Athens City Tour
Today you will embark on a coach tour of Greece's vibrant capital city, named after the goddess Athena and thought to be over 3000 years old. See various sites of interest including the Panathenaic Stadium (where the first modern Olympics were held in 1896), Temple of Olympian Zeus, and Syntagma Square, and enjoy a tour of the fascinating Acropolis Museum, recently voted one of the best museums in the world. The highlight of the morning is a visit to the Acropolis, the ancient hilltop sanctuary housing the architectural masterpieces of Classical Athens: the Parthenon, Propylaia, Temple of Athena Nike, and Erechtheion. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure in the old Plaka neighbourhood and perhaps shop for souvenirs on Ermou street.

At a Glance
The hotel in Athens should have originally been located within an easy walking distance of the main tourist attractions such as the Acropolis but was a long 35 min walk instead. Too far to stroll out on an evening to experience the restaurants and cafe culture in the city centre. Therefore the brochure and description were not true to what our expectations were and if we had been located with in eye dropping views of the acropolis, the holiday would have been so much better.”
