Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris! Upon arrival, we'll ensure you're comfortably transferred to your hotel. Once settled, you’ll have some free time to start exploring this vibrant city on your own or relax and unwind after your journey. In the afternoon, important information regarding the commencement of your tour will be available on the notification boards in the hotel reception area, so be sure to check there. Enjoy your first day in the City of Lights, where adventure awaits around every corner! Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
On our second day, we delve into France's rich cultural tapestry with a visit to the opulent Palace of Versailles, renowned for its breathtaking gardens and its pivotal role in French history. While entry is not included, wandering through the expansive grounds offers a glimpse into the grandeur of bygone French royalty. Upon our return to Paris, we will explore Montmartre, the city's bohemian heart known for its vibrant art scene, where renowned artists have left their mark. As we continue our journey through the capital, a local guide will lead a panoramic city tour, introducing us to Paris's grand avenues and iconic landmarks. Once we return to the hotel, you have the option to enjoy an evening variety show—a perfect way to end the day with a taste of Parisian entertainment.
Day 3 - Paris
We begin our day in the vibrant heart of Paris with a visit to the world-renowned Eiffel Tower. You'll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor and take in the breathtaking views of the city from this iconic iron structure. Following our ascent, we will enjoy a leisurely cruise along the River Seine, lasting approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. This relaxing journey offers a different perspective of Paris's charming landscape and historical landmarks. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace, whether it's strolling through the elegant streets, visiting museums, or simply soaking up the atmosphere of this remarkable city. Please note that the transfer back to the hotel is not included. If there are lengthy wait times at the Eiffel Tower, we may adjust the visit to a different time or to Sunday to ensure your convenience.
Day 4 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
Today, we embark on a delightful journey through the picturesque Bourgogne region, celebrated for its scenic vineyards and world-renowned wines. Our first stop is the charming town of Beaune in the heart of Burgundy, where you'll find flower-lined streets, the historic hospice, and a fascinating wine museum. After enjoying some free time for lunch and a stroll, we continue to Lyon, a city with a rich Roman heritage, beautifully situated on the banks of the Rhône River. The historic centre of Lyon is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and we will take a cable car up to Notre-Dame de Fourvière, where we can soak in magnificent views of the cityscape. You'll then have the freedom to explore the city at your own pace. Note that in some instances, part of the group may stay in Chambéry, a nearby city. Should this be the case, we will head to Chambéry in the evening for an overnight stay, and in the morning, you'll have time to discover this medieval-style city, known as the capital of Savoy, with its delightful historic centre and remarkable castle.
Day 5 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today, we set off for Switzerland. Arriving in Geneva, we'll pass by the Palace of Nations, home to the United Nations' European headquarters. We'll take a stroll through the picturesque English Garden, where you can see the famous flower clock and the impressive Jet d'Eau, the tallest fountain in Europe. After enjoying lunch, our journey continues along the scenic shores of Lake Geneva and Lake Neuch?tel, traversing the beautiful Three Lakes region, which is adorned with sprawling vineyards against a backdrop of stunning mountain scenery. We will make a stop in Neuch?tel, offering you the chance to walk along the idyllic lakeside, explore the historic town centre, or visit the striking 10th-century castle. Our day concludes in Zurich, with our arrival anticipated for the late afternoon. Please note, depending on the number of passengers joining us for the Geneva to Zurich leg, this portion may be undertaken by train, meaning we may forgo the stop in Neuch?tel.
Day 6 - Zurich
Today, we delve into Zurich, Switzerland's bustling financial hub and cultural gem. Our guide will lead us through this vibrant city, celebrated for its impressive quality of life and rich banking heritage. Following our urban exploration, we'll enjoy a nearly two-hour scenic cruise on Lake Zurich. As we glide across the water, we'll pause to appreciate the idyllic villages scattered along the shore. Our journey finds us in Rapperswil, a picturesque village boasting a fascinating medieval castle. From here, we return to Zurich by train, offering a firsthand experience of the Swiss railway's famed efficiency and punctuality. Please note, depending on the group's size, transfers in and out of the city centre might involve public transport.
Day 7 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today, we embark on a journey through Switzerland’s breathtaking landscapes, featuring majestic mountains and pristine lakes. We begin our day in the Interlaken region and make our first stop at Grindelwald for a brief coffee break. Following this, we will take a cable car ride up the mountain, where a winding path awaits, leading us to a suspended bridge. For the adventurous among us, crossing the bridge offers magnificent views of the surrounding glaciers. We will then enjoy lunch on the mountain, which is included in the day's activities. After descending, we head to Lucerne, one of Switzerland's most picturesque cities. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore the charming cityscape at your own pace. Our day concludes with a return to Zurich. For those seeking additional adventure, there is the option of a full-day excursion to Mount Titlis, beginning with some free time in Lucerne. This includes a rotating cable car ride to the summit, offering extraordinary views of the glacier and the Alps from over 3,000 metres above sea level.
Day 8 - Zurich - Strasbourg - Paris
We will set off from Zurich and head towards the enchanting French region of Alsace. Our destination is Strasbourg, a city that seamlessly combines French and German influences, offering a unique cultural experience. You will have time to wander through the city, discovering its quaint streets and striking architecture at your own pace. Following our visit, we will continue our journey to Paris, where we are scheduled to arrive in the evening.
Day 9 - Paris
As your journey concludes, we will share a final breakfast together, providing an opportunity to reflect on the incredible experiences we've enjoyed throughout the tour. You will then take your leave, carrying with you a collection of wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
