Aurora, Glaciers & Vikings
New
Begin in Reykjavik and finish back in Reykjavik on this four–day spin through Iceland’s South Coast and Golden Circle. You’ll dip into Viking heritage around Hella, explore ancient caves and chase the Northern Lights. Along the coast you’ll visit Skogafoss, Reynisfjara’s black sands and Kvernufoss, then get active with a guided glacier hike, ice climbing and a mesmerising ice cave. Expect Jökulsarlon and Diamond Beach, plus canyons and waterfalls. Round things off with the Golden Circle’s icons – Gullfoss, Geysir and Þingvellir – and a stop at Friðheimar. Scenic overnights and an optional aurora boat trip keep the pace easy and the views epic.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Reykjavik to Hella & Viking Costume Photo Shoot
We pick you up from your hotel in Reykjavik and travel east towards Hella for a day focused on heritage and geology. We begin with a fun Viking costume photo shoot - a nod to Iceland's early history - then explore the intriguing Caves of Hella, which showcase the area's volcanic character. We continue with a visit to a historic Viking farm experience before heading to the picturesque Hjalparfoss waterfall.
In the evening we check in at LandHotel or similar - well placed for viewing the Northern Lights. After nightfall we head out on a Northern Lights hunt, then return to the hotel for the night.
Day 2 - Skogafoss, Reynisfjara & Glacier Hike
We depart LandHotel (or similar) in the morning and travel east to Skogafoss, where we can climb the staircase for wide views over the falls. We continue to Kvernufoss for a short walk into its green canyon to reach the tucked-away waterfall. In Vik we pause for lunch, then visit Reynisfjara's black sand beach, known for its basalt columns, cliffs and strong Atlantic swell - we keep well back from the water. We then join a guided glacier hike with the option to try ice climbing on clean ice walls. After a full day we continue to the Glacier Lagoon Hotel for an overnight stay, and after dark we set out on a northern lights hunt.
Day 3 - Jokulsarlon, Seljalandsfoss & Northern Lights
We depart Vik in the morning and begin with an ice cave experience, walking through crystal‑clear chambers shaped by nature. We then visit Diamond Beach, where pieces of glacier ice sparkle on the black sands, and continue to the Jökulsarlon Glacier Lagoon to watch icebergs drifting on the water. We also explore the winding Fjaðrargljufur Canyon and stop at Seljalandsfoss, where we can walk behind the waterfall for a striking view. We end the day with an overnight stay at LandHotel - a prime spot for Northern Lights in South Iceland - and after dark we set out for a dedicated aurora hunt.
Day 4 - South Coast Highlights
We explore a string of south‑west highlights, beginning at the Hvita Canyon where turquoise waters wind through striking rock formations. We then take in the power of Gullfoss before heading to the Geysir geothermal area to watch Strokkur erupt. At Friðheimar we experience Icelandic farm life and enjoy fresh tomatoes, then continue to Þingvellir National Park - where Iceland's parliament was founded - to appreciate its remarkable setting. We return to Reykjavik for drop off. If you'd like to extend the evening, you can join an optional Northern Lights hunt by boat for a different perspective on the aurora.
