Day 1 - Berlin
Welcome to Berlin – we’ll transfer you to your hotel, after which you’ll have free time to settle in. In the afternoon, please check the information boards at hotel reception for details on the start of your tour.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Berlin
Immerse yourself in Berlin with a guided panoramic tour of Germany’s capital. From the coach we take in Museum Island, the Television Tower, the main shopping streets in the city centre, the old cathedral destroyed during the Second World War, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and the city’s expansive parks. We stop to visit the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum – powerful reminders of the city’s twentieth century history. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace, and in the early evening we provide a transfer to the lively Kantstrasse area.
Day 3 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
We travel by road through forested landscapes to Dresden – renowned for its outstanding architecture and arts. You’ll have free time to explore the palaces and choose a spot for lunch in one of the many restaurants and cafés. Later, we continue into the Czech Republic and arrive in Prague. We head to Old Town Square – a lively first taste of the city. You can pick a restaurant here for dinner, with options including Czech, Chinese, Indian and Italian. We then return to the hotel.
Day 4 - Prague
Today we explore Prague – the Baroque jewel of Europe. We start with a panoramic tour led by a local guide, taking in the city’s key landmarks. We then visit Prague Castle – admission included – before enjoying an included boat cruise on the River Vltava. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace.
Day 5 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
We depart Prague early for Bavaria and arrive in Munich around midday – you’ll have free time to wander the historic centre and choose a spot for lunch. In the afternoon we continue into Austria and the heart of the Alps. On arrival in Innsbruck, capital of Tyrol, you can explore the Old Town at your own pace. There’s time for dinner around the Golden Roof area and the Old Town.
Day 6 - Innsbruck - Zurich
We begin with a visit to the Swarovski Museum, renowned for its crystal creations. We explore the impressive gardens and learn about the process behind these pieces. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to stroll before we head to Zurich, enjoying the Tyrolean scenery en route. On arrival, you can spend the evening around the historic centre by the lake – there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, including Indian, Oriental, Italian, international and Swiss options.
Day 7 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
We leave Zurich for a day of striking Alpine scenery in the Interlaken region. Our first stop is Grindelwald for a short coffee break before we take the cable car up the mountain. At the top we follow a winding path to a suspended bridge – those who wish can cross for sweeping views of the surrounding glaciers. Lunch on the mountain is included. We then descend and continue to Lucerne, one of Switzerland’s most beautiful cities, where you’ll have time to explore at your own pace. We return to Zurich afterwards. Your guide will also offer an optional full day excursion that begins in the morning – after some free time in Lucerne, you can ride the rotating cable car to the summit of Mount Titlis, over 3,000 metres above sea level, for panoramic views of the glacier and the Alps.
Day 8 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
We leave Zurich early, crossing the Alps into Switzerland’s Italian speaking region. Our first stop is Bellinzona, renowned for its three medieval castles – UNESCO World Heritage Sites – overlooking the town. You’ll have free time to explore the historic centre. We then continue into Italy and pause in Como for lunch; this lakeside town, considered the jewel of Lombardy, is known for its gardens by the water and its impressive cathedral. In the afternoon we travel on to Milan, where we take you to Piazza del Duomo for time to look around before the transfer to the hotel.
Day 9 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
We depart Milan for Pisa and board the small tourist train to Piazza dei Miracoli – home to the celebrated ensemble that includes the Leaning Tower. You’ll have time to explore the square at your own pace. We then continue to Rome, arriving later in the day.
Day 10 - Rome
This morning we take a guided tour lasting around three hours, combining a walk through Imperial Rome with a panoramic coach drive. We’ll view the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums, the Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius and Castel Sant’Angelo. The tour ends at Vatican City at around 11:00. From here, you can join an optional visit with our guide to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel.In the evening we include a transfer to Trastevere – a lively neighbourhood known for its cosy restaurants – with return to the hotel at around 8:30 p.m.
Day 11 - Rome - Madrid
At the time advised by your guide, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your included flight to Madrid. On arrival, we’ll provide a transfer to your hotel. Your guide will contact you in the late afternoon – or you can consult the information at reception – to confirm the next day’s arrangements. Please note that the usual allowance is one piece of hold luggage up to 20 kg – any excess must be paid directly to the airline.
Day 12 - Madrid
This morning we take a guided tour of central Madrid, taking in Paseo del Prado, the Cibeles and Neptuno fountains, Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza de Colón and Plaza Mayor. We then visit Retiro Park – an oasis in the city centre – to see the lake and the Palacio de Cristal. Admission is included to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid. You have the rest of the afternoon free to explore at your own pace. In the evening, we include a transfer back to the hotel.
Day 13 - Madrid - Zaragoza - Poblet - Barcelona
This morning we depart Madrid, travelling across Castile into Aragon. In Zaragoza we stop to admire the Cathedral–Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, then continue to the serene Poblet Abbey – one of the world’s best-preserved medieval monasteries – with admission included. We end the day in Barcelona, arriving in the evening.
Day 14 - Barcelona
This morning we take a panoramic tour of Barcelona – a Mediterranean city celebrated for Gaudí and its modernist architecture, its lively Ramblas, and the legacies of its World Expositions and Olympic Games. The tour ends at Maremagnum, the waterfront leisure and dining complex beside Columbus Square, where you can stroll, shop or stop for lunch by the sea. The afternoon is at leisure for you to explore as you wish, and we return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Day 15 - Barcelona - Peniscola - Valencia
We travel south along the Mediterranean coast, pausing in Peniscola – a medieval walled city surrounded by beaches – where you’ll have time for a stroll. We then continue to Valencia, arriving around lunchtime. In the afternoon we join a guided tour of this port city on the Levantine coast, where more than 2,000 years of history sit alongside the contemporary City of Arts and Sciences. After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. We include a traditional local dinner.
Day 16 - Valencia - Alicante - Guadix - Granada
We continue through the Valencian Community to Alicante – a Mediterranean city of golden sandy beaches and a charming old quarter, dominated by the Castle of Santa Bárbara. You’ll have free time here for a stroll. We then travel through the arid landscapes of the Region of Murcia and stop en route for lunch. Crossing into Andalusia, our first stop is Guadix, famed for its inhabited cave houses; its historic centre combines a Renaissance cathedral, traditional neighbourhoods and views of the Sierra Nevada. We continue to Granada, arriving in the late afternoon – dinner included.
Day 17 - Granada
We spend a full day in Granada. If your tour includes tickets, we visit the Alhambra Palace and the beautiful Generalife Gardens – masterpieces from the Arab period. In the afternoon, you have free time to explore the city – you could visit the cathedral, which houses the tombs of the Catholic Monarchs.Important information: entry to the Alhambra is strictly regulated by law. To secure admission, tickets are issued when your reservation is confirmed – you must provide your full name and passport/ID number at the time of booking. Ticket costs are non-refundable if you cancel. In the rare event the Alhambra visit cannot go ahead, we will instead visit the Royal Alcázar of Seville, which offers similar historical and architectural significance.
Day 18 - Granada - Nerja - Malaga - Ronda - Seville
We leave Granada and take in striking scenery as we descend from the Sierra Nevada to the Mediterranean. We follow the Tropical Coast – its mild microclimate supports guavas, mangoes and avocados and once sustained sugar cane – and stop in Nerja, a charming seaside town set against impressive cliffs. We continue to Málaga, the lively capital of the Costa del Sol, where you’ll have time for lunch and a stroll through the historic centre. In the afternoon we head into the Andalusian sierras to reach Ronda, a beautiful white town renowned for the dramatic gorge that divides it, before continuing to Seville for a late afternoon arrival. Dinner is included at the hotel.
Day 19 - Seville
In the morning, we explore Seville on a guided city tour, taking in the cathedral with its famous Giralda, the banks of the Guadalquivir and the atmospheric neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana. After the tour, we enjoy an included boat ride on the Guadalquivir – a relaxing way to see the city from the water. In the evening, you can choose to attend a popular flamenco tablao.
Day 20 - Seville - Merida - Evora - Lisbon
We leave Seville, travelling through gentle hills and wide pasturelands towards Extremadura. In Mérida, we include entry to the Archaeological Ensemble – home to the Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre – a UNESCO World Heritage Site noted for its remarkable preservation. You’ll have time for lunch and a stroll in the pedestrian historic centre before we continue to Portugal. We stop in Évora – also a World Heritage city – known for its whitewashed streets, Renaissance palaces and cathedral. We then arrive in Lisbon in the evening.
Day 21 - Lisbon
In the morning, we’ll take a panoramic tour of Lisbon – the city of seven hills – with its winding lanes, iconic tiles and bright Atlantic light. We then visit the Belém neighbourhood, the historic waterfront from which Portuguese navigators set out in the 15th century. The afternoon is yours – you can wander through Bairro Alto and its viewpoint, or join an optional excursion to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril. In the evening, we provide a return transfer from lively Restauradores Square, lined with bars and cafés.
Day 22 - Lisbon
After breakfast in Lisbon, our journey concludes – we bid farewell. We hope you leave with lasting memories of your trip.
