Dunes Vineyards Exploration

We collect you from your hotel in Lima at approximately 05:30 and travel by bus along the Panamericana road to Ica. You will arrive at Ica bus station around 10:00, where a transfer will take you to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is yours to relax and explore at your leisure. Ica is a city in southern Peru’s coastal desert, known for its warm, dry climate and its reputation for producing pisco and wine. After breakfast, we collect you from your hotel to explore Ica’s iconic Plaza de Armas and its blend of historic and modern streets. We visit the Regional Museum of Ica, home to an important collection of pre-Hispanic artefacts from the Ica, Paracas, Nazca, Wari and Inca cultures, which have been exhibited internationally. Next, we tour an artisanal distillery to learn about traditional wine and pisco production, followed by a tasting session. We then visit Lake Huacachina, a desert oasis surrounded by impressive sand dunes and one of Ica’s key attractions. After returning to the hotel for lunch, we continue with an in-depth exploration of pisco making. At the artisanal winery El Catador, established in 1856, we observe traditional production methods. Then we visit Vista Alegre, an industrial winery capable of producing five million litres of pisco annually. Finally, we tour Tacama winery, where you’ll see industrial techniques for producing a variety of red, white and pisco wines, including its seedling area and farmhouse. We return to the hotel at the end of the day.

We will arrange shared transport from your hotel to the Ica bus station; pick-up times may vary depending on the number of passengers. From there, you will travel by bus back to Lima, where the tour concludes.
