Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome. Upon arrival, we'll transfer you to your hotel, where our guide will meet you to provide all the essential information for your stay. Additional details will also be available on an information board in the hotel reception. In the evening, we'll take you to Via Cavour, a lively street filled with a variety of restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and international cuisine - an excellent way to get your first taste of Rome.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Rome
In the morning, we'll explore the highlights of Rome on a three-hour guided tour. We begin with a walking tour through Imperial Rome, followed by a panoramic bus ride to see some of the city's most iconic sites, including the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant-Angelo. The tour concludes at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m., where our guide will offer an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, we'll transfer you to Trastevere, a lively neighbourhood known for its cosy restaurants and vibrant atmosphere, perfect for dinner. We'll return to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today we leave Rome and travel north through the scenic Italian countryside to Florence. On arrival, we head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy panoramic views over the city. From there, we walk towards the historic centre, where after some time for lunch, we join a guided tour with a local expert. Highlights include the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria - Florence truly is an open-air museum. After the tour, you'll have free time to explore further at your own pace. In the evening, the area offers a wide selection of restaurants with a variety of international cuisines for dinner.
Day 4 - Florence - Venice
Today we travel from Florence to Venice, crossing the Apennine Mountains and enjoying the scenic mountain views along the way. Upon arrival in Venice, we will take a boat across the Giudecca Canal to the island itself. With a local guide, we will explore the remarkable St Mark's Square before visiting the Murano Glass Factory to watch traditional glassmaking techniques in action. After the tour, you will have some free time to discover Venice independently. Accommodation this evening is in the Mestre district.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Zurich
We leave Venice and travel towards Austria, arriving in Innsbruck where you will have time to explore the historic town centre and enjoy lunch. Afterwards, we continue through the scenic Tyrolean landscape before crossing into Switzerland and reaching Zurich.
Day 6 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today's itinerary showcases some of Switzerland's most remarkable alpine scenery. We travel from Zurich through the Interlaken region, arriving first in Grindelwald, where we'll pause for a coffee break before boarding a cable car to ascend the mountain. At the top, we walk along a winding path to a suspended bridge that offers spectacular views of surrounding glaciers - adventurous travellers may wish to cross it. Lunch is included on the mountain. After descending, we continue to Lucerne, one of Switzerland's most picturesque cities, where you'll have time to explore its charming streets and lakeside setting at your own pace. We then return to Zurich for the evening. There's also an optional full-day excursion available, starting in the morning, which includes a visit to Mount Titlis. This involves a rotating cable car ride to the summit at over 3,000 metres, offering outstanding views of the glacier and the Alps.
Day 7 - Zurich - Strasbourg - Paris
We depart Zurich and travel to the Alsace region of France, stopping in Strasbourg, the region's capital. This charming city beautifully reflects both French and German heritage, offering a unique cultural blend. You'll have time to explore Strasbourg at your own pace before we continue to Paris, arriving in the evening.
Day 8 - Paris
Today, we immerse ourselves in French history with a visit to the grand Palace of Versailles, famed for its magnificent gardens (admission not included). On our return to Paris, we explore Montmartre, a bohemian district known for its artistic heritage and vibrant cabaret scene. To capture the essence of the city, we enjoy a panoramic tour with a local guide, passing through Paris's impressive avenues and iconic landmarks. We then return to the hotel. In the evening, you may choose to attend an optional variety show.
Day 9 - Paris - Rouen
We begin the day in central Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, including tickets to ascend to the second floor of this renowned iron landmark. Following this, we enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the Seine, offering a unique view of the city's famous sights. The afternoon is free for you to explore Paris at your own pace. Around 4:00 p.m., we depart Paris and travel to Normandy, arriving in Rouen. Here, you will have time to wander the historic centre of this vibrant city, which dates back to Roman times, featuring charming medieval architecture and an impressive Gothic cathedral. Please note, if wait times at the Eiffel Tower are lengthy, we may adjust the visit to a different time or day for your convenience.
Day 10 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
This morning, we'll enjoy a leisurely stroll through the heart of Rouen, taking in its medieval streets and remarkable Gothic cathedral. Afterwards, we'll travel north through France to board a ferry crossing the English Channel. Upon arrival in Canterbury - the religious centre of England renowned for its historic charm - you'll have a chance to explore before we continue on to London. There, you'll have some free time around the iconic Tower Bridge area, one of the city's most recognisable landmarks, before we settle in at the hotel.
Day 11 - London
We begin the day with a panoramic tour of London led by a local guide, highlighting the city's rich culture and history. You will see key landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, and Buckingham Palace, where you may have the chance to witness the iconic Changing of the Guard, subject to the schedule. In the evening, we will meet in Piccadilly and enjoy a leisurely walk through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho - areas known for their vibrant atmosphere, theatres, and entertainment. There will be plenty of options for dinner before we return to the hotel.
Day 12 - London
After breakfast, we'll visit the British Museum, one of the world's oldest and most renowned institutions, home to an extensive collection of artefacts from cultures across the globe. At lunchtime, we'll transfer you to Camden, famed for its lively and eclectic market offering a wide range of goods from around the world. The afternoon is then yours to explore at your leisure.
