Ouarzazate Overnight Exploration

We will meet at your hotel reception at 8:00 to begin our journey through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, which rises to 2,265 metres. This route offers spectacular views of rugged cliffs and a landscape that seems to capture all four seasons at once. Our first stop is Kasbah Telouet, the oldest palace of Pacha el-Glaoui, showcasing traditional rural architecture of the region. After a guided tour, we continue to the ancient Berber village and UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, famous for its appearances in films such as Alexander, The Mummy and Lawrence of Arabia. We will pause for a local lunch before driving through the stunning Atlas Mountains to reach Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night.

After breakfast at the hotel, we begin with a tour of Ouarzazate’s main street, starting at Kasbah Taourirt. This impressive fortress, once owned by the el-Glaoui family, is the largest kasbah in Morocco and a fine example of local architecture. We then depart for the Fint Oasis, a verdant garden nestled in the desert beyond the rugged Anti-Atlas Mountains. Here, you can explore a traditional Berber village and, circumstances permitting, enjoy a refreshing mint tea with a local family. Next, we visit Kasbah Tifoultoute, perched above the Tifoultoute River. From its terrace, take in sweeping views across the valley to the High Atlas Mountains. This kasbah, also linked to the el-Glaoui family, has featured in several films. After lunch at the kasbah, we drive back to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, arriving at your hotel around 19:00, where the day’s tour concludes.
