Day 1 - Marrakech
Upon your arrival in the captivating city of Marrakech, a warm welcome to Morocco awaits you. We will arrange your transfer to the hotel for a seamless start to your journey. As the afternoon unfolds, you'll delight in a charming horse-drawn carriage ride, allowing you to take in the vibrant atmosphere of the city's most famous gathering spot, Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. This central hub is bustling with life, offering a glimpse into the cultural tapestry of Marrakech. To round off your first day, a delightful dinner is included, providing a perfect opportunity to savour the local flavours. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Marrakech
We continue our journey in the captivating city of Marrakech. Our day begins with exploring the enchanting landmarks that have contributed to the city's legendary appeal. Discover the historic atmosphere as we wander through the strong city walls, venture into the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, and explore the intricate labyrinth of the Medina. We visit the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, an architectural gem of Marrakech, and the exquisite Bahia Palace, famed for its stunning gardens and intricate designs—entry to these sites is arranged for you.Following the morning's discoveries, you'll have some leisure time to savour a delightful lunch, which is included. Later, you might choose to unwind by the hotel's pool or in the garden, or perhaps enjoy a leisurely stroll through the bustling souks, where a plethora of local crafts and goods await.As the sun sets, consider joining a Fantasy Party, an optional evening experience that promises a memorable conclusion to your day.
Day 3 - Marrakech - Ouzoud Falls - Fes
On the third day, we embark on an adventurous journey starting bright and early. We head towards the picturesque Ouzoud Falls, known for being the tallest waterfalls in Northern Africa, standing at 110 metres high. Nestled within the Middle Atlas mountains, the falls are surrounded by breathtaking gorges. During our visit, we enjoy a brief boat trip and relish lunch at a restaurant that offers stunning views of the waterfalls – both experiences are part of our itinerary. The area around the falls is home to lively macaques, adding a touch of wildlife to the natural beauty. Following this refreshing stop, we continue our travels into the Southern Atlas and make our way to Fez. Before checking into our hotel, we plan to take in the magnificent cityscape from the historic Marinid tombs – though this particular visit may shift to the following day, depending on lighting conditions. Dinner is included as we settle in for the night.
Day 4 - Fes - Volubilis - Moulay Idriss - Meknes
Today, we will immerse ourselves in the vibrant city of Fez. Our exploration begins as we pass through the grand Bronze Gates of the Royal Palace, leading us into the Jewish Quarter and its vibrant souks. Fez, famed as Morocco’s cultural capital, is home to the oldest university in the world. Its Medina is renowned for preserving a traditional Arab atmosphere like no other. After exploring the bustling streets, we shall dine at an ancient palace nestled within the Medina, where lunch is included.Post-lunch, we’ll journey to Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its impressive archaeological remains. Founded in the 3rd century BC, Volubilis served as the capital of Mauretania Tingitana and played a vital role in the Roman Empire. Here, we'll have a chance to admire its stunning monuments.Our adventure continues to the holy city of Moulay Idriss. This site holds great significance as it houses the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad’s great-grandson and is regarded as a pilgrimage destination for Muslims. Remarkably, the city was closed to non-Muslims until 1912, and even as recently as 2005, non-Muslims could not stay overnight.Finally, we proceed to Meknes, where we'll settle in for the evening with an included dinner and accommodation, wrapping up a day rich in historical and cultural revelations.
Day 5 - Meknes - Rabat - Casablanca
Today, we explore Meknes, a captivating city and World Heritage Site founded by the Almoravids in the 11th century for military purposes. It once served as the capital under Sultan Moulay Ismail, who established the Alaouite dynasty. This period saw the city decorated in a remarkable Spanish-Moorish style, encircled by towering walls and striking monumental gates. We will marvel at the immense Bab el Mansur gate and observe the lively activity in El Hedim square, echoing the charm of Jemaa el-Fnaa in Marrakech. Admission is included to the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, allowing us a glimpse into the past.Following this insightful visit, you will have some free time to explore at your leisure. We then proceed by bus, with a break for lunch along the way, before arriving in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Our city tour includes a visit to the formidable Oudaia Kasbah, the Hassan Tower and the mausoleum of King Mohammed V, along with the Andalusian Walls and the Royal Palace's outer grounds. We also explore the modern neighbourhoods housing various embassies. After some free time to discover Rabat further, we continue our journey to Casablanca, reaching our destination by the end of the day. Dinner will be included.
Day 6 - Casablanca - Marrakech
Today begins with a guided tour of Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and its economic heart. We will take a leisurely walk along the city's grand boulevards, stopping at the picturesque Mohamed V Square, adorned with a charming fountain, Moorish architecture, and stately palm trees. A stroll through the Arab League Park and the little Medina will follow. Our visit includes entry to the remarkable Hassan II Mosque – the only mosque in Morocco that welcomes non-Muslim visitors. This architectural marvel stands by the crashing waves, showcasing a majestic 210-metre-high minaret illuminated with laser lights that point towards Mecca. After the morning's explorations, you’ll have time at your leisure to enjoy lunch at one of La Corniche’s seaside venues. We then make our way to Marrakech, where a delightful dinner awaits at your hotel.
Day 7 - Marrakech
After enjoying breakfast, your Moroccan adventure comes to a close. You'll depart with a treasure trove of cherished memories from this captivating journey. Safe travels onward!
