Itinerary
Day 1 - Discover Normandy & Travel to Mont Saint-Michel

Paris – Rouen – Honfleur – Mont Saint-Michel. You begin with a 07:30 pick–up from your hotel in Paris. Your guide welcomes you as you set off for Rouen, about 135 kilometres – roughly a two–hour motorway drive in a comfortable, air–conditioned Mercedes minivan – sharing background on Normandy and the places you will visit along the way.
Around 09:30 you arrive in Rouen for a one–hour guided walking tour of the historic centre, long associated with the Dukes of Normandy and renowned for its Gothic landmarks. You visit the 13th–16th century Cathédrale Notre–Dame, continue to the Vieux Marché – site of Joan of Arc’s execution – see the Church of Joan of Arc, the 16th–century Palais de Justice, and the Gros–Horloge.
At 11:00 you continue to Honfleur – about 80 kilometres, around one hour – arriving at 12:00 for a one–hour guided stroll around its famous port and old town. Once a key 15th–century defensive harbour, Honfleur later drew 19th–century artists and has a history reaching back to 1027 under Duke Richard III and through the Hundred Years’ War before its later decline as a suburb of Le Havre. You then have free time for lunch – you can choose one of the restaurants around the Vieux Bassin.
At 14:00 you set off for Mont Saint–Michel – about 190 kilometres, around two hours – arriving between 16:00 and 19:30. You make your way up the narrow medieval streets to the summit for panoramic views and visit the Benedictine Abbey – entrance included, with audio guides available. First settled in 709 and dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, the abbey village is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
After the abbey, you invite you to an apple cider tasting to sample local cider, Pommeau and Calvados. You then have free time to explore the island’s shops and museums or take a walk to enjoy the setting, and you can have lunch at a local restaurant. At 19:30 you check in to a hotel near Mont Saint–Michel for the night.
Day 2 - Explore Chenonceau, Amboise and Chambord & Return to Paris

Mont Saint-Michel – Chenonceau – Amboise – Chambord – Paris. You depart the Mont Saint–Michel area at 07:30 for Château de Chenonceau – about 3.5 hours by motorway – arriving around 11:00. You explore the “ladies’ castle”, known for its graceful arches over the River Cher and links to Catherine de Medici. The Renaissance gardens, planted with more than 130,000 flowers, are a highlight. You provide a brochure explaining each room, and you have free time to stroll the gardens before you continue.
At 12:30 you drive to Amboise – a short 15–20 minutes – and you have time for lunch from 12:45 to 13:45 if you wish. Thereafter, you visit Château Royal d’Amboise, once the 15th‑century residence of King Charles VIII, reflecting the transition from Gothic to Renaissance architecture. You also see the chapel where Leonardo da Vinci is buried.
At 15:00 you continue to a local family winery for a guided visit and tasting from 15:15 to 16:00, learning about traditional production before sampling local wines.
You then depart for Château de Chambord, arriving around 17:00 for a guided visit until 19:00. You trace the story of this French Renaissance masterpiece, built 1519–1547 by Francis I, noted for its vast scale – 440 rooms, 282 fireplaces and 84 staircases – and its open double–spiral staircase, whose two flights rise three floors without meeting and may have been designed by Leonardo da Vinci.
You leave for Paris at 19:00 – approximately 180 km and about 3 hours by motorway with one rest stop – arriving around 21:30–22:30 for drop‑off at your hotel.
