5:30 p.m., we’ll depart Paris and journey to the splendid Loire Valley, arriving in the charming city of Tours by evening. Consider enjoying a relaxing stroll and an evening meal in the picturesque historic centre of Tours. Please bear in mind that due to potential long waiting times, the visit to the Eiffel Tower may be rescheduled to another time or day, if necessary, for logistical reasons.
Day 4 - Tours - Bordeaux - Lourdes
Today, we journey into the heart of southern France through scenic vineyards to arrive in the historic city of Bordeaux, whose centre proudly holds UNESCO World Heritage status. You will have time to enjoy lunch and explore the city. We recommend visiting the Port of the Moon and the majestic Cathedral of St. Andrew, which provide a glimpse into the city’s rich architectural heritage. Our journey continues as we head towards the picturesque Pyrenees, arriving in Lourdes by late afternoon. Here, you have the opportunity to attend the evocative candlelight procession, which takes place from late March to the end of October, and visit the various sacred sites at your leisure. Dinner will be served at the hotel for all our guests, offering a perfect end to your day.
Day 5 - Lourdes - Carcassonne - Narbona - Marseille
Continuing our adventure through the picturesque south of France, today we visit Carcassonne, famed for its impressive medieval fortifications. There, you'll have ample time to wander along the ancient walls and soak in the historic atmosphere. After a leisurely lunch, we travel onward to Narbonne. You will have the chance to explore this charming Occitan city at your own pace, discovering its scenic old town. As the day draws to a close, we arrive in Marseille, France's bustling second-largest city. We recommend taking a stroll around the lively Vieux-Port (Old Port), lined with quaint restaurants and teeming with vibrant local life.
Day 6 - Marseille - Aix-en-Provence - Avignon - Pont du Gard - Barcelona
Today, we'll explore the captivating region of Provence, beginning with a visit to Aix-en-Provence, renowned as the birthplace of the artist Paul Cézanne. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to meander through its charming historic centre, known for its quaint narrow streets, elegant fountains, and picturesque squares. Our next destination is Avignon, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll and savour lunch in this walled city perched on the banks of the Rhône River. Avignon, once the seat of the Catholic popes, was dubbed the "second Rome" until 1791, when it became part of France. The impressive Palace of the Popes serves as a testament to its illustrious past. We will then visit the Pont du Gard, where your entry is included. This remarkable Roman aqueduct, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, remains one of the finest and most well-preserved Roman structures in the world. Our journey continues as we travel towards Catalonia, arriving in the lively city of Barcelona in the evening.
Day 7 - Barcelona
We'll start the day with a panoramic tour of Barcelona, a city celebrated for its unique charm as one of Europe's most intriguing capitals. Positioned by the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is renowned for the modernist architecture of Gaudí, the vibrant atmosphere of Las Ramblas, and a rich history accentuated by hosting the Universal Exposition and the Olympics. You’ll have the afternoon to explore at your leisure, allowing you to delve deeper into the city's offerings. In the evening, we'll head to Maremagnum, a modern leisure and dining complex located by the sea near Plaza de Colón. Here, you can savour a casual walk through this bustling area and choose from an array of dining options.
Day 8 - Barcelona
After breakfast, we conclude our memorable journey, leaving you with delightful and lasting memories of your time with us.
