East Bali Discovery

We collect you from your hotel in South Bali, Ubud or Candidasa and transfer to Padangbai. On arrival, our hosts at Livingseas welcome us, and we take a short boat ride to a coral pontoon – a purpose built floating platform anchored above Bali’s largest coral reef restoration site. Here we’re introduced to coral reefs and marine conservation, learn how restoration works, and attach coral fragments to specially designed metal structures known as reef stars – creating a small section of reef that supports ocean regeneration. We then put on snorkelling gear and slip into the clear water while our divers carefully install the reef stars on the seabed, exploring the vibrant reef and observing marine life around the newly restored corals. We return by boat to shore for lunch at Wholesome Hub, then depart in the early afternoon – around 1:30 pm – for Candidasa to check in at your hotel. Overnight in Candidasa.

After breakfast at your hotel in Candidasa, we set out to Tenganan, one of Bali’s oldest Bali Aga villages. Here, we explore the unique culture of the island’s original inhabitants, known for preserving ancient customs, rituals and a way of life rooted in pre-Hindu Balinese society. For centuries Tenganan remained largely closed to outsiders, helping sustain its traditions. The village was deliberately planned – houses aligned in symmetrical rows along a central pathway – and its heart holds communal buildings such as meeting halls, temples, kitchens and ceremonial spaces. As we walk through the village, we gain insight into its distinctive architecture, social structure and the time-honoured practices that still shape daily life.At the end of the visit, we transfer you back to your hotel in South Bali or the Ubud area, or continue directly to DPS Airport for your return flight.
