Day 1 - Athens
Welcome to Athens, the vibrant capital of Greece. Once you've arrived, we'll ensure your smooth transfer to the hotel. Take advantage of some free time in the afternoon to unwind or perhaps begin exploring the city’s blend of ancient history and contemporary culture at your own pace. Keep an eye out for important tour information posted on the boards at the hotel reception to ensure you're well-prepared for the exciting journey ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Athens - Mykonos
After enjoying breakfast, we transfer you to Lavrio Port for our 11:00 a.m. departure on a full-day Mediterranean cruise. As we set sail, take in the stunning sea views. By 6:00 p.m., we arrive in Mykonos, where you’ll have free time to explore this enchanting island, famous for its iconic windmills and whitewashed seaside houses. At 11:00 p.m., we set off from Mykonos, spending the night onboard.
Day 3 - Mykonos - Kusadasi - Patmos
On the third day of our Mediterranean cruise, we will arrive at Kusadasi, Turkey, at 7:00 a.m. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore the local bazaars, bursting with vibrant goods and souvenirs. Included in your excursion is a visit to the ancient city of Ephesus, renowned for its remarkable ruins and historical significance. By midday, we will set sail for Patmos, reaching this picturesque island by 4:00 p.m. Known as the place where St. John wrote the Apocalypse, Patmos offers you a chance to visit the cave where he lived, near the Monastery of the Apocalypse. After your exploration, we will depart at 9:00 p.m. for a restful overnight cruise. You might choose to end the day with a dance at the onboard nightclub.
Day 4 - Patmos - Heraklion - Santorini - Athens
Today, we continue our Mediterranean cruise and visit Heraklion, the vibrant capital of Crete, renowned as the centre of the great Minoan civilization. Here, you'll have time to soak up the lively atmosphere and perhaps explore some local attractions. Our journey then takes us to Santorini, the enchanting Greek island famous for its dramatic landscapes and iconic blue and white architecture. Be sure to capture some photos of its stunning vistas. We'll spend another night on board, allowing you to relax and enjoy the sea's tranquillity.
Day 5 - Athens
We arrive in Athens early in the morning and begin with a panoramic tour of this historic city. Our journey takes us past the Presidential Mansion and the iconic Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held. We continue to the National Library, as well as some of the bustling downtown plazas and the impressive facilities developed for the 2004 Olympic Games. The tour concludes at the foot of the Acropolis, offering you the opportunity to explore this ancient site at your leisure, though please note that admission is not included.
Day 6 - Athens - Kamena Vourla - Kalabaka
We set off early this morning, heading north through Greece, with our first stop at Kamena Vourla. This delightful seaside town is surrounded by striking natural scenery, making it a perfect spot to stretch our legs and take in the views. Continuing our journey, we arrive at the historic Thermopylae Mountain Pass, site of the renowned ancient battle. From here, we move on to the picturesque village of Kastraki, offering stunning valley vistas—a wonderful backdrop for your leisurely lunch break.Our adventure then leads us to the awe-inspiring Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dramatic rock formations and ancient monasteries perched atop towering cliffs. We include entry to one of these extraordinary monasteries, allowing you to explore the incredible history and architecture. As the day winds down, we travel to Kalambaka, where a delicious dinner awaits.
Day 7 - Kalabaka - Delphi - Athens
Today, we journey southwards through the captivating landscapes of the Thessaly region, eventually making our way to Delphi. Here, you will explore the magnificent archaeological site perched above the Gulf of Corinth, offering breathtaking views and a fascinating glimpse into ancient history. Take some time to enjoy lunch in this historically rich setting. Our travels continue with a visit to the Hosios Loukas Monastery, celebrated as one of Greece's most exquisite Byzantine monasteries and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire its remarkable 11th-century mosaics and soak in the serene atmosphere. We then make our way back to Athens, arriving in the evening.
Day 8 - Athens
