Lake Nakuru National Park Safari
New
Start in Nairobi and finish back in Nairobi on this three day wildlife escape to Lake Nakuru National Park. Travel via the Great Rift Valley, where you can expect sweeping views before you settle into classic game drives in search of flamingos painting the shoreline pink, endangered black and white rhinos, and big cats alongside buffalo, giraffe and playful baboons. Birders will love over 400 species, while the park’s euphorbia and acacia forests create a striking backdrop. There’s time for an optional Lake Naivasha boat ride and walk on Crescent Island – great for hippo and bird sightings – before ending back in the Kenyan capital.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park. We collect you early from your Nairobi hotel or the airport and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, pausing to take in views of the Great Rift Valley.
We arrive around lunchtime. At 15:00 we head out on an afternoon game drive, exploring the lakeshore for flamingos and searching for both white and black rhino. We also look out for lion, leopard, waterbuck, giraffe, hyena, buffalo, baboons and gazelles. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge or a similar lodge.
Day 2 - Lake Nakuru Safari Day

After breakfast at the lodge, we set out on a full day game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park with a packed lunch. The park centres on an alkaline soda lake 160 km from Nairobi and is renowned for its millions of flamingos and more than 400 bird species, alongside black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, buffalo and gazelles. We explore varied habitats – open grasslands fringed by euphorbia and acacia forests – watching for wildlife along the lakeshore and across the plains. We return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - Final Game Drive & Return to Nairobi

We start with an early morning game drive, then return for breakfast. After breakfast we leave Lake Nakuru National Park for Nairobi – enjoying a short game drive as we exit the park. En route, you may choose to stop at Lake Naivasha for an optional boat ride and a walk on Crescent Island at extra cost. We expect to arrive in Nairobi around lunchtime and proceed to Carnivore for lunch. Afterwards, we drop you at your hotel or the airport.
